In google maps click the link icon on the left side bar and select the “Paste HTML to embed in website” I ended up using the Standard Text Widget and pasting the code in loaded right up.

Thanks for helping on this one TheWino. I guess that is a solution also.

But try the way I did it , see the prev comment.

Hi Famous,

I fell on this theme by mistake, but I can see how I could use this already, excellent theme, design, everything, the RSVP is a cracking little page. Hat off to you Famous, this rocks!

Now, pre-sales Q, the “The Gift Registry” is # linked, is there a gift registry style page, or is this just an example box?

And I am assuming that “cre8tivefocus” with his “one” purchase is a complete newbie to WP and anything that actually takes setting up!

Hi Kip,

I am glad you like our theme :)

The RSVP page you see on our demo

It was setup using a form builder plugin. We have only included the CSS design of that form and instructions on how to setup it. After installing the theme, create the RSVP page, go to the link we have provided there, install the plugin required, and start build your own RSVP form with desired fields.

Don’t want to comment “cre8tivefocus” message. I am sure that my theme is good, and tested it a lot of times. And I will help anyone personally, that tells me the theme don’t work, and show him it works fine.

Best Regards.

@TheWino Thanks for the advice I’ll give it a shot. I tried using the HTML in the Custom Widget for Google Maps but it didn’t work. The embed code is a simple solution but will take some size adjustment and I imagine it will not fit the page as fluently as it was meant to. It would really be great to get the actual widget made for this to work properly. Or at least to be explained because I am sure that i have done something incorrectly…

I have searched an address in google maps and taken just the link address from the “link icon” on the left and not the embed code… No luck. Any advice from Famous Themes. Otherwise I will do it with the workaround that TheWino has suggested.

Thanks, Mitch

Hi Mitch,

Just replied to your first comment. See there how we have setup the widget on our demo and how the map link shoulf be.

Thanks Famous!

Turns out Google doesn’t include “&output=embed” at the end of the links. Or at least it didn’t have that in my case. But, after adding that in it works like a charm! Thank you and again, great theme!

I am glad it works. Yes just checked google map home page and made some tests, and yes that “&output=embed” is not there now. But when I created the theme I am sure I got that code from there :)

Having trouble figuring out how to making the landing page my latest posts.

Did you select “Import all attachements…” option when using the wordpress import option.

Very important is to know that wordpress is not including in wordpress XML exported file, data from custom widgets. So my XML file will add to your theme some blank images (gray colored and not the real photos from my server), and most of the text content (but not from custom widgets), just posts and pages content.

To add the rest of the content use the basic instructions I have provided.

getting a footer menu when i have it set to only a top menu. also, as stated in the last comment, importing the sample data fails.

To create custom menus for header and footer you must use Menu options in wordpress admin and select them for footer and header. If the menu are not created by DEFAULT I have set the footer and header menu the default Wordpress menu. So when installing the theme you will have boths menus but default created (they might not look good, but once you activate it from the menu they will be ok)

Hello, you helped me before with my ‘Image instead of homepage text issue’. Thanks You for that.

I have one more question:

If I want to remove your slider from the homepage and add my own, where I can add any 900×400 images of my choice and link them manually, rather than adding image from posts, how would I go about doing this?

I don’t like the feature where I have to make a post to be able to add an image to the slider, I just want a page where I can add content to the slider. That way, I can link to external pages also.

To do that edit your index.php file and see the code

<ul class="slides"> <?php query_posts('post_type=any&meta_key=use_post_in_slideshow&meta_value=yes&showposts=999'); ?> <?php if (have_posts()) : ?> <?php while (have_posts()) : the_post(); ?> <li> <a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>"><img src="<?php echo get_post_meta($post->ID, " slideshow_large_image_url="" true="" />" alt="" title=""/></a> <div class="flex-caption"> <div class="caption_title_line"><h2><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to <?php the_title_attribute(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2><?php echo home_excerpts(); ?></div> </div> </li> <?php endwhile; ?> <?php endif; ?> </ul>

Leave the code only

<ul class="slides"> <li> </li> </ul>

And inside that UL section add how many LI you want manually.

A LI structure should look like

<li> <a href="....your link......"><img src="....your image src....." alt="" title="" /></a> <div class="flex-caption"> <div class="caption_title_line"><h2><a href="...your link....." rel="bookmark" title="">Nemo enim ipsam voluptatem quia voluptas sit</a></h2><p> Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet, consectetur adipisicing ...</p></div> </div> </li>

Like this you can manually link the images, title and caption to the slider.

I am curious how hard/easy it is to change the yellow color in the theme?

The has 6 color options for graphics and unlimited for texts (using color picker from admin).

Forgot to update theme description and tell users the theme has allready some colors options in admin :) I will update it today.

I purchased this theme, and have a question. How do I remove the title and caption from the homepage slider?

Great theme, by the way! This is my first attempt at making a wordpress site and I have had no trouble making all sorts of customizations so far.

Well I am so happy yo hear that is your first attempt and you have no problems :)

I have always said that wordpress is very easy to work with :)

To answer your question, to remove the title and caption you have 2 options.

1. Open index.php file and see the code

<div class="flex-caption"> <div class="caption_title_line"><h2><a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>" rel="bookmark" title="Permanent Link to <?php the_title_attribute(); ?>"><?php the_title(); ?></a></h2><?php echo home_excerpts(); ?></div> </div>

delete that class flex-caption and will remove the title and caption.

2. In admin under Marriage theme options panel ,in General tab, under Custom CSS field you can add the class

.flex-caption{ display:none;}

This will hide the caption and title from CSS with display none command.

Best Regards.

One more thing… I’m looking for a way to make the footer menu identical to the top menu, but can’t seem to do that even though I selected it in the footer menu dropdown. It still shows different formatting (same text links) than the top menu. I would happily change the style sheet, but I can’t find where it is. Thanks!

Do you mean to have the same style as top menu for the footer menu ?

Or the same links.

The same style I do not recomand, because the top menu is a drop down menu. And on footer a drop down menu will not look good with all the drops under the website.

To make the same links witch I think you did it was simple, just select from wordpress menu options the same menu created for top to be available also for footer.

To make the footer links look quite similar to header ones, but without the drop down functionality just see the CSS classes from style.css file

.footer_menu{ float:right;padding:20px 0 0 10px;}
.footer_menu ul li a{ font-size:14px; margin:0 0 10px 10px; display:block; float:left; padding:5px 10px; }
.footer_menu ul li.selected a{ font-size:14px; margin:0 0 10px 10px; display:block; float:left; padding:5px 10px;}

And try to make them like the main menu style with

font-family: ‘Ovo’, serif; font-size:16px; .........etc

I can’t seem to get the widgets to display on the home screen, and yes I have enabled in theme options…any ideas? All the other pages are working a treat and I’ve a fee WP sites so I’m quite clued up. Are there any plugins that could be causing issues? (I’ve tried to disable most of them)

Just replied also to your emails.

I understand now, you have also enabled widgets areas from admin.

I must see the url of your demo to look into the scource and tell you exactly what is causing that.

Hi there,

Just purchased your theme, and the install is failing! Getting this issue:

Unpacking the package…

Installing the theme…

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

Please help! My email is steven.davis <at> me.com

You are getting that message because you have installed all the archive you have downloaded.

Please install in wordpress just the theme folder. So unzip the archive and get the themefolder from there.

Why is the admin bar removed on the front end of the site? Is there a way to get it back?

nevermind. functions.php ; add_filter( ‘show_admin_bar’, ‘__return_true’ );

Yes remove that line and you have the admin bar back. A lot of users don’t want that bar this why I had disable it.

Hi Famous Themes, Our website is nearly ready to go. However the Mrs has decided she wants to change the colour theme. Is there anyway i can do PURPLE in the Main Colour Style? Or tell me what i have to change on the style sheet.

Purple color for graphic elements is not included. For the text elements you can choose from the admin any color you want using the color picker.

I think I will update the theme this days with another 5 color options for graphic elements, including purple.

You will have to download (it’s free) the theme files again after a few days and you will have that color option in admin.

I will post a comment with the update once I will have it online.

Hello there, I wonder if the color accent of this theme can be changed to RED ? I don’t see any options in changing the color theme. Please let me know if it can be changed through the css. Thank you.

You can change it also from the admin. There are 6 predefined colors for graphics elements (including red) and for text and titles colors are unlimited using a color picker option from admin.

I am thinking of buying the theme, but my client’s theme is black, white and red. I need the accent RED color NOT golden yellow. Is there a way to have color options on the theme? Please advice asap.. Thank you. I need to build the website this week. I appreciate your prompt reply.

See the prev comment. You have the color red included in admin options. There are 6 predefined colors for now, and in a few days another 5 colors will be added.

I should be asking Why, but… i won’t.

Where are you setting the text to fill areas that do not have widgets in them. “You can add widgets here from Admin->Appearance->Widgets”

I assumed it was in Functions.php but i didn’t see it in there.

Why do you want to remove that text.

You can enable/disable all the widget area from the custom admin panel the theme have.

If you disable a widget area the text will disapear.

If you really want to edit that text just see index.php file for home page widgets, and archive.php , page.php , single.php for the othere sidebar widgets info text.

Great Theme.. Just having trouble setting up the photo album. It just seems to creat an uncatergorized post.

To setup the photo album just use the custom post types from “Photo Album” tab in wordpress admin. There add a new photo item, add his image and add a category from the right sidebar options. Each category created will be a filter option in the album final page. Just like our demo looks like.

Is it possible to use the Photo Album single photos with a link to a page, not only as a link to an image?

The actual setup of the theme uses Photo Album section only with images.

To make the photo thumb link to a details page you will need to do some code modifications. I can give you some instructions if you really want to do that.

There when hovering the thumb you have 2 icons (photos.php file), I sugest release the LIKE icon and change it with go to page icon. And the link of the icon to be replaced with the permanlink of that entry.

<a href="<?php the_permalink() ?>">......</a>
