Never mind. Think I fixed it by re uploading the updated proffet theme. lol thanks man
delighted you figured it out
1. I’d like to remove the Author details from the blog page and each of the individual post pages as seen http://goo.gl/roOD2R and http://goo.gl/roOD2R. Please advise best way to do this
2. Can I also shorten the length of content form the individual posts which is displayed on the main blog page?
thanks for getting in touch!
search for a function called
You can adjust the code in there to remove the author details.

Re: 3 – your welcome
Good man! Thanks
hi i update the woocomerce and everything at my site is wrong ! same promblem with afrazier777. i tried to re upload theme but id didnt work with me. could you tell me what to do!
What “didn’t work”
a.) Is your frontend site ok now?
b.) Are you just seeing the warning message in the WordPress backend?
If a. is still an issue you’ve not updated the theme correctly – I would recommend uploading the files manually via ftp/ssh
I´ve just purchased for this theme but when I try to install the zip, it appears the following message:
” The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.
Theme install failed. “
What went wrong?
thanks for your purchase!
You need to unzip this zip file and inside you will find an INSTALLME folder which has the theme inside
Ok, I unzip this zip and install proffet.zip which is inside of INSTALLME.
Yip that’s it
I want to change the width of the main navigation bar. I edit some css in /proffet/css/layout.css for change the colour, but now I don´t know how can I change that. Will this produce any conflict with the responsive layout?
in summary – don’t change the width
It will absolutely impact on the responsive elements of theme – you’ll need to know exactly what you’re doing (plus it’s unsupported!).
I’d like to make specific words in the titles of my pages bold. For example NEW LISTING: Sugar Free Candy, where NEW LISTING is bold. I can do this if another theme is enabled, but not with your theme. Can this be fixed?
You mean like this?
The page title in WordPress for this page is simply entered as:
<strong>This is bold</strong> and this is not
Hope this helps,
- I can use the wide slider on the homepage, and change options and the language for the top menu (Log in, cart, checkout) how are these two things possible?
1.) I’m not 100% sure what you’re questions are? Do you mean how do you add the wide slider to your homepage? If so, this is a different page template (this is included in the theme manual.)
3.) the top menu items are located in /proffet/woocommerce/config.php
Yes, I add now the wide slider but the arrow keys to move through the slide don´t appear.
can you email me an example of the problem on your site to firstname.lastname@example.org
I´ve just changed the language for the top menu (Log in, cart, checkout) but I can´t do the same with the cart menu (YOUR CART CONTENTS, Item, View cart and checkout) I tried it in config.php too without good results.
I like the theme but need to build a multi-language shop. Will the Proffet theme support WPML or WooCommerce Multilingual? Will I be able to translate all product details such as tags, attributes etc. to multiple languages?
Thanks for info!
I have a good few customers using WPML – it should be fine yes If you do encounter any issues with WPML and Proffet I will promise to resolve them asap.
I purchased the theme and am currently implementing WPML. First item I found to be not translateable is the “taglines” (teaser introtexts) in the 4 “TF featured content” widgets on the Homepage Middle Widget Areas 1-4 position. The widget titles translate fine using the WPML string editor, but the tag lines do not.
Thanks – Sebastian
Let me take a look and I’ll get back to you within 24 hours.
any news on the “TF featured content” widget? It does not work with WPML, it will only display the page excerpt in default language, no matter what language the user chooses. Is it possible to fix this, or do I need to recreate those teasers with a multilanguage text widget?
very sorry about the delay. WPML are currently reviewing this at the moment so I’ll be back to you as soon as I have an update from them – hopefully it shouldn’t take too much longer.
Installed it on my subdomain for testing before launch and the theme is broken:
What did I do wrong?
Now whenever I change my theme options, the theme gets broken!!! What is happening!!! No one is responding!!!!
sorry for the delay in response – I’m travelling at the minute but will be back at my office in about 12 hours – from looking at this quickly – have you installed WooCommerce?
It looks like you haven’t.
Pls. email me your login details if you can’t figure it out in the meantime (check if WooCommerce is installed!) and I’ll take a look asap when I get to the office – my email is email@example.com
I have trouble with internet explorer:
On windows XP running IE8 – work OK
On windows 7 running IE8 – does not work at all
On windows 7 running IE9+ – Compatibility issues missing fonts and a lot of bugs.
On windows 8 – works ok on all IE versions from 8 to 11.
I have updated, and reinstalled the theme, and updated all of my plugins including woocommerce.
please can you check and see what is the problem? your theme demo works on all platforms and that’s how i want it too
site is: www.bconnect.co.il
Hi there Talooz,
As you say the main demo site http://proffetdemo.themesforge.com/ works fine on all the platforms you list above – therefore this is down to something you’ve customized on the theme which unfortunately I cannot support.
My advice would be to roll back your customizations and re-apply step by step to isolate where your issues start.
Hey, As i mentioned, i have reinstalled the theme, also on default settings. it wasn’t an issue with my customizations because i haven’t done much.
Anyways, after a simple check, the issue was with tfbasedetails-fonts &tfbasedetails-body-fonts. It was out-of-the-box issue, so you better sort it out. probably because it is an Hebrew website. as soon as i disabled those two scripts, everything works properly.
