Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

How to adjust the positioning of the logo?

Make sure you have the 1.3+ version of the theme (by looking in the style.css file). Navigate to the “Custom CSS” textarea under the “General Settings” tab of the “Morphis Theme Options” panel. Use these lines of CSS codes to adjust your logo position to your preference:

#img-logo {
    margin-top: -30px;

How do I update the theme to its latest version?

You can re-download the theme and unzip the download package as you have done from previously on your first download/purchase and copy all the files from the morphis.zip file and copy it over the old version.

The portfolio/blog thumb circles are really not perfectly round like in your demo. What should I do?

The theme does not come with an automatic image cropping feature, it assumes that you have a “square” cropped image (similar width and height dimension e.g. 450px width – 450px height). So if you upload a “rectangle” dimension image file, the thumbs will not be a perfectly round circle and thus would be some kind of an “oval/elliptical-shape”.

How do I disable the “comments” (add comment / comments list) function for a specific page?

By default, new blogs on WordPress.com will have the Discussion module hidden. You can reveal it by clicking on Screen Options on the top right of your “Add New/Edit” page/post, and checking the box that says Discussion.

On the bottom of the page will appear, two checkboxes in which one is “Allow Comments”. Uncheck this to disable comments in that particular post.

I don’t want the theme to be “responsive”. How do I disable that feature?

You should remove all the CSS ”@media” queries found in these files:

  1. style.css
  2. css/skins/light/light.css
  3. css/skins/dark/dark.css
  4. inc/theme-styles.php

And in the “header.php” file, look for this line of HTML meta tag code and remove it:

<meta name="viewport" content="width=device-width,initial-scale=1">

I have tried installing the theme several times and i keep receiving the message “Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again.”. What am I doing wrong?

There can be a few ways to solve this:

1.) If you have “JetPack” plugin installed and activated, try deactivating it first before uploading and installing the theme.

2.) Some web hosts have very limited “Maximum Upload Size” set in its “php.ini” settings file. The “morphis.zip” file has a file size of 9MB+. Contact your hosting provider as to how you can increase its “Maximum Upload Size”.

3.) Lastly, try unzipping first “morphis.zip” file and upload its resulting folder through FTP in ”/wp-content/themes/” folder.
