I noticed the widths set in all the image tags are being ignored now. Can I make this theme honor the widths I already set for images in my posts?

please mention your blog address

I don’t think looking at the blog will help now since I didn’t leave anything published that had this problem. I went through all my posts and edited the images to appear as the original size and added custom css to adjust the size where necessary.

It seems like as long as I change the image size in Blogger’s composer view, those updates are reflected on the site. However, if I go to HTML view and specify my own size in the image tags that isn’t one of the Blogger official sizes, it’s ignored. This worked without issues when I was using the previous theme (Emporio).

You can consider this resolved. I never figured out what was causing this, but I already took the time to edit the old posts and using css to control the size is easier in the long run anyway.

Before this theme, I had posts that displayed multiple small images side-by-side on a single row. Now this theme is forcing each image to its own row so my posts don’t display properly. How can I make post images not default to displaying as a block?

I was using <figure> for my captions and that was what was causing them to go onto separate lines. i transferred my custom css from the old theme and it’s working properly now.

Good for you. Feel free to contact us for any help. :)

I just purchased the Oliver Theme and I’m using the boxed layout. When I view the homepage on a large monitor, only the first seven posts show up and there’s a lot of empty space. The screen fills up as soon as I start scrolling, but it makes my site look empty when it first loads.

I already use jump links after the first images and the default Blogger theme I was using before (Emporio) shows 36 posts on the home page.

I changed the “Number of posts on main page” from 7 to 12 in the “Layout” section, but this had no effect.

Is there anything I can do to make my homepage look full when the site is first loaded?

A few hours later, it seems to be working fine. It seems like the setting to change the number of posts displayed just takes a long time to go into effect.

Currently I’m using the [slider-on-homepage.xml] theme. By default, the post’s images would appear cropped.

Is there way that I can make the images appear full-sized like the [posts-on-homepage.xml] ? But I want to keep the slider.

Refer my blogger website: https://www.hasubro.art/search/label/Portrait

Thank you in advance.

First backup your theme in case anything goes wrong.
Go to Theme > Customize > Advanced > Add CSS
Paste the below code –
.post-outer .thumbo img, .post-outer, #stickyme { height: auto; }
Finally, press the Save icon.

Hi there. Themeforest emailed me that there is an update on Oliver. I created a test blog before I install it and the Homepage Slider won’t work (it doesn’t slide the photos, stays on first). Should I update? I made the test twice. Also the code on slider widget is at “true”. Sorry for the non support but it is not something I intended to do. Thanks for your precious time.

We have not updated the slider code and it’s working fine on demo. It should work for you too. Simply upload the theme and the slider should work automatically with the default images. You then have to just replace the images or add more, as mentioned in the installation guide.

Hi. I need to confirm if this template is not optimised for mobile version?

Template is optimized for mobile. It is a responsive template, so it adjusts according to screen size. Go to Theme > click the arrow beside ‘Customize’ > choose ‘Mobile Settings’ > choose ‘Desktop’ and then click Save.
Mobile option is useless, so don’t use it. :)

Hi, I am facing a Problem. This is my Blog https://www.manavsinghi.com/ Old Posts are there but New posts are not showing on the Home page. For example https://www.manavsinghi.com/2022/10/lokrang-festival-jaipur.html this was published today only.

It’s seems to be because you are using one of the reserved label name (blog, articles, stories, news). It is for seperating photo posts from blog posts like this – https://www.manavsinghi.com/search/label/News

You can replace the label name news with something else. Or even adding another label name after it will work. The last label name should not be any of the above mentioned labels (alphabetical order) if you want it show on homepage. :)

Hi author, I hope everything’s fine. If you still support this item, can you please tell me how can I remove the arrows and the circle in the middle from the slider? Thank you for your time, Eddie.

Sorry for the late response. First backup your theme in case anything goes wrong.
Now, go to Theme > Customize > Advanced > Add CSS
Paste the below code –
.fotorama__html h3:after, .fotorama__html h3:before { content: none; } .fotorama__arr--next, .fotorama__arr--prev, .fotorama__dot { display: none; }
Finally, press the Save icon.
Feel free to contact me if you need any further assistance. :)

Hi dev. I would prefer not to use the slider and just use a single picture on the homepage with my logo on it. Can you please share the code to remove the arrows and the circle in the middle? Thank you for all your help -you are the best.

...one last question please: Can I replace labels like “blog”, “stories” and “news” with my own? I am sure that I can’t as I searched the html code and couldn’t find a way around. Is there a solution to this? Thank you :-)

First backup your theme in case anything goes wrong.
Go to Theme > click the arrow beside ‘Customize’ > click on ‘Edit HTML’ > press anywhere in the code and press CTRL+F > In the search box type “NEWS” without quotes and hit Enter. You will find it 7 times. Replace all of them with your new label name. Finally press the Save icon.

