Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

[Edit, January 2020: The issue described here has been resolved, so this FAQ article can be considered obsolete. But it has been left here for reference.]

This option has been omitted in the current RedSeal version. It will be a part of a future next release.

In the meantime, it’s possible to manually modify the main menu text, using WordPress Customizer:
  • log on to your site;
  • open any page in the browser;
  • on the top, in the WP admin bar, click Customize;
  • Scroll down to Additional CSS, and enter desired style for ”.sf-menu a” selector.

Am I free to use commercial plugins that ship with the theme, or I have to buy a separate license?

Our theme is using commercial plugins (WPBakery Page Builder, LayerSlider) as “bundled” plugins.
This means that you are free to use it, without separate licenses.
But, that also means you don’t get direct support from plugin authors. Also, you can’t update plugins separately, but plugin updates are received with updated version of RedSeal.

So, in short:
you are free to use the plugins bundled within our theme.
Additional licenses (for plugins) should be purchased only if you want direct support and regular updates from plugin authors.
