Hello, I’m still happy with the theme that I bought but I have a problem when in a gallery I would replace one or more photos. I want to change the pictures because I realize that I saved the pictures to put on my site with a bad format. (In this connection is that to have the best record should reduce the photo to a height of 800 pixels by example and do “save for web” in Photoshop?) So when I change my site, sometimes the picture that is displayed is still the old although I deleted the “media” tab. Here’s how I do it: I first remove the photos in “media” and I will return to the gallery. Then I realize that the gallery has more pictures. I “edit” and I import new photos … I leave that one to the “put a picture in a” valid and I “update”. But sometimes it is the old photo that appears again! Is what I proceeded the wrong way? Thank you in advance for your help … Regards

Hi there,

I actually updated this theme with a brand new way of adding images to your posts!

It looks like this: http://cl.ly/image/3j220g133n29

I’ve added it to a few of my themes actually. So that you can easily add and remove and re-order your images.

I think maybe you are using an older version. I suggest you download the latest version, it will probably solve your issues ;)

Hi! I wrote you days ago about a code for changing photo background, don’t know if you remember. Anyway, all work now! I’m writing to ask you something else, my customer would like to use a page homepage style, but with a different gallery! I tried to create another page selecting “homepage” but it shows empty. I’d like to know if it’s possible and/or if I can make this page (and only this) dark (all site is white style). Hope I’ve explained myself well! Thanks a lot.

If I refresh for one moment it seems black…then white. Do you notice? Is it possible there’s other code that overwrite that one? I really don’t understand because it appears so simple… I’m really sorry to bother you but if a simple thing doesn’t work I get mad . (if it was a difficult one ok…but..argh!).

You have a custom background set to white via Appearance->Background.

oh great! It worked :). Thx

Please help me. I want to change dimensions for the image in full screen, to be greater than they are in slide-show. Where can I find picture size manipulations for the full screen? Thanks in advance.

Thanks again for your help, this new v1.4 is great. If possible, I would like to change only the dimensions of the images in full screen, so they are larger than images in the slide-show.

As mentioned above you can’t change one and not the other. What you can do is use CSS to prevent the default view from getting too big.

Glad you like the updates!

Thanks again for your help. I’ll manipulate the CSS if needed.

Hi, it is probably obvious, but I am trying to get rid of the line that appears on across the menu text when you hover over it. Can u help.

Pre purchase question: is it possible to change from static to liquid grid? Would love this theme if the thumbnails where dynamic and edge-to-edge in the browser. Like this theme, for example,: http://pexetothemes.com/demos/expression_wp/

I created a mobile version on purpose to prevent issues with the default gallery type (wide-screen scroller), which wouldn’t work well with a fluid grid.

Thats a no. Too bad :(

I would like to put just 3 galleries on a line in homepage, how can i do this? thanks

Hi Cat,

I’m not sure what you mean. Are you looking to change the default 4 column structure to 3 columns?

Ok it is ok! thanks!

I have a problem to edit the file dark.css (in order to change .sf-menu ul li > a:hover => #background) I can’t change the permission, can you help me?!

Thanks Catherine

Hi Catherine,

You should really avoid making direct edits to your dark.css file, so if you ever have to update the theme you won’t lose your edits.

I recommend you install a Custom CSS plugin to add your css edits. It will also help with any server permission issues (that is server side anyway, not theme issue).

Thanks it is perfect!

I am interested in your theme and have a few questions about the blog and post pages.

Are you using featured image on the blog and posts?

I want the images, or Featured image, on the single blog page to be a different (full) sized image than on the blog page. Is it easy to change this?

I want flexibility to edit the thumbnail size on the blog page.

Yes I am using featured images for the blog. By default the images resize to 650 wide without losing proportions so the height isn’t hard cropped.

Its super easy to change your cropping though. If you open content.php you’ll see this:

<img src="<?php echo aq_resize( wp_get_attachment_url( get_post_thumbnail_id(), 'full' ),  650, 9999, false ); ?>" alt="<?php echo the_title(); ?>" />
So if you want to for example change them to 650px by 300px with hard crop you would just change to this:
<img src="<?php echo aq_resize( wp_get_attachment_url( get_post_thumbnail_id(), 'full' ),  650, 300, true ); ?>" alt="<?php echo the_title(); ?>" />

Image resizing is done “on the fly” via a custom function that uses built-in WordPress functions so you don’t have to do any image “regeneration” and I do NOT use timbthumb so there isn’t any security issue.

I wish to turn off slideshow. Would be glad if you could tell me where and how?

When I enter a gallery, a slideshow starts rolling. It lasts for about three seconds. I want the slideshow to stop rolling, and let people swipe pictures manually.

Oh ok. So you just want to disable the automatic scrolling. This is pretty easy.

See js/royalslider-init.js lines 12-16:

autoPlay: {
 enabled: true,
 pauseOnHover: true,
 delay: 5000

Simply set the autoPlay enabled parameter to false instead of true.

ps: Incase you missed it there was an update recently for a better method of adding images to your galleries – http://www.wpexplorer.org/changelogs/photojax/

Here are questions need your big help.

1. I want to know whether it is able to make the location of header (logo with menu) be fixed on the top when i scroll down every page. I try to modify the style.css but in vain.

2. I revise header.php to make audio player is able to show on every page. Is there any method to make the music not repeat/reload when page changing?

Robert http://robertchang.tw

1. To make the header fixed with CSS alone would be very difficult. You would have to give the header a fixed height, a fixed position and center the inner element. Would take a lot of modifications as well as CSS edits.

Using JS would be easier but still a lot of work. Here is a guide I found that might be helpful: http://css-tricks.com/persistent-headers/

If you aren’t sure how to do it I would recommend seeking help:

2. The only way to make the audio not repeat is to “AJAXIFY” your entire site. So when you click on another page rather then re-loading the page it uses AJAX to pull the page content onto the homepage.

Hi! A couple (again :P) questions:

I’d like to add some code in a category page (this one: http://www.gianlucamaroli.it/galleries-category/musica/ ). Is it possible? I don’t find a way to do it.

I’d also like to change the dimension and colour of the top menu font. Can you please give me some advice or tell me which file I have to change? (I suppose it is style.css but I am not sure where to “put my hands”).

Thank you so much.

- I’m not quite sure what you mean by “some code”. Are you trying to add a function, html, text..? And where on the page? Please let me know so I can point you in the right direction.

- It is CSS you need to change, but don’t edit style.css, because then if you ever want to update your theme you may lose your changes. You should use a plugin such as this: http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/screenshots/

To change the font it would be something like:

#navigation .sf-menu a { font-family: 'YOUR CUSTOM FONT NAME' !important; }

You could also maybe try a fonts plugin instead as well: http://wordpress.org/plugins/wp-google-fonts/

I’m not sure what you mean by “dimension” though.

Thanks! Sorry I wrote 11 days ago then I disappeared.

1- With “some code” :) I mean html (I’d simply like to put the same social network links that are in homepage under the galleries)

2- Dimension of the font I mean…sorry maybe I literally translated from italian… I mean font-size! Menu appears a little too small for me.

Thanks again

1. If you want social links in the footer, the best way to do it is to copy your HTML and place it directly into footer.php

2. Sure changing the font size of the menu would require adding a simple line of CSS to your site. Example:

#navigation .sf-menu a { font-size: 16px; }
#navigation .sf-menu ul a { font-size: 14px; }#navigation .sf-menu a { font-size: 16px; }
#navigation .sf-menu ul a { font-size: 14px; }

Hi, in the Theme I setup to display aloe galleries that have category Home. How can I change the order of the list in which the galleries appear on the homepage. Thank You in advance for your answer.

Hi there,

The posts display in the order in which they were published. To change the order I would recommend changing the dates, but you can also use a plugin for that – http://www.wpexplorer.org/knowledgebase/changing-post-order-portfolio-services-highlights-staff-etc/

I’ve somehow managed to do something wrong when I customized the website.

Is it possible to make the pictures in gallery bigger. I know its responsible, but is it possible to perhaps make the percent of the image bigger on every monitor?

1. Open content-galleries.php and edit the image sizes on line 41:

<?php echo aq_resize( wp_get_attachment_url( $attachment), 9999, 700, false ); ?>

If you notice the width is unlimited (9999) and the height has a max of 700px;

You can also edit js/royalslider-init.js line 25:

autoScaleSliderHeight: 700,

That will change the responsive height of the gallery slider.

In my blog page, I make the photo bigger but in the end squeezing the sidebar to the bottom and don’t know how to make it smaller and be back to its right position. Thanks in advance for your answer.

Robert http://robertchang.tw

I’m not seeing the issue, did you fix it? Or is it only in a specific browser?

Hi, is it possible to change the default 4 column structure on the home page to 5 columns. Sorry if this has been asked a million times already. Not sure how to search through comments.

ok, thank you. I’ll give it a go. As long as I keep a record of the changes I make I can’t go too far wrong :p

Rather then keeping a record, I would recommend adding your custom CSS via a plugin – http://wordpress.org/plugins/simple-custom-css/

Good idea. I’ll give it a go. I love this theme. You’ve done an awesome job. Thank you

hi, i want to add captions at the bottom of the images. How do I do this.

My only guess is that your theme is out of date -http://www.wpexplorer.org/changelogs/photojax/

hi, can you please tell me how to update the theme?

2 options I recommend:

1. Re-download and replace all files via FTP (easiest) 2. Use a plugin – wordpress.org/plugins/easy-theme-and-plugin-upgrades/

hi, i want to add captions at the bottom of the images. How do I do this.

Hi, we would like some help in choosing one of your themes to buy and we are new to WP. A different theme on themeforest has a one page template we really like but we need more pages. Can you please tell us if one of your themes is the same as this other theme? We are also looking for infinite scroll. Very sincere thanks!

Please send us a private message via our profile page so we can recommend something if possible. Thank you for considering us!

First, great theme. I’m working with your template and I’d like to make some changes in the header. I prefer the responsive view, and I’m wondering how I can get a similar header for the normal view. I mean, I want the logo in the center of the header and the menu just below. Somethink like this:

Of course, keeping the responsive functionality.

Hope you can help me.

You just need to add some custom CSS to your site, it’s pretty simple. Example:

#logo { float: none; width: 100%; text-align: center; }
#logo img { display: inline; }
#navigation { position: inherit; right: auto; top: auto; margin: 30px 0 0; }
#navigation .sf-menu { text-align: center; }
#navigation .sf-menu > ul > li { display: inline-block; }

I tested in the browser, should work good and well with responsive.

Looks great. Finally I did it my way, but your code works ok too. Thanks a lot.

Hello. Everything is working well but when I click on the thumbnails on the home page I would like to go directly to the large images without having to click the magnifying icon. How can I do this?

I’m not quite sure how possible this is. The slider images are being called via an AJAX function which loads them onto the screen, you would have to somehow alter the javascript so when you click it loads the slider but then instantly triggers the royalslider full-screen function. It would probably take me a few hours just testing to see if its possible, for this reason I unfortunately can not assist with the customization.
