Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

I would like to install the Home Style 3 how can I do?

To set up homestyle 3: Read in the theme documentation paragraphs “Header and Featured Area > If You want to display featured content” and “Set Up Your Homepage > To set up magazine style homepage”.

How can I configure my site to look like demo number 2?

1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Featured Area Settings and select “Don’t Display Featured Content”.

2. Go to Appearance > Customize > Content Area Settings > Content Layout and select “Mixed: large and three-column grid (full-width)”.

3. In Appearance > Customize > Content Area Settings > Sidebar Position select “Without sidebar”.

4. In Appearance > Customize > Content Area Settings > Top MailChimp Form select “Disable MailChimp Form”.

I am having trouble setting up demo 5 home page.

1. Go to Appearance > Customize > Homepage Settings and select “Your latest posts” for “Your homepage displays”.

2. Go to Appearance > Customize > Featured Area Settings and select “Full Width Posts Carousel”.

3. Go to Appearance > Customize > Content Area Settings > Content Layout and select “Mixed: large and list”.

4. In Appearance > Customize > Content Area Settings > Sidebar Position select “Right sidebar”.

5. In Appearance > Customize > Content Area Settings > Top MailChimp Form select “Disable MailChimp Form”.

Can you tell me, can you turn the sidebar on and off for individual pages or is it only a site-wide option?

Pages and posts have two templates: default template and no sidebar template. When you add post/page, you can choose which one to use.

The default template displays post/page with or without a sidebar, depending on the global sidebar settings. A template without sidebar displays post/page without sidebar regardless of the global sidebar settings.

Depending on the selected blog listing layout, index/archive pages can also be with or without sidebar. Depending on the global sidebar settings and regardless of them. The item page lists all options for blog listing layouts. Those that have a mark “full-width” do not have a sidebar regardless of its global settings.

How to change the size of the logo?

1. Open file melina\functions.php and change logo size in lines 55-56.

2. Add this code to You child-theme style.css file:

.custom-logo {
  width: auto;
  max-width: 15rem;
  max-height: 2rem;
}

and change the size of the logo in this code to your own.

3. Activate child theme.

Is there a way to hide the small author (below the tags in the single post view)?

Open file melina\inc\template-functions.php and delete line 221.

Is there a way that comments are visible by default?

Delete lines 114-153 and 173-191 in melina\assets\js\functions.js file.

Can you advise where I can change the fonts.

To change the fonts you can:

1. Use third-party plugins, for example https://wordpress.org/plugins/easy-google-fonts/

2. Or edit lines 239-270 in the file functions.php and lines 69, 74, 75, 116 in the file style.css

The instagram plugin shows ‘Something went wrong with the plugin API.’

Unfortunately, the author of the plugin stopped supporting it. I did not find a similar alternative to it. Therefore, the theme is delivered without the ability to display photos from Instagram. All references to this feature are removed from the theme description page and its preview. It remains only in the documentation, as some of the older versions of this plugin work.

The following plugins can’t be found: Developer Share Buttons and WP Instagram Widget.

Unfortunately, the developers of these plugins have stopped supporting them. So far, we have left them compatible with the theme, since they are present on Github and some of the old customers can use them.
