hello, i have purchased the huber theme about 5 years ago. i am building a site that aggregates film reviews from different sites, indexes authors and publications and does not have content but only links to the origin of the article. (literally the equivalent of metacritic or rottentomatoes) do you think i should move to this theme?

actually, yeah, there are a few.

- each hub page has multiple articles and ratings. i need to manually enter the average of these ratings right now and manually calculate and update them again when new ratings are added. the theme by default shows the rating of the last review on the hub page.

- i need a live search that excludes articles and searches only for film titles (hub titles) and other film titles (a custom created field). it seems smarter to redirect those who want to search only in detail to a new page (like a filter page). in addition, i want to be able to search for author names (buddypress) and publication names (tags) in the same live search field.

- next to each of the articles listed on the author pages, the image of the associated hub page (the poster of the film – ‘featured image 2’) should appear. likewise, on the main page of the film (hub page), thumbnails of the article authors should appear.

actually, when I say rttnetomatoes an mtacriritc equivalent, I really mean an almost one-to-one equivalent.

these are my basic requirements.

1) Zine can’t show an average of ratings from multiple review posts or the rating of the latest review. You would need to manually add the ratings from each review in the main hub page and then the average would be automatically calculated. I am available for hire if you want to add this feature added to the theme.

2) By live search do you mean as you’re typing the search results update? If so, Zine does not have this feature. However it has extensive filter options which are updated dynamically once you click the Filter button so the page doesn’t need to be reloaded.

3) Yes you can do this with Zine. You can build your own author post loop template using Elementor. This will allow you to add the hub image beside each post.

4) You have the ability to build a theme that looks like either of these site, but I don’t know the inner workings of these sites to say that you can replicate the functionality. You will need to ask me about specific features and I can say whether the theme has them. :)

i got my answer. thanks.

Hi,

I think the previous question below answered what I was going to inquire about.

Just to make sure, because I don’t see an example on your demo…...does your theme have the option for me as the site admin to write a review for each article/item/business and also have visitors leave a review on articles that the site admin has written/reviewed. I don’t want visitors/users creating reviews, only leaving reviews on articles that site admin has initially created.

Is this possible?

That demo (which is identical to Trustpilot) doesn’t really show a good example of what I’m describing. I want to create a site that looks more like magazine style (similar to your General Review demo), where the site admin creates and reviews all of the articles and users (yes, like leaving a comment with a rating) can leave reviews only to existing articles.

The main point is I don’t want users creating any articles. Don’t want them having access to creating anything. Is this doable?

Another point about your demo that looks exactly like Trustpilot…....wish I had seen this when I was searching hi & lo for a Trustpilot identical theme :)

Yes you can have only the site admin create reviews and have the users just leave a comment and rating.

Hi, I am considering buying the theme. Question regarding the review system.

1. My understanding is that I can create several category to rate, and these individual ratings will average to give a final rating? For example, categories for a car: Reliability, price, Service, Appearance.

2. Can the website visitors, provide their rating for the same categories: Reliability, price, Service, Appearance.

3. And then could we show the average rating for each category by the visitors. For examples, the visitors rating for Reliability is an average of 4.2/5. And then for price, 3.5/5. Etc. And then also show there overall rating.

Would you be able to communicate a demo website with admin access so I can check?

Thank you

Hi there,

1) Yes this is correct.

2) Yes. You can create a site rating with multi categories (criteria) and a user rating with multi categories for each post/page.

3) Yes. You can show the average rating of each category rating and an average of the overall rating.

4) Unfortunately I am not able to provide admin access to any demo, but I can ensure you these features are included with the theme and if they’re not you’re entitled to a refund.

Hey there, I once purchased TheReview Theme, unfortunately you stopped the support for this Theme and also it was taken down from ThemeForest. I have a client who is still using this Theme but I have to do a rework, as there are more and more errors showing up. I would be cool with purchasing a license for your magazine theme. Can you tell me if its possible to migrate the content to magazine? There are over 1000 articles on this website. Best regards, Allan

Hi there,

When you switch themes nothing needs to be migrated really. The Review posts will show up with the Magzine theme, but custom fields from the theme such as the review data will not work with the Magzine theme. I’ve available to hire if you would either like my to fix all the issues with The Review or make it fully compatible with Magzine.

Hi, thanks for the update to 2.8 version. Could you please update changelog as well?

Thanks in advance

Hi there,

This has now been done. :)

Thanks a lot for your great job!

Hi, great theme as I see. In one of your demo website (socializer) I see there is Youzify plugin integrated.

So It is officially supported by Magzine theme?

Hi there,

The free version of Youzify is shown in the Socializer demo and is fully compatible with the theme. I do not offer support for this plugin, you would need to contact the Youzify support team. :)

Would I need to start from scratch with a new Wordpress site when swapping to any of the gaming review themes? The dark review theme seems a little complex to get the posts and pages I have to work with this theme

Hi there,

No, absolutely not.

