I have a quick question, I have had bbpress installed with the theme for a few months and all is working ok until I added a new forum, now the most recent post date is wrong, it’s showing an old date for the most recent. Can you help with this?

Since I added this the most recent post date changed to an old post date (1month+ ago) where it was a few days ago recently for another post.

Try to replace in the file functions.php:
add_filter('pre_get_posts','ct_search_filter_page');
with
//add_filter('pre_get_posts','ct_search_filter_page');
I commented out that line in the functions.pgp file of magic-news theme but it’s still the same…
Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.
Also, remove all the widgets from thesidebar.
