hi, can you tell me how versatile mega menu is? if its possible to have multiple mega menu links on nav bar? like shoes /bags etc and their respective multi level child categories in multi column drop-down with featured image with all product categories and subcategories underneath?

thanks

Hi,

Sorry for the long silence.
You can see example of mega menu on demo version. Mega menu allows to add different banners/text other information in top, bottom and right content of mega menu. Unfortunately, there is no admin option which allow to add category small image which will be shown above appropriate category in megamenu dropdwon, but you can do that by applying custom css styles.

Thanks for your interest in Minimalism theme

Hey,

I installed the template and it is working very well! Great job! There is only one thing missing: the ‘About us’ and ‘Newsletter’ section is not inside the source code. Could you provide me the code? Thanks a lot! Phil

Hi,
Thank you for your kind words
It seems that you are running 1.9.2.2 magento version but didn’t applied patch for that version. Please contact us via ticket system so we can sent you patch for that magento version.

How to add dynamic text to the home page slider? Where can add the text? Thanks!

Hi,
All the information which is displayed in slider you can edit in static blocks (CMS -> Static blocks) with id minimalism_slider_X. Do not forget to disable WYSIWYG editor while editing static content since that editor breaks HTML mark up. How to disable it is described in theme documentation.

Does this have configureable swatches? I am not finding a sample of it in action from the live preview pages.

If, for whatever reason this theme does not work on our magento install, are we able to exchange it with another of your themes, assuming it is the same price.

Unfortunately, Envato doesn’t allow authors to provide any exchanges.

I want to change the top header menu (MY ACCOUNT, MY WISHLIST, etc.) but I can`t find where can do. Could you help me?

Hi,
Several links from my account block you can change in static block with id footer_links. Several links (Site Map, Search Terms, Advanced Search, RSS, Contact Us) you can edit in this file: app\design\frontend\minimalism\default\layout\local.xml. If you want to remove My account and My wishlist link from header please contact us via ticket system and we will send exactly instructions.

Possible to have “Sold” label? I think would make more sale

Hi,
You can display either simple Sale label or percentage of discount.

Hi, how can I display retina ready images on my product page? All the pictures in my catalog are hi res but not on the product pages… Thanks Marc

Hi,
Product images for devices with retina screens are generated by magento itself. If you are not satisfied with the image quality we recommend to check your image source since for now we see that your image is not a high quality image.

With best regards, Dylan

Hi, we only use hi res images for our products (2000×1333px and 72dpi). After enabling the “Retina Ready” mode in your theme the pictures in the catalog changed to a hi res version but not on the product pages. So there has to be something that is not working properly or something I need to tweak in order to make it work.

Best regards, Marc

Hi Marc,
Contact us via ticket system so we can check that more thoroughly. Probably one of your custom modules (we see that at least you use custom zoom on product page) breaks theme behavior.

hey when are you updating this to magento 2.0?

Honestly, we wouldn’t say that Magento 2 is the best option at this point. Here are the reasons why:

  • Lack of experts:
This version is quite young, and whatever all of the Magento agencies say about their deep knowledge of the platform, they don’t know it as good as they claim to. So should you have a problem with M2, chances are you won’t get a high quality solution, at least not right now. And more to that, because of lack of deep knowledge & understanding of the platform, it will take a longer time to resolve any problem.
  • Lack of extensions:
There are not that many extensions available right now. And those available are not perfect and their price is way too high. For instance, a blog module for Magento 1.9 is free, while a similar module for Magento 2 costs around $300.
  • Development cost:
Right now the cost of Magento 2 development is huge, and should you read the Magento 2 documentation, you’ll understand why. E.g., it takes almost 10 mins to install Magento 2; compare it to a 2-min installation of Magento 1. And now just imagine how long it will take to customize M2 or improve its functionality. Sure, it’s up to you which version to use. If you have enough time & money to use Magento 2, you’re free to do this. However, my advice is that it’s better to use M1 now and then upgrade to M2 in a year or so.

So for now we are not sure when exactly we will release new theme version compatible with the magento2.

How is the blog on this? The link in the preview is broken.

Also, this hasn’t been updated in 2 years. When will this be updated next?