Note that labels in blogger are case sensitive. Nature and nature are two different labels. Use the proper one. Hope this helps.
Also, make sure you only replace label name. Nothing before or after it. You can do the same for other name names.

You don’t need to repeat the label name in different cases like news, News and NEWS. I did it so all use cases are covered. You can replace them with three different label names.

Thanks mate. I really appreciate the time you dedicated to write all this. Best support in whole Themeforest :-)

Hi, This is such a wonderful theme. It worth every penny. I really need help on these: First, I want to remove the < previous post and next post>. Is there any CSS code for that? And secondly, how can I restrict the results to a certain label for the home page? As an example only the posts labeled “food” to be visible next to the menu. Thank you for this theme, I really love it. Have a nice day, Eddie.

I am glad to liked the theme.
First Backup your theme in case anything goes wrong.
To remove newer/older posts section -
Go to Theme > Customize > Advanced > Add CSS Paste the below code –
body .main #blog-pager { display: none; }
Finally, click the Save icon on the bottom right corner.

Sorry but blogger does not provide a way to filter posts on homepage. But this theme support excluding posts which are labelled as ‘blog’ from homepage. Like this page – https://oliverdemo4.blogspot.com/2014/04/eyes-were-along-way.html

Oh, You mean that the article with the label ‘blog’ will not be on the homepage ?. So the homepage will contain the newest articles ? How about how many posts are displayed on homepage ?

Yes, the article with the label ‘blog’ will not be on the homepage.

Number of posts displayed on homepage can be changed through –
Settings > Max posts shown on main page
:)

Hi, Wonderful theme, thanks a lot. A pre-sales question: can I change the name of the main menu to Greek? Is it translatable? Thank you, Phil.

If you mean the item names in the menu, then yes, you can change them to whatever language you like. :)

Hi. Is it possible to show permanently post title on each grid picture even before hover effect? Thanks.

First Backup your theme.
Try this code in Theme > Customize > Advanced > Add CSS –

.slideup .fullbox:before, .slideup .smallbox { opacity: 1; }

Thanks, It works fine with hover effect “slideup”. But not with hover effect “default”.

For me it’s good. I will choose the slideup effect. Thanks :grin:

Hi. How to have no labels on hover default effect? (nor visible, neither clickable). Thanks

First Backup your theme, in case anything goes wrong.

Go to Theme > Customize > Advanced > Add CSS
Paste the below code –
.post-labels.ongrid { display: none; }
Finally, press the Save icon. :)

It works fine. Thanks :grin:

Hi again. And if I want to have the same menu style on a computer screen as on a mobile screen ? Thanks.

Hi.I fixed my blog. Thanks to you! :grin: My question here is not about how to expand the size of the 3rd-level menu. It’s something else: how to have the menu on a computer screen look like the menu on mobile devices? I’f rather to use the mobile menu style everywhere, on computers too. Is it possible? Thanks for the answer.

That will need a lot of changes in a lot of places. So, it’s not possible now. But in some future update i will try to make it easy to do so.

I understand. Many thanks for your answer. :grin:

Hi author. On a computer screen – not on mobile view – how to enlarge the second level sub-menu with a greater width ? Text jumps to new lines. I would like a greater width. Thanks. :grin:

I did it with a change:

html.no-touch body #menu-v li ul .sub { width: auto; white-space: nowrap; }

So that only the second level sub-menu has nowrap. Is that good?

Thanks! :grin:

Hi. Blogger doesn’t want to save the “blog post gadget” when I try to change the posts parameters.When I click on “save”, it never ends ! I want to hide labels, social buttons, dates, comments. Impossible! Is that a Blogger or a template problem ? Thanks.

Perfectly safe

Many thanks :grin:

After I uploaded the theme file again, to fix blog problems, labels appeared again under posts. I set showLabels to false in Blog1 code, but it didn’t work!? So I added this CSS, found on this forum::

.main .post-footer .post-labels { display: none; }

And it works. That’s ok ?

Hi. On my phone, it looks great when vertical. When horizontal, there is a problem with lateral bar. Lateral bar isn’t entirely visible, as if covered by a semi-transparent footer. You can half see the end of the lateral bar under this footer color. See this picture Thanks.

Thanks. I sent you the blog address and detailled problems.

Hi. For the problem with bad formatted posts: I uploaded the theme file again.(after saving menu and slider html code) and bad formatted posts disapperead. It works again fine. I probably accidentaly altered the code. Sorry and many thanks. :grin:

Hi. Concerning the problem with lateral bar not entirely visible and cut, I found a partial solution. If I set Main background color to transparent, the problem disappears. But the appearance changes slightly, of course. That’s good for me for the moment. :grin:
