I think this theme looks great. Its a little confusing to implement, there are extra plugins needed as people have mentioned, but I think the biggest shortfall is that they don't have a forum where users can ask questions. They offer a 6 month support, but after that you are left with the documentation, which is not bad, but does not answer all questions. Your other option is the comments section here, which is awful for searching. You can only search one keyword at a time and so instead of being able to find an answer on a forum, you have to ask a question here, that as probably asked before, and can only be answered by one of the authors. Fernando from Astoundify probably answers the same question 10 times a day. You guys are seriously shooting yourselves in the foot here.
Other than that, the theme needs various plugins for its shortfalls, for example, editing a comment, sending messages between users, edit fields, but I have been able to make this theme work the way I envisioned, even though it took me a whole 6 months and am very happy with it.
I've used this for eighteen months, as I started to add limited customers I recognized big problems. This works OK if you aspire to be a bespoke and small provider in one area with an appearance you can't modify much. Fatal flaws include the inability for an individual listing owner to access bookings, etc. from the front-end to manage, which they have no plan to fix. The listing display for a merchant listing that includes multiple bookable products is unworkable. The listing format is a straight jacket that can't be modified enough and they have no plans to fix. I also found the number of plugins you have to add to create a viable site, more than those just to get it working, adds a cacophony of issues from time to time for all your users. I concluded that it's better to pick a theme that can work with woo-commerce product vendors and build around that as it can scale and you gain a ton of flexibility. The competitive product themes like listingpro and the like are not much better. The support here is generally fine. I think the expectations created far exceed the softwares grasp at this time. I don't want a refund as I got some use out of it, but it's exceeded its useful life as a marketplace software solution for us.
the customization for this theme is just NOT up-to standard anymore, there are tons of other themes which provide more custom elements to work with, and recently it started to support beaver builder which i can hardly even confirm that, and the high price for this theme kinda makes you think that at least developed plugins by the theme developer itself are free but NO! you have to pay for many other features ( where other themes give you free premium plugin bundled not even theirs ) it became obvious to me that developer is milking the money as hard as they can. the only thing that i can give credit to, is the CSS editing of wp job manager and thats it. if you looking to buy this and want super easy listing directory with no hassle ( kinda ) id go with this, but trust me, the more you learn about wordpress the more you hate this theme.
I have an issue with my newly purchased Listify theme. It seems that the refund is easier than contacting the authors...I need help there is literally no one to email or to ask a simple question..This truly sucks.
Hi there.. Would it be too much to ask for a refund for the theme if you are unhappy? We provide refunds to customers who aren't happy with their purchase.
We will give your money back if your not happy unlike 99% of the other authors on ThemeForest who will keep your money even if you are unhappy.
