I’m have a similar problem to others regarding the blog, but I couldn’t find an answer…
I’m using a page for my homepage and have assigned it as such in the Settings > Reading prefs. As such, I’m also using another page for the blog. I’ve set that page to the Blog with Right Sidebar. I had to hack the template to remove the “The Blog” page title and show the page caption that I want because the caption set in the page edit is not working (it would be nice to have that fixed so I don’t have to re-apply the hack after each update, as I don’t want to mess with a child-theme).
Finally, when I go to a blog post, it goes to a full-wide page instead of the single-right sidebar page, so my sidebar is missing. Is there any way to add the blog sidebar to the single blog post pages so there’s a consistent look between the main blog page and the post single pages?
Thanks a bunch!
I forgot to add that the theme has a Single Post Sidebar Widget Area, but I don’t see any way to get that to show up anywhere as the sidebar is completely missing on the single post pages (unless I’m just overlooking something).
When you create a post, did you select its layout to “With Sidebar”?
Well, look at that! So sorry – I didn’t even think to check the actual post. Embarrassed. Thanks!
You are welcome
Btw, Could you help me rate for the theme please?
Sure! I’ll rate once this site is done. Thanks.
Hey dev -
How in the world do you set up the home page to display the carousel-like gallery at the top? I keep getting the separate images all listed out, rather than having one giant one that is scrollable left/right.
I think I figured it out… just haven’t tested it yet. To confirm – is this what the LayerSlider plugin is for?
Yes on demo site. It’s LayerSlider.
Theme documentation’s located in your downloaded file from Themeforest
Please follow the theme’s instructions in /manual/index.html it will help you get through all theme features.
There are also video tutorials there.
Figured it out, thanks!
Why does the featured image for a blog post appear at the top of the post istelf? I often want to use an image from a post as the featured image so that it appears on the main page showing recent posts and then the blog page as well, of course. But when it repeats at the top of the post itself, it’s redundant and looks kind of bad.
Is there a way, using css in the editor or something, that I can keep the featured image from appearing in the blog post itself?
Thanks – Peter.
Aha! Found it: Theme Settings; Blog; unclick “Use display featured content on single post”. Voila!
Great theme, but I noticed Mercury does not display properly on iPads that are are horizontal.
You’ll see there’s content off the browser’s edge on the right, including a menu item that is not visible.
It works well vertically.
Also did you edit theme code?
re: responsiveness problems
Thank you – I checked.
Even when all plugins are turned off, the Mercury theme still cuts off the far right menu item at certain browser widths.
The theme adapts and narrows at some widths, but not all.
On an iPad orientated horizontally, the webpage is cut off. Not good.
Even when I remove all opening page content, except for the LayerSlider, the problem still remains.
Notice how the LayerSlider adapted fine – but the menu item is still cut off.
I did not edit the theme code.
1. I checked your site and there are some plugins enable. Please try to disable all plugins first.
2. Because on demo site as you can tested. It works fine on iPad both horizontal and vertical so I am sure it’s issue with your code changes, content code or plugin.
My site doesn’t pull up a thumbnail when I put the full address in a status update on fb to share it there.
How do I get it to include a thumbnail?
The fb debugger thingy says my og:image is http://wordpress.com/i/blank.jpg ... that be set to my logo, shouldn’t it?
Btw, sharing posts pulls up a thumbnail just fine. it’s only when inputting the site url that it doesn’t.
Sorry, I am not sure I understand you correctly, could you send me some screenshots with description please?
Not sure if this will work, but giving it a try. It’s the metadata that fb pull it’s thumb from when linking to the site.
How do I change the image part to my logo, which I have uploaded on my site?
As I suspected, the problem was the Jetpack plugin. Because you need to connect to Wordpress.com in order to use Jetpack’s fb feed in a widget, fb was looking to find a thumbnail from wp.com.
When I deactivated Jetpack, fb pulled the first image from my slider, which is perfect!
So my next question is, can you recommend a social plugin that will work well with your theme and allow me to put a fb feed into a widget.
Thanks so much for your quick reply to my original question. I hope this is a trend that continues, as I’m very close to launching my site.
Would it be possible to add 500px (http://500px.com/) support for the social profiles of the theme? I think that would be interesting to a lot of people
Sorry currently It doesn’t support that. I will consider to add it into the future if there are many requests from customers.
I just set up the contact page using the template page. Everything displays correctly, the form is working great except for one thing. Only the default fields (name, email and message) will go through the email. So for example if I add a phone number or company field in the form, I will not receive that information in the email that is sent to my email address.
Is it a bug or have I missed something?
Thanks in advance for your help!
Could you send your Wordpress account and FTP detail please. I will have a look.
Thanks for your answer but as I have multiple websites on the same server I’m not really confortable sharing my FTP or Wordpress admin info. I will debug it on my own. Though I’m pretty sure the issue is theme related as I haven’t installed any particular plugin or done anything with the code. Everything is straight out of the box…
Please provide an access so I can investigate your issue please.
Hi, I have a simple Blog page set up, with Page sidebar set to ‘Blog sidebar’ and Page attributes>template set to ‘Blog right sidebar’. But all I see id the blog entries as a list. In Theme settings>Blog I have unchecked ‘use display featured content on single post’ and ‘use display more story module’ (well I’ve tried all combinations but nothing seems to change. I would like it to look like a dated blog entry with latest news and events. Can you help please? Thanks, Marcus
By default every blog page display latest post first. So what are you trying to accomplish please?
