Hi, I have 2 licenses for Kingsize for my two websites. I have just updated one and my video welcome page no longer plays on my iphone as it did before the update. Is there a fix for this? I tried submitting a ticket but apparently although I can update to the latest version – my support seems to have expired?? I also cannot access the forum which used to allow me to fix my own problems. I am now reduced to posting on this page which I can see is not really the place to post. Happy to pay for support but I would have thought the upgrade should not break what wasn’t broken. If you can point me at a URL I will try and work it out. Thanks Ben
The issue you’re facing is due to “autoplay” not being capable on mobile devices. At least this is what I believe you’re referring to. This was addressed in the release of Version 5.1.6, including a new option that adds conditional features (Enable Background on Mobile). See the theme change log for details (in the Documentation).
The support requirement, this is a new feature released by Envato, that requires buyers to purchase Theme Support. By default, support is provided for the first 6 months, but after that it requires being purchased to continue with support. Though updates will always remain free for download, support will be limited based on whether or not there is an active support license.

I would like it so when the Home page link on my menu is clicked that the background slider with text is just displayed instead of my home page. How do I do this?

I have a problem playing the video homepage background (YouToube video) on mobile or tablet devices. Do you know where the problem could be? The error is: “If playback doesn’t begin shortly, try restarting your device”

We love your theme and would love to purchase it to showcase several film projects! I just have a question: For self-hosted video uploads, does the theme support ”.mov” videos in H.264 compression (or only MP4)?
We don’t state that it supports .MOV because it was never our intention, but we’ve many buyers using .MOV for their video backgrounds. As for compression, I am sorry, I am a developer, not a video editor and not sure what that means or how it would affect it. Though to answer the question, yes, .MOV should work.

Do I have to re-purchase this theme to get the plugin “Visual Composer” to update? I bought the theme and one license for it back in 2011. I do not have “support” now. Just asking this question first. If the answer to this question is that I have to pay again for either support OR a plugin that came with the theme, let me know. I hope that is not the case. It says the author should give you the current license with updates to the theme? (At least that s what I thought it said?) Thanks!
Updates to the theme are ALWAYS free and available via the “Downloads” section of your Envato / Themeforest account. You’ll have to download the latest version and update your version.
It’s not necessary to re-purchase.

Hi – do the galleries support vimeo videos?
Galleries do not support videos, they’re only for images, however backgrounds can have unlimited video backgrounds and also can have portfolios setup to use videos as well. Thanks for your interests.
Is there a way I can create a Sticky Post on a category Page? I am using a category in the Menu and I want a specific post to always remain on the top of that Page? Its either I need that post to be Sticky or I need the Post Orders to be Ascending instead of descending.

does this theme support client area to view photos and before/after. I dont see many with these two features on photography themes.
It’s possible to do so with password protected pages/posts, but also with membership plugins/extensions such as S2Member or other. Tho I will inform you now, that we are working towards a much more sophisticated release in the coming weeks that will be to help with photographers handling customers. This will be built into the theme. Making communicating and sales between photographer and client easier, more convenient and more professional. This however is still in the works, but even though not as a native feature now, it’s still possible to do with membership plugins extending it’s features.

I have created a category page where post are displayed. I have been looking online to see how I can change the default sorting of Wordpress Post from Date Ascending to Descending.
I want my Very First Blog Post to always remain in the TOP of the page. It either I find a way to make it Sticky or I change the order to Date Ascending.

Yes, access to support does require an active license for buyer support: https://themeforest.net/page/item_support_policy It’s a new policy introduced by Envato last September 2015. They provided a 6 month license to all past buyers and then you’ll have to renew it for continued buyer support.
The theme updates however will always remain free.

Hi i installed your theme and its loading the gallery page slow. Is there a way to speed up the loading of the page. It seems to be waiting for all the pics to load when i click on the photo gallery menu link then is loads the page. Takes about 10Sec. i can’t get the blog page on my site to work

i’ve checked the test posts and they are published and they can be viewed on the website if you type their url
i’ve checked plugins by deactivating them still the same problem.
i’ve switched to a different theme and the blog works fine so i figure it’s a theme issue but i cant figure out what.

I’ve taken over as volunteer webmaster for a small site that uses your theme. A different volunteer, the site creator, purchased your theme on behalf of the site owner.
Unless I’m mistaken, an account with Envato must be established in order to d/l your theme.
Do I just need a purchase code that I could use with my Envato account, or must the site creator login with that specific account in order to d/l updates?
Is it possible to transfer ownership, so that this person could login and set my email/ID as the purchaser?
They didn’t install the Envato toolkit plugin, so I can’t update that way.
I could provide the site creator’s name and purchase date in a private email.
This person has no interest in maintaining the site, has essentially cut ties with the site owner, and has nothing to lose by my inability to update the theme.
They have been uncooperative in other matters.
However, since they used the site owner’s money to purchase the theme, they may be willing to provide their purchase code, if they haven’t lost or deleted it.
The site owner I volunteer for has limited funds and is understandably disinclined to double purchase the theme.
Unfortunately there is nothing we can do regarding this. You’ll need to contact the original buyer and ask them for access to their account to download updates, as well licensing details for access to support.
We always encourage the client to buy their themes directly rather than a developer to avoid such issues. We do apologize but there’s not a whole lot we can do from our end.
Hi, I find your theme content area is not full width. Only background is full width. Is it possible to make a page in which content area is full width like many other themes? This will help to create a great full width landing page.
If this is possible, how will the manu bar appear? Will it be a dropdown within the full-width content page or it’ll appear on top horizontally like many other themes? Thanks.
Our theme does not include fullwidth – aside from it’s fullwidth backgrounds, as it’s not intended for the way we’ve designed our theme. You’d have to create a new page template to achieve this – it wouldn’t be hard to do with a little experience, but unfortunately not something that is part of our theme by default.
Please also note that our menu has one design. That is what you’re seeing in the demonstration.
My license for the King Size them has recently expired and I’m considering extending the support for it. However, there is something that bothers me about the theme that might tempt me to try and maybe buy another theme.
In my opinion the King Size theme doesn’t make optimal use of the wider screens used nowadays. The theme looks good and fills the entire screen on 4:3 display, but on a 16:9 or 16:10 screen it seems to only use the middle 3/4 (or less) of the display, leaving a lot of unused space to the left of the menu and to the right of the fairly narrow displayed page or post.
I would like the option to locate the menu bar farther to the left (maybe even ‘stick’ it the left side of the browser window) and the option to make the page or post wider.
Are there any plans to add such options to the theme in future releases?
Or can I get support/help in getting these options to work in a child theme?
The answers to these questions might persuade me to extend my license.

At the moment, our theme comes with one design/color scheme, though in our feature release (coming out as Version 6.0) this will drastically change as we’ll be introducing a few new color schemes and easier management over those color schemes and branding.
In doing so, we’re also removing the current approach on the “menu” and “background” containers, as these are currently images and have been since it’s release in 2011. These will be replaced by grids, styled with CSS rather than images – better performance even though optimized already, but more importantly greater control over those elements and branding in the theme.
As for moving the navigation to the far left, this can already be done with CSS and is outlined in our FAQs on our website. You can also modify the “width” of the body container, as well it’s position, it does however require some experience with CSS and of course editing those now current images, but that is because our theme comes with only a dark option without you modifying those images yourself (also something explained in our FAQs).
In addition to these, we’ll be including a lot of new features, such as:
- Retina Support (long overdue)
- Better WooCommerce Design / Integration
- More control over elements in the theme
- Client Management for Businesses
- More focus on Photography business use
This just to name a few of the many things being released in version 6.0. We are however about to release a final update to what we believe will be the last update to the 5.0 series, which will strictly be a maintenance update (minor fixes to do us until our 6.0 release). Our intention here is to have this released by latest, end of October, as we have some features being released that will be helpful to our Ecommerce users during the holiday seasons ahead.

What will be the update strategy for current users/owners? Is someone who has purchased the theme in the past but hasn’t renewed his support eligable for an update/upgrade to 6.0?
Are you by any chance looking for beta-testers for the new release?
I’ve been searching the King Size theme site, the OWM Labs site and through Google search, but have a difficult time finding the King Size FAQ you mention.
Where can I find it?
End of October as mentioned above is our projected date for release of version 6.0 but it also depends on bug testing and steady progress but we want to release this prior to the holiday season, so it should be out no later than mid-November, but aim is for end of October, giving our buyers/users plenty of time to adapt and make use of the change.
As for the update strategy, updates are always available to existing buyers, whether support is active or not. The only thing that would not be included is access to our support forums which requires an active license to support. We unfortunately do not provide support in the comments here on Themeforest.
As for Beta Testers, absolutely. Though I believe we may already have enough beta testers for this upcoming release but if you want, you can certainly contact us privately via our profile and we’ll add your email to that list.
