hello there and what an amazingly simple and elegant theme.
1- I noticed that the sound goes off while on a mobile device. Is there any way this could not happen so that we can have the sound?
2- Is there any way to have a unique image for each chapter (page)?
3- Is there a way to place an additional sound (something like someone narrating the story) on top of the rain sound? we want this actually to be like play on demand, not automatically.
1) It is a default behavior, in most cases it’s not technically possible.
2) No, there is no way to transition between them smoothly because the rain would have to be deleted first and that would look awkward. Secondly, ghost does not allow to set a featured image for a post yet.
3) You could insert a media player in the post content if you want it on demand, something like a soundcloud embed for example.
Thanks and cheers!
I would like to use this theme, can I have an instrumental play besides the rain storm sound?
You would have to modify the rain sound file in an audio editing application to include anything else.
Hi, I am currently using the ghost.org 30 day trial and I recently purchased this theme. I have uploaded the file and although my blog has the audio sound, there is currently no background photo. I did not think this theme actually came with a background photo but I am also completely lost on how I am supposed to upload a photo to this custom theme. Please help and please excuse my lack of knowledge. Thank you!
There should be an area in the backend where you can upload a blog background image -> that’s the one we use as a rain background.
this theme is the greatest, any news on the wp version?
Thank you very much, we are working really hard on it. You can follow us on our facebook page, so you’ll be informed immediately after the release

The audio piece doesn’t seem to work on iPhone or iPad. Can this be enabled? Please let me know.
It is a default behavior to not be able to autoplay audio on mobile devices (they say it’s highly annoying) so in most cases it’s not technically possible.
Hi, love this template and am considering it. My question is can it be used as a standalone HTML template without Ghost? I’ve looked over the CSS and HTML files and it looks possible, am I correct?
Thank you for your question. Pure HTML version is not available right now, so if you want to use it, you have to also use a GHOST platform. But we are working on WP version, which will be out soon.
Thanks for getting back to me. I looked over the code on your demo as well as another site using the theme. It seems that in the index page you could replace the content of the 4 Divs with what ever text you and use the CCS to style it. Is that correct?
I ask because I like the theme and have a potential use for it but know nothing about Ghost and don’t even know what it is used for. I am thinking of a static 4 page website. One page scrolling into the next just as you have the demo set up. So it would not be updated or added to once it was configured. And it seems that some alteration in the CSS as far as font style and then dropping the code into the index page should do the trick.
Am I missing something here? Like I said I am not familiar at all with Ghost but it does seem that the layout could be used and then just making the needed alterations right in the page with CSS would do the trick. Am I missing something?
Yeah, there are I think only 3 files where you can just delete a few dynamic ghost wrappers and have a HTML version done very quickly.
Is it possible to make the menu button show the table of contents from a post page instead of the author’s profile?
We had to make it like that because it’s not possible to list posts when in a single post view, the loop does not allow it. When ghost.org makes this a possibility, we plan to update it like you suggested.
need snow theme now!
Thank you very much ! We will consider the snow theme too, thank you for inspiration
Respect! That’s just what I have to say to this amazing and simple theme.
Thank you for your kind words!
Hello there, this is a lovely theme and I am very interested in it. Any news about the WordPress version being released? Cheers
The WordPress version is already 70% finished and should be released in 1-4 weeks, you can follow us to know when its available.
Hi. I went to the trouble of learning about virtual servers to set this up, and I am happy with the result, http://giftitforwardtogether.com, so thanks. Trouble is, there is no social sharing options. I have tried going to ghost to find out how to include them, but I wonder if you have some kind of solution in mind?
The sharing is available at the bottom after you click on the post title (in your case i.e. GIFT).

Any roadmaps in place for developing RAIN for Ghost 4.x.x? Provided I could publish static posts, I would by all means be sold.
Anticipating your reply,
Henri van Blarenberghe
Thank you for pointing it out. We will look into it when we finish the current tasks on our todo list, probably later next week.
Hello Prompt, forest background image (http://myscreenshot.info/i/0003/932971391768977000045639652875.png) included in the purchase?
The background image is not included due to license reasons. But the sound of rain is included.
Ghost is rejecting the ZIP…
“The theme file you have uploaded is invalid. Please ensure the contents of your zip file contain a Ghost theme as explained in the documentation.”
What version of Ghost are you running? Have you uploaded the theme zip via FTP or? Is it your own server or the hosted service made by ghost.org?
Hey, love your theme and looking forward to using it.
I’d like to turn off the rain effect (visually) and the rain sound. How do I do this? Do I need to delete the lines locally on my laptop, resave the file as zip and then upload again to ghost?
I can’t open the hbs.file – what do I need to download to open it – textwrangler doesn’t recognise it.
I recommend Sublime Text 3.
You nay find in documentation.html file how to remove rain effects.

I’ve downloaded this theme! Thanks!
I notice on the Wordpress template the gap between articles is much much larger than on Ghost. It’s about 2 cm (on a standard 13inch screen) compared with 2-3mm on Ghost.
I prefer the larger gap on the Wordpress blog as it allows you to see more of the image so if it’s simple to change on Ghost I will.
You would have to add something like this to /assets/css/screen.css
You would then need to re-deploy it back to the server one way or the other like you said.
Beautiful theme – enough to inspire me to sign up for a trial Ghost account to see what it’s all about.
I think I’ve already read between the lines of previous comments… but could you please just clarify: it is not possible to set up this theme on Ghost.org-hosted blogs; you have to have your blog set up via one of the “virtual server” hosts such as Bitnami? Or have I misinterpreted?
Thanks in advance
We have not tested it with the ghost.org hosting service yet but I will make a note about it and look into it. When this theme was released there was no ghost.org hosting service by the way.
Thanks so much for the prompt response – I’m most likely going to go ahead with one of the virtual server options then, thanks again!
I purchased the theme yesterday, and seem to have installed it successful, but when I activate the theme ghost throws a 500 error telling me it can’t find Index.
Are you using the official ghost.org hosting service or do you have your own server?
this is my own Server. you can see it (not working) at: http://thedarkerside.to
I also tried it on another domain with the same effect, so it seems to be something universally wrong with it (0.4.2).
is the default Casper theme working on your installation correctly?
yes Casper is working fine (turned it on now). I also tried it on another ghost installation on the same machine with the same results, though other themes I have run under that install work fine (http://michaelkalus.ca).
Seems like you got it working now. Please let us know if you have any other questions we can help you with.
Hi. Yes I did after some back and forth it finally started working.
Just wondering, are you planning on modifying it to utilize the GPU going forward? Currently it all seems to be software rendered but JS can do really well on the GPU (see: http://www.acko.net as an example).
While this makes a great Ghost Blog, with a little work you can turn it ito a really great full HTML site. http://mccuetherapy.com/ Thanks so much!
I’m really happy to hear that Your blog is really nice Feel free to contact us in case of any questions or problems
Is this some sort of joke?
How on earth can a visitor know where the menu is? Why not make the menu always visible for visitors???
This is just crazy…
Thank you for your feedback. The so-called “hamburger” icon is now pretty common in 2014. I understand what you are saying but on the other hand Rain theme is pretty experimental from the start. Also, the menu icon is shown on a lot of mobile websites by default, it’s just not that common in desktop versions but they can be seen so people are getting familiar with them every day when browsing on their mobiles. Rain is certainly not the first theme on ThemeForest to feature a hamburger icon in the desktop version. And lastly, Rain is more suited for a streamlined blog where the user does not really need a navigation, he just scrolls down and reads the articles as they are presented.
Before I go, consider not starting a reasonable feedback with words like “is this some sort of a joke?”. Thanks