Please note the ThemeForest comments area is only for pre-sale questions. If you are looking for theme support, please open a support ticket at https://ghostpool.ticksy.com

Thanks.

Good morning, I am interested in purchasing the Magazine BuddyPress theme for a portal that will deal with E-sports events and tournaments with online cash prizes regarding various video game titles. I have already started work on another theme but I’m not feeling well and would like to change. Since, as mentioned above, I have already done a lot to set up the backend for my purposes and I have already set up a Membership, a BuddyPress and Gamipress. The question is: What happens to the changes already made to the plugins in question when I install the theme? Does it delete everything for me or does it keep the functions implemented and the settings already given to these plug-ins? Thanks in advance for your response and time.

Hi there,

Plugin settings will still be there when you switch themes. If the theme has added any additional settings to these plugins they will not be added to the new theme.

And is there a way, after the registrants receive an email to confirm the registration, to not see that they are logging in through WordPress, as if there is no bar at the top that it is through WordPress. It’s even through BuddyPress, but after all the procedures it leads you to log in with WordPress and it doesn’t look good

And where is this option? Where is this set! Because WordPress login opens with login and as I said above it is visible that it is a WordPress profile, I could not see an option to remove this!

I agreed to make a site for my client (I can’t keep writing to him about problems I find) I like the theme but I’m a bit confused. To be honest, I would buy 3-4 themes from you for personal use and not for clients. I have an idea for some niches, the theme looks clean and good, that’s exactly what I need. The clash with the profile is not OK for me, as well as the fact that I can’t change the logo of the mobile version of the theme. Are you considering an option to update with an admin panel, login and registration to be integrated in the demo version

Hi there,

I didn’t realise you were asking for theme support I thought this was a pre-sales question as you’re posting from an account that hasn’t purchased this theme.

If you require theme support you will need to either purchase the theme or log into the account that already purchased the theme. Once you’ve done that, please open a support ticket at https://ghostpool.ticksy.com/

I started to create a site for a client, first the mobile theme didn’t look good. how it can be customized (I send you a picture to see) https://paste.pics/d2f35d69c01f42dee957c07832aea151

Hi there,

This looks like an issue what was fixed in more recent versions of the theme.

You’re posting from an account that hasn’t purchased this theme.

If you require theme support you will need to either purchase the theme or log into the account that already purchased the theme. Once you’ve done that, please open a support ticket at https://ghostpool.ticksy.com/ or download the latest version of the theme.

Is the subscription made like this that is automatical paid per month and if you don’t pay you don’t see content? is this correct?

Hi there,

Subscription features are part of the Paid Membership Pro plugin, which is free. It allows automatic renewal of paid subscription. If a subscription is not renewed any content that was restricted to that membership level can no longer be accessed.

Great!!! Thank you

Hi, 1. Can we do payment gateway integration(woocommerce, razorpay) with this theme. Ex. Once user click on subscription plan then checkout and payment option page should be open? 2. Is Paid Memberships Pro have features of apply content restriction on particular category(category of multiple pages) and if yes, is it free with theme? 3. Can we create subscription plan based on the different categories like one subscription plan for technology blogs and second subscription plan for electronics blogs etc…?

Hi there,

1) The subscription features are part of the Paid Membership Pro plugin. They allow payment gateway integration with WooCommrce.

2) Paid Membership Pro is a free plugin like WooCommerce. It does not come with the theme. You can restrict access to content, including categories and posts of particularly categories.

3) You can create different subscription plans. Different plans can grant access to different categories.

Hey GP, how are you? Long time no talk. I wanted to give another shot at installing the theme properly and getting rid of Janah finally.

I was under the impression that you where sick and I am hoping you are better now. I wanted to make sure that you are around if I pick up another support package. I meed to make sure the theme will support putting custom posts into the standard querry of “most recent” “most Viewed” kinda thing.

Also what is the best way to get up to speed on elementor so that I can get basic functionality up quickl. I assume i need to learn how to do the queries and the most recent display type thing that are usual in a magazine theme…

Hi there,

I have not been sick, I’m not sure where you got that impression from? :D

Yes the Items element supports custom pos types for most recent/most viewed.

For more information on Elementor refer to the theme’s documentation, videos and Elementor’s own documentation and videos. And if you have any specific questions please open a support ticket at https://ghostpool.ticksy.com

Thanks.

Glad i was incorrect about the sick thing!!!

Hello, pre-sales questions.

I’m looking into this theme to build a website where users would pay a recurring fee to access certain features (provided by other plugins, or custom-made plugins). Some of these features include them being able to provide custom links to their own customers (something like mywebsite.com/premium-user-john) to – for instance – purchase certain services from them.