Great that you figured it out!
Ah ok so the issue is support for Hebrew character sets – I will look into this. It may also be that some Google web font sets don’t work well with Hebrew.
My website is www.shop.thebloodhounds.com I just bought this template I am trying to change the color in the main navigation the dark into orange at the same time I want to put categories just like this website http://www.chinabuye.com/ they have the categories on the left and have orange style on it. Please let me know how to do it. Thanks.
thanks for getting in touch and sorry about the delayed response.
To change the menu gradient I would recommend you generate a custom gradient css rule using this:
You can then drop in the css into /proffet/css/custom.css
background: #ffa84c; /* Old browsers */
/* IE9 SVG, needs conditional override of 'filter' to 'none' */
background: -moz-linear-gradient(top, #ffa84c 0%, #ff7b0d 100%); /* FF3.6+ */
background: -webkit-gradient(linear, left top, left bottom, color-stop(0%,#ffa84c), color-stop(100%,#ff7b0d)); /* Chrome,Safari4+ */
background: -webkit-linear-gradient(top, #ffa84c 0%,#ff7b0d 100%); /* Chrome10+,Safari5.1+ */
background: -o-linear-gradient(top, #ffa84c 0%,#ff7b0d 100%); /* Opera 11.10+ */
background: -ms-linear-gradient(top, #ffa84c 0%,#ff7b0d 100%); /* IE10+ */
background: linear-gradient(to bottom, #ffa84c 0%,#ff7b0d 100%); /* W3C */
filter: progid:DXImageTransform.Microsoft.gradient( startColorstr='#ffa84c', endColorstr='#ff7b0d',GradientType=0 ); /* IE6-8 */
Re: the categories – this would need custom coding and is beyond the scope of support.
I loved the theme! Please. The default configuration of blog page doesn’t work properly. I would like to know, what file contains the template of the blog page, so I could customize by my self.
Thank you very much!
Hi there Felipe,
sorry for the delayed response – the default blog config starts in index.php and extends out from there – you will see this in the code. But let me check – the blog config should be fine – what is your issue?
Thanks for the response. When I config the Blog and the Home pages, they dont work properly, I think this is because I completely changed the index page… that’s it… answered! thank you!
ok no problem
Like it can be watched in the “live preview”, we would like to put the logo at the same level that the search box and cart.
Thank you very much.
If your logo size is approx. 190px*55px it should be fine
My product image zoom is disabled, can you tell why?
have you installed this free plugin to enable image zoom?
yes. it’s installed. Can you answer me that and tell me how can I enlarge the height of the main product image? Thank you.
I’m therefore unsure as to why it’s not working – you shouldn’t need to configure anything else to make it work just like it does here:
To change the thumbnail size you should read this:
For the main product image I recommend it should be 500px* 500px at a minumum
I discovered, it was in conflict with the googleapps library of jquery, when I changed the position of the script it worked!
glad you figured it out
Is it possible to put a left sidebar in the “shop homepage: Default”?
I want to have slides and left sidebar at the same time.
Not at present no – but it’s a good suggestion so I’ll add it to the roadmap for implementation soon
I am glad for it. I hope you add this soon. It´s a very good option.
I have problems with the sizes of product images.
Whatever size I choose in settings, I get a different one.
Is there any way of changing this correctly?
Is it possible resize images automatically instead of cropping?
WooCommerce/WordPress will auto generate correctly sized thumbs for the different page templates as long as your original raw image is large enough – I recommend using raw images of at least 500*500px for best results.
Are you finally adding a left sidebar in the “Homepage: wide slider”?
It’s still on the roadmap It’s probably another few weeks away yet – stay tuned
The woocommerce shop with the Proffet theme and WPML multi language is ready and just about to launch.
However, I have a severe problem.
When submitting the checkout page, the process stalls displaying an infinite spinning icon.
The “thank you” or “success” page is never displayed.
This is independant of the payment type selected (try “Bank transfer” or “Cheque”).
I am completely at a loss at how to debug this.
What should I do? How can I find the error?
I am happy to supply all neccessary access data.
Thank you, Sebastian
Hi there sescha,
Can you send me a direct link to you shop so I can review? firstname.lastname@example.org
It sounds like you have a plugin conflict. To debug this you should use firebug or Chrome dev tools and see if you have any errors in the console when the spinner loads.
What I typically do is deactivate all plugins (except WooCommerce) and test the checkout process. If it works, then re-activate one by one to find your problem plugin.
thank you for getting back to me so quickly.
I have researched some more in woo and wpml forums and it seems that some people had similar problems due to php memory limits. I have increased the value to 128M and now the checkout works.
Seems that WPML draws a lot of memory in addition to WP itself. I consider the issue resolved as the checkout now works as expected.
A possible help for others: The AJAX checkout masks the problem by not displaying any php memory errors, just the spinning wheel. This is why the cause was not very obvious.
Thanks again for replying,
Delighted you got it working.
That indeed is a very subtle bug and would cause a lot of misdirection in debugging!
I will also raise this with the WooCommerce guys in case other WooCommerce customers are suffering from it.
