Hi, do you have a demo of the theme where I can access the back end to see what options are available and how configurable it is please?
No, but you can learn more about Oakland using its online documentation – http://oakland-docs.cmsmasters.net/
The 4 areas below the slider, are they pulled in from the portfolio?
I would need to remove the date and the category links. Is this possible without hacking the theme?
It’s a Post Type shortcode. You may read about it here: http://oakland-docs.cmsmasters.net/?p=327 (scroll to the bottom). Yes, you may not use “Show info” and categories/date will be hidden.
Can I upload a 250×250px logo at the header?
Sure you can. But you should change your header height in Styling Options beforehand so it could fit the dimensions.
great work! very usefull. But i have a problem with the portfolio SEO URL . How can i change the url from “portfolio” to “my-SEO-name”?
I tried to change the name of page, but when enter in the item the URL change other time to “portfolio”.
Thank you for using Oakland, Stefano.
You should change .mo and .po files – in this case you’ll change the name of portfolio page for the entire site.
Please, read more about it here in our online documentation: http://oakland-docs.cmsmasters.net/?p=316
Tks but with ”.po” file i can change only the “title” of the category: Portfolio Archives but not the URL .
Try to recreate your page from scratch – the URL should be changed as well.
I tried but nothing is some from code.
I tried to create a new portfolio, a new category and type and a new items but happen the same problem, the URL first is mysite.com/namepage/ and later clickking in the item change in mysite.com/portfolio/item/
Plese some idea to change the .PHP code please

I have installed the theme but it hasn’t installed the home page, i have uploaded using Wordpress Importer and the .xml file. The menu item ‘Home’ just links to your site and the Homepage was the bit that i wanted the most from the whole theme.
Please tell me if i am doing anything wrong?
Dear Farhan, you’re registered user already and can login our support forum using your credentials.
As about your Home page issue – have you followed our online instructions on Home Page set up? http://oakland-docs.cmsmasters.net/?p=735

I am struggling to get images to display properly when they are resized. Project images are being linked to with &w=1180&h=665&zc=1 on the end.
Site in question is http://www.goodwinbuildingcontractors.co.uk/
Any help would be much appreciated.

I don’t know why, but for some reason Google fonts are not been listed. What can happend?
Hi. Thanks for using our theme.
It’s hard to say what happened. Please, submit a personal support ticket here and provide your WP and FTP credentials to figure this out.
you create amazing theme.
It possible to have JPG image in website background?
I just see Background Colored Block.
Hello. Thank you for using our theme.
Oakland has no option to set different backgrounds – png, jpg, etc. Only the color of a stripe behind the slider can be changed.
Hello, is there a way to have a “responsive” logo ?
Thank you for using our theme.
Unfortunately logo can’t be scalable.
I’ve gone to the trouble to enter all my category descriptions into the appropriate spot for SEO purposes only to find that your Archives template skips over this part and just plops in the default bloginfo(‘description’).
could you shoot me over (via comments here), an edit to that page so that if it’s on an archive page, it grabs the description for the category and inserts it as the meta description?
Hi, thanks for purchasing our product!

Is it possible for the text in the slider to become responsive, as it just doesn’t appear or gets cut off when going down to mobile.
Oh, unfortunately it’s impossible for this theme. Our newer theme Goldenway have this option, but not Oakland.
A bit disappointed as its non totally responsive if i’m honest.
Other glitches include the tabs not displaying properly on iPad using http://quirktools.com/screenfly/ to view my site http://www.legalmediations.co.uk/
Also the image within the Testimonials section i would expect the text to appear below the image rather than to the side of the image in a very small space.
Its a shame as i really like the theme and have done a lot of work on the site now.
If you could please let me know if the above is able to be changed to a more responsive approach, just re-read it and it doesn’t come across as if I’m asking a question, but I am.
Hi there. Actually I meant that the caption is hidden for small resolutions – you can’t see the text. But the slider itself should be shown on any screen type without any problem. It’s just the way it works and you can see it on our demo as well. Unfortunately there’s nothing we can do to show captions on a mobile devices in Oakland slider. Sorry.
Thanks for your response – What about the following:
tabs not displaying properly on iPad using http://quirktools.com/screenfly/ to view my site http://www.legalmediations.co.uk/
We’ve just checked the site at iPad and your tabs look awkward indeed. Have you tried to recreate them from scratch? Probably you changed something after adding tabs and somehow broke them.
Anyway, it would be nice to have access to your admin and make sure. To get our assistance you should submit a personal support ticket here, don’t forget to provide wp-admin and FTP credentials so we could fix this.
how do i change the slider image size?
There’s no way to change slider dimensions, except of the height – not in our admin panel, but changing some code would do that.
Have you actually bought our theme?
yes, bought through email@example.com. I have the theme. Would you want me to give you my link?
We are sorry, but we can’t provide you support without purchasing confirmation. One should buy our theme through Themeforest as they were elaborated exclusively for this marketplace and can’t be redistributed from another sources.
Please, submit a personal support ticket here and specify there your Item Purchase Code. You can find the purchase code in this file at “Downolads” tab on your Envato account – see the screenshot: http://cmsmasters.net/wp-content/uploads/2012/01/purchase-code-tour.jpg
Is there a booking calendar plug-in that would work well with this theme?
Hello. Unfortunately we have no information on this matter. Haven’t made any tests.
I bought the Oakland theme. Can I download the Oakland Demo?
Sure, you can, Rick. Please, follow README instructions provided in the DEMO CONTENT folder of the archive got from Themeforest.

We’re hitting a weird bug every time we try to use the ” ’ ” character on the slider manager. It reverts to a weird ”\” character whenever the previous character is used. Please advise.
Hi, thanks for using our theme.
Oh, this is the way slider capture works, you should use special code for apostrophe.
This solution is given in our FAQ – toggle #9 on this page: http://oakland-docs.cmsmasters.net/
My website does not work at all in internet explorer on 8 of the 10 computers I have tried it on only Chrome. It crashes explorer and on a smartphone it is unable to run the slider. Is there an update for this or a general fix?
The website is: freedomchoice.com
Hello. I just tried it on my Windows 7 in IE8 and it looks fine. This issue needs deeper consideration. It would be more convenient to submit a personal support ticket, describe your problem in details and provide your FTP and wp-admin data so we could study your issue deeply.
I was wondering how I go about changing the format on the posts from day/month/year to month/day/year
Please, follow to the General Settings in the WP admnin:
You may read about date formats in the official WP Codex here
I tried changing it in the general settings but it did not change the format on the blog post. I know how to change the format I guess what I was asking is where I can find the code I need to change. I thought maybe you had something in the theme’s function file that formatted it that way.
Ok. In oakland/theme/functions/template-functions.php, please, find this function:
echo '<abbr class="published" title="' . get_the_time('d/m/y') . '"><a href="' . get_day_link($y, $m, $d) . '">' . get_the_time('d') . '</a>/<a href="' . get_month_link($y, $m) . '">' . get_the_time('m') . '</a>/<a href="' . get_year_link($y) . '">' . get_the_time('y') . '</a></abbr>';
echo '<abbr class="published" title="' . get_the_time('m/d/y') . '"><a href="' . get_day_link($y, $m) . '">' . get_the_time('m') . '</a>/<a href="' . get_month_link($y, $m, $d) . '">' . get_the_time('d') . '</a>/<a href="' . get_year_link($y) . '">' . get_the_time('y') . '</a></abbr>';
echo '<abbr class="published" title="' . get_the_time('m/d/y') . '">' . get_the_time('m/d/y') . '</abbr>';
echo '<abbr class="published" title="' . get_the_time('m/d/y') . '">' . get_the_time('m/d/y') . '</abbr>'; <code /></code>