My questions are:

1. Is this system of “paying to become premium user with access to front-end management pages” already built-in, or would it require additional coding or plugins?

2. Does the theme support different levels of premium accounts?

3. Does the theme support different users sharing the same subscription?

4. Is the feature of sharing a public page with each premium user’s own clients already somehow built in?

5. Are premium users’ frontend private pages customisable?

6. Are all theme functions pluggable, in case I need to tweak some functionalities?

Thanks in advance!

Hi there,

1) No this is not built into the theme. The theme is fully compatible with the Paid Memberships Pro plugin which allows you to create custom membership levels which can have a recurring subscription fee. The plugin allows you to restrict access to pages/content based on the membership level. The theme adds additional membership level access options for BuddyPress and Elementor .

2) You can create different levels are different prices using the PMPro plugin.

3) Multiple users can be subscribed to the same level.

4) The theme doesn’t have this feature and neither does PMPro. You could use BuddyPress to give each user a profile page, but if you only want to restrict it to premium users it would require customisation, which you can hire me to do.

5) As I say the theme doesn’t offer this. BP profile pages are not customisable by users. This would require customisation again.

6) I don’t know what you mean by pluggable. As these feature come from the PMPro you would need to refer to their documentation for overwriting functions/filters etc.

Hello! A couple of questions -

Does this theme have your “Ultimate Reviewer” plugin included?

Would this be useful for a location directory review website? Similar to ‘Trip Advisor’? If so what Prebuilt Website would you recommend?

Many thanks :)

Hi there,

This theme does not include Ultimate Reviewer because it doesn’t need to. :) It comes built in with all the features of this plugin and more. The Customer Review demo is the closest to what you’re looking for: https://magzine.ghostpool.com/customer-review/

Hi there,

Can you filter the games according to the user ratings of custom criterions in the Light Gaming Review template ? Like if I want to create a “soundtrack” criterion, and allow the users to rate it, will I also be able to make them filter the games displayed on the “Games” page according to the quality of the soundtrack decided by the other users ? I would like my website to be user driven, therefore I do not want to rate the games myself, but that would requiere custom criterions

Thank you very much for your information.

Hi there,

Yes you can filter by the average of each individual user rating criterion in the Attributes Filter element. So “Soundtrack” can be filtered by individually. :)

Hi, how could I get a refund?

The theme so far works OK. It’s not a theme issue but the website I want to create that it is a complicated and theme needs a lot custom develpement.

I bought in the past aardvark and I’m very happy with your product.

I would really appreciate if you could make the refund as unfortunately the theme doesn’t meet my needs.

Thank you for your understanding

As I say refunds unfortunately cannot be issued if you just don’t want to use the theme anymore. With digital products you still have a copy of the theme which is why refunds are not issued.

Magzine is an incredibly versatile theme, if you let me know via a support ticket what custom development you need I can see if the theme can do it. If it can’t I can give you a quote for the how much this would take to implement with Magzine.

Please block the license of my theme, I cannot use this theme for my project because customization is very expensive, I already asked for serveral quotations.

it has been only 5 days since I bought it and I’m not going to use it, because it doesn’t meet my requeriments

Please block my license number so I cannot use and refund or I will need to ask by bank for cash back

Looks like some great themes! Interested in the Listing demo but is there an employer demo account that we can login to see what the employer would see? Also, is there the ability to filter jobs by location? Does the theme support geolocation?

Hi there,

You can login with the following Employer details:

Username: pacificflexibles Password: demo

Employer and Employees see a very similar interface in the demo. They have different profile menu options and employees do not have access to the submit a listing menu/page.

You can filter jobs by predefined locations e.g. provide dropdown list of locations to the submit listing form and then add a filter to select between these locations. There is no geolocation support but this can be added as custom work if you’re interested please let me know.

If I would to buy this theme, could I get the hubs to work with WP automatic plugin to add the videos or articles to the proper hubs?

I can’t say for sure because I have not used this plugin with the theme. You would need to find out if the plugin allows adding content from YouTube and then you may also require customisation of the theme to add this as a hub page.

Oh ok.

Yeah, the plugin does allow custom fields. I didn’t know if the Hub page uses a custom field to attach the post to it or not.

Yes posts are associated with hubs using a custom field.

Pre sale questions: - Can I create different member types? - How is the speed of the theme? - What about SEO? Do you recommend any SEO plugin? Thank you a lot!

Hi there,

Yes you create different member types using BuddyPress. An example is shown in the Listing demo (https://magzine.ghostpool.com/listings) where there are Employer and Employee member types.

Theme speed depends on a number of factors not controlled by the theme such as your web host. But genrally the theme has good page speed scores: https://pagespeed.web.dev/analysis/https-magzine-ghostpool-com-listings/hqfxcee8el?form_factor=desktop

The theme uses good SEO practices but I also recommend using Yoast SEO plugin with this theme.