Post order is fine, but I would like something that shows a date of each post. I’m using a Blog’ page for latest news and events. I selected a sidebar but it doesn’t seem to show, so all I’m left with is a series of unconnected sentences….
It displays post date on post title. The same as you can see on demo site.
It does not appear on mine. Site is still under construction, but have a look here http://hamiltonred.hamilton360.co.uk/?page_id=28
Did you edit any theme code?
No, I would not know how! Any ideas as to what I can do please? Thank you.
Did you add any post?
Yes, you can see the posts there “site under construction’ etc. Problem is they do not look like blog posts (no date etc) just odd random sentences. I have read all the instructions but cannot find any information that helps with making a blog post look like a blog post. Any ideas? Thanks.
Hi, I’m hoping this bug could get squashed in the next release:
I am using the “Gallery Masonry Fullwidth” template and every time I click to expand an image, the page scrolls back up to the top automatically. It gets really frustrating losing your place and having to scroll back down to where you left off.
Please fix this!
Thank you for reporting. I will look for better solution.
I changed the maximum number of viewable images in each gallery. Now the gallery with most images crashes the mobile version, and I cannot find where I changed this setting. Please advise….thanks.
How did you change that? Because there is no such setting in theme admin.
Very strange….I was sure I changed that. In this case, there must be a maximum number of images recommended for each gallery to avoid crashing mobile devices. How many would that be? Thanks
I am trying to get my website running but the header bar seems to be taking up too much of the screen? Can this be altered so that it is less obtrusive? or aligned to the side of my logo instead of below it.
Also when i choose a gallery as a page type how do i put text at the top of the gallery.
1. The header bar height depends on logo height. So you have to reduce your logo height.
2. There is not enough space so it pushes menu down. Try to reduce logo width or menu items.
3. Sorry currently It doesn’t support that. I will consider to add it into the future if there are many requests from customers.
Think I have found how to sort out the header size – seems to be determined by the font being used
After updating to the new WooCommerce I can´t log in to my wp-admin.
Workaround: open the function.php and delete line 175.
Next problem on WooCommerce my logo is very big. look at www.mark-noormann.de and www.mark-noormann.de/shop
Yes of course. I have an Chlid-Theme.
This happend after updating to the new WooCommerce 2.1.0
waiting for reply.
And next problem with WooCommerce: I modifiert the file templates/template-share.php but in WooCommerce I got the old look.
Sorry, it needs a custom modification. This type of customization is a bit more complex and is not covered under normal theme support.

I’m trying to get the sidebar title to be centered and a different font-face. See example here: http://www.coldwavesystems.com/about/
Can’t seem to get the CSS modifications to change anything. What is the right CSS to change the title element on the right sidebar?
Thanks! Great theme!
1. Open /css/screen.css find ”#page_content_wrapper .sidebar .content .sidebar_widget li h2.widgettitle, h2.widgettitle, h5.widgettitle” change to text-align:center
2. You can change sidebar title font face using theme admin panel > typography
thank you that worked!
ok quick question: after styling the widgets on the sidebar, now those same settings are affecting the widgets in the footer. What style can i create to override the footer settings so they look different than the sidebar widget styles? example here: http://www.coldwavesystems.com/about/
for instance, i’d like the font in the footer to be white, not light blue, i’d like to control the title element, etc
I checked your site and widget title color is white?
yeah i was able to figure it out thank you!
Hi, can you supply me with your Layer Slider Settings?
For some reason the images are not appearing as the do in the theme sample. I have created them at 1300×550, but for some reason the system is blowing them up to 4000×2000. This even goes for the images that you are using in the example.
It would be nice to have the correct settings for the layers as well.
Could you send your Wordpress account please. I will sample LayerSlider for you.
Hallo i have got the same Problem like others here. I would to deselect the View Gallery page at fullscreen Gallery. I have got deselected the check buttons from in the Gallery options but the window slide in/out wenn you entering the side.
everything is all right. I edit … Open /css/screen.css find “body #imageFlow_gallery_info” add display:none !important;
I am having problems with Social Sharing plugins. None of the plugins except for the theme’s own plugin seem to work with this template.
I saw the Pinterest overlay button on one of the websites using your template (http://www.shpfoto.com/galleries/lien-sean/).
Can you please advise which social sharing plugins can work with this template?
I hope you are able to help.
Really sorry, I can’t support on all 3rd party plugins issue. Please try to read its documentation or contact plugin author.
I recently switched my website to https, and now the page shows no logo anymore. The html reads:
a id=”custom_logo” class=”logo_wrapper” href=”https://www.mysite.com”
img src=”” alt=”” width=”0” height=”0”/
so obviously you dont see anylogo when the src is empty. now the logo and retina logo settings in the admin panel do show the link to the image files correctly, like: https://www.mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/logo.png
So why doesnt it show up?
I checked your logo URL https://www.mysite.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/01/logo.png
and it’s not found.
Well yes, first the domain I gave was an example -> mysite.com and second even if I’d use the real domain, I already reverted back to http only as for a production site it is not tolerable to have no logo at all. The question was a more general one, why doesnt the theme work in https?
Provide URL of page which has issue please.
