Thanks for your reply, Alex. I understand. Good luck with the wordpress release! I will definitely buy when it comes out.

I’m sorry mixer I love this theme but If I would have known the contact form didn’t I wouldn’t of bought it. I just can’t understand how people can build a theme and not include a working contact page. I still love the theme but am a bit frustrated none the less.

I too love this theme and will buy it once it has a working contact page, hopefully an AJAX contact form to fit the theme.

Beautiful written code otherwise,

I like this theme and want to purchase, but I’m REALLY concerned that when I preview the theme, my computer completely starts slowing down, scrolling is difficult even in non-web programs.

Why is that an issue? Is that something you can resolve? Is anyone else encountering this? This is the only theme I’ve looked at that effects the entire computer this way. My CPU usage goes and STAYS at 100%. I’m certain it centers around the jquery effect, but a lot of other sites use jquery, but do not max out CPU .

Please give me feedback on this before I purchase.

@k_grinde I use firefox latest and ie8 and I have not encountered what you have found. I have only viwed the theme on this demo here,as Im waiting for the wordpress version before I purchase the theme.

I found the theme loads quickly, although its pretty big I checked it on pingdom.cpm and you can see the results here http://tools.pingdom.com/?url=http://csscollector.com/portfolio/naturel/&treeview=0&column=objectID&order=1&type=0&save=true

It’s a good theme and some good code, I can’t see any reasons for poor cpu performance. My guess is your box may be trying to load something, or there may be a conflict somewhere.

Verdict: I don’t think its the theme, Ive previewed several here and naturel theme is certainly faster than many others I’ve seen on the demos.

I’ve done a little more testing too. It does seem to be a theme issue, but as it relates to Chrome. It does not use such high resources in FF and IE. But it really does in Chrome. It loads fast and fine, but it seems to really hold something in memory. I switched to the #2 home page option and the resources dropped down to normal, so it seems to be the home page #1 theme in chrome.

I tried the theme in chrome today. 4 seconds to load fully on an empty cache. No other sites loaded in the bowser. Also tried theme home #2 Various inner pages and back to home again.

Silly question, but do you have all the browser plugins installed and running javascript/flash/ etc ??? On by machine it uses between 49,000k-51,000k on chrome.exe

windows 2 mbit connection 1.2 dual core 4 gig memory, nothing special here… try yslow or firebug http://developer.yahoo.com/yslow/

How long until you code a fully working contact page?

this week it will be done

Hi dan,
Haven’t you forgot to buy this theme?
now it is with working contact page :)

Hi. I bought this theme and cannot get the menu to stay in place in internet explorer and on some pages the sidebar menu also drops down the page too.

Can you please help me out with this, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks. Chewbaka.

Hi Chewbaka,
Can I see the site link?

Thanks for the quick reply, i realise that it may be my fault that it isn’t working correctly so as i said, any help would be much appreciated.

The link is as follows:

with the right side menu dropping down the page – There are a lot of pages there, but if you check right hand menu and click on some of them – some are ok and some not.

Thanks again. Chewbaka.

Chewbaka, I was bored so I took a look at your site and I see the problem. Your menu is really messed up. You are kissing some closing tags and have some pages listed here and not there. I cleaned it up and I think this will help. All you need to do is copy and paste and of course move the “current” class tot eh correct page:

<!-- Begin main Menu Bar --> <div class="ddsmoothmenu" id="smoothmenu"> <ul class="lavaLamp"> <li class="current_page_item"><a href="index.php" title="Home">Home</a></li> <li><a href="about.php" title="About">About</a> <ul> <li><a href="blockpaving.php" title="Block Paving">Block Paving</a> </li><li><a href="patios.php" title="Stylish Patios">Patios</a></li> <li><a href="walls.php" title="Walling">Walling</a></li> <li><a href="paths.php" title="Paths And Walkways">Paths</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="services.php" title="Services">Services</a> <ul> <li><a href="downloads.php" title="downloads">Gardening Ebooks</a></li> </ul> </li> <li><a href="services.php" title="Services">Services</a></li> <li><a href="blog.php" title="Blog">Blog</a></li> <li><a href="contact.php" title="Contact">Contact</a></li> </ul> </div> <!-- End main Menu Bar -->

Good luck,

Thanks Scott!

Hey Scott.

Thanks for the tip but now the index.php page is jumping up and down in firefox and still all over the place in internet explorer.

Any other suggestions please.

Sorry i did not explain myself correctly in the last post.

When you hover over the menu it starts jumping up and down only on “About” and “Features”.

Menu is all over the place in internet explorer.

Any other suggestions would be much appreciated.

I think you should read this article to setup your menu rightly.

Yeah thanks i checked jquery.lavalamp.min.js and it is already replaced with the fix so i am no further to solving the problem.

Gonna have to mess about with it until i can get it working correctly in both browsers.

Just dawned on me that you’re using the WP version of this theme and I gave you instructions for the xHTML version. Sorry.

EDIT : OK, no you’re not, you just changed all your pages to php vs. HTML .

How are you coming with the working contact page?

Hello Scott,
This week I’ll add an working contact form there.

Haven’t seen a post about an update. Do we need to download again for the contact form?

yes, you should download it again

Hi finn and author.

Firstly thanks for all your help on this and yes you are correct i changed all to php and also my browser was the wrong one so my aplogies to you on that.

As regards the contact page i just used a sendmail.php script and it works fine, here is the code:

<? include("inc/contacthead.php");?> <!-- Begin Content --> <div class="content" id="layout_with_sidebar"> <!-- Begin Content Left --> <div class="cont"><div class="top_corner"></div> <!-- Begin Post Item --> <div class="post"> <!-- Begin Page Title Area --> <div class="title"> <!-- Begin Page Title --> <h1>Contact Us</h1> <!-- End Page Title --> </div> <!-- End Page Title Area --> <!-- Begin Page Content --> <p>Please feel free to contact us at any time We are here to help in any way we can.</p> <p> We have staff standing by to deal with any matters you need to discuss regarding Block Paving, Garden Design consultancy, Extensions, Mini Digger hire, or any other subject on our website.</p> <div class="divider"><!-- // Divider line --></div> <!-- Begin Title Area --> <div class="title"> <!-- Begin Title --> <h3>Send Us An Mail</h3> <!-- End Title --> </div> <!-- End Title Area --> <!-- // Start Contact Form --> <? //========= Your Email Here! ========== $email="admin@greenandcleanlandscapes.co.uk"; //===================================== // Do not touch anything below unless you know what you are doing! function check_len(&$check, $field, $max, &$err_field, $err="", $min, $min_err="") { if (strlen($field) > $max) { if ($err == "") { $err = $msg->err_maxlen($max); } $err_field = $err; if ($check==true) $check = false; } if (strlen($field) < $min) { if ($min_err == "") { $min_err = $msg->err_minlen($min); } $err_field = $min_err; if ($check==true) $check = false; } } function check_mail(&$check, $fld, &$error_field, $invalidchars="", $blanks="") { global $msg; $expr = "^[_\.0-9a-z-]+@([0-9a-z][0-9a-z-]+\.)+[a-z][a-z]+\$"; //echo "expr=" . $expr . "<br />\n"; } else { $error_field = "invalid characters<br />\n"; } if ($check==true) $check =false; } if (strrpos($fld,' ') > 0) { if ($blanks > "") { $error_field = $blanks .
