I purchased the theme, and have deployed it with a great deal of success. I seem to be having a small issue, and I am not sure if it is theme related or not.

This is the result. http://harborpointe.org/site/about/
What do you think?
Thanks for choosing Risen.
Try using [accordion] instead of [accordian].
Oh my goodness. I normally do not have problems like this. Thank you for spotting my obvious typo.
We really love Risen!
No problem, happy to us all sometimes.
Please let me know if you have any other questions.
Hi! We are having an issue using the theme with jetpack suscriptions module. When we publish a post it automatically sends an email to all subscriptors, but if we publish a sermon it doesn’t work, maybe because it’s not exactly a post but a custom one… it’s there any chance to make it work? Sending an email to all suscribers as soon as a sermon is post it’s a ‘must’ for us!
Thank you in advance
I’m not familiar with that feature of Jetpack. It could be that it doesn’t support custom post types (which is what Risen’s sermons use). You may want to ask on the Jetpack support forum or check its documentation for information on using that feature in this way. Or, there may be alternative plugin solutions that do similar.
Hi there, can you please add instagram icons to the header & footer in the next update?
Thank you for your suggestion. This is on the list of features to consider. I can’t guarantee it will be in the next update but it’s a possibility.
Risen 2.0 is now available and has an Instagram icon. You can find details here: http://stevengliebe.com/2013/12/04/risen-2-0-improved-church-wordpress-theme-future/
How do I remove the ‘add a comment’ feature from custom pages?
Please see FAQ #2 for information on disabling comments: http://stevengliebe.com/projects/wordpress-themes/risen/docs/#faq
If you have any questions, just let me know.
I’m having an issue when I try to create new pages; none of the pages are being activated, getting 404 not found errors. Help!
Please see FAQ #4 for a possible solution to the “Not Found” issue: http://stevengliebe.com/projects/wordpress-themes/risen/docs/#faq.
This theme is great I am just wondering if I can adapt this theme in two languages I need to have the website in English and Spanish? any suggestions ?
Risen is fully localized and can be translated: http://stevengliebe.com/projects/wordpress-themes/risen/docs/#translation
For multi-language translation, some use the WPML plugin which I believe is free for non-profits: http://wpml.org/. There is also qTranslate.
i get the following error when installing widget importer .. http://screencast.com/t/jNNY5pXf
what should i do?
Please use “Widget Importer & Exporter” instead. The former plugin is no longer recommended. I apologize that the video instructions on this have not yet been updated (in next update). The text instructions here (Step 6) are correct: http://stevengliebe.com/projects/wordpress-themes/risen/docs/#installation
Please let me know if you have any questions.
thank you for the quick response.
None of the buttons are working….when you click them, they go no where. I can make a button and insert into a post, and that works fine, but any of the shortcodes or the one on the contact page does nothing.
Can you please link me to a page showing shortcode buttons having the issue?
I tried the contact form button and that seems to work.
What browser/version and operating system are you using?
can you add woocommerce ability to this theme so a church can sell merchandise to help pay for overhead?
Thank you for the suggestion. If I get enough requests I’ll consider it.
Is there anyway that the video on the slider starts automatically?
The play button on videos in the slider must be clicked by the user in order to begin playing. You would need to make a code customization using a child theme to change this behavior: http://stevengliebe.com/projects/wordpress-themes/risen/docs/#child-theme
i see sermon pages can have audio, can this theme easy to setup with podcast capabilities?
Basic podcasting will be in the next release (2.0) in the coming weeks. Right now some people use the PowerPress plugin: http://wordpress.org/plugins/powerpress/
great… and it’s easy to upgrade right?
Updating a WordPress theme is a common thing. You can find update instructions here: http://stevengliebe.com/projects/wordpress-themes/risen/docs/#update
Risen 2.0 is now available with podcasting. You can find details here: http://stevengliebe.com/2013/12/04/risen-2-0-improved-church-wordpress-theme-future/
will upgrading override all the theme settings if i didn’t mess with the core code?
Your settings will be preserved when updating.
GREAT… thank you for the update
I want to move the tagline in the header more to the left closer to the logo.
I had a look in header.php & tried a few things but no luck.
what do you suggest?
Support is not offered for code customizations, but you are on the right track. You’d need to modify header and/or style.css. I recommend using a child theme for code customizations: http://stevengliebe.com/projects/wordpress-themes/risen/docs/#child-theme
I can refer you to Tweaky for professional customization if it would be helpful: http://churchthemes.com/go/tweaky
If you have any other questions, just let me know.
do i really have to add a new gallery idem for each picture?
No bulk importing and integrating into a image gallery.
I spent hours of testing…. (yes I watched the video and ofcourse been throught documention…
fe. Image gallery of 60+ pictures…
How to do that fast…?
Greetigs from Austria
Thank you for choosing Risen.
Risen’s gallery feature uses a post (gallery item) with featured image for each photo or video. Each gallery item is added manually.
If you want bulk upload consider the native WordPress gallery (“Add Media” on a regular page) or try a gallery plugin. If you use the native gallery, check out Jetpack Carousel or Responsive Lightbox: http://wordpress.org/plugins/responsive-lightbox/ (had another user tell me this worked very well for him)
Will it be possible to have the staff filterable? i i need over a 100 members, maybe 2 or 4 on a row?.
I would like to at bithdays to the staff, can i make them show up on the events widget?
Please submit your support requests using the account used to purchase the theme.
The Staff template simply lists all staff members, one per row, as shown in the demo. If you want a different display or to show a new field such as birthday you would need to make a code customization using a child theme. http://stevengliebe.com/projects/wordpress-themes/risen/docs/#child-theme
Due to some form conflicts on my site I’ve decided to use Gravity Forms for all Web Forms, including the Contact Us Form. Do you have any insight into how your theme handles the default theme form for each contact..?
For instance on the Staff page, the EMAIL button appears with some code similar to (?contact=254d03657f734bbacfe0b8624cd9fc27) to link directly to that drop down listing.
Obviously I can’t do that with Gravity Forms, but I’d like to undo that feature as not to cause confusion.
The contact buttons should not show if there is no contact selected. Clear the contacts from Theme Options then re-save staff, locations, etc. that had a contact selected.
Is there a way to make the sliders on the homepage be the same size? It seems they vary according to the picture on our site.
The homepage slide images should be auto-cropped to the exact same size as each other (960×350). If the images you are using were uploaded before installing Rise, try uploading them again. Ideally you’d provide an image exactly 960×350 to begin with.
If you’re using Risen 1.6 or older, upgrade to the latest (1.8). There was an improvement with upscaling when the provided image is smaller than 960×350.
Do you mean Risen 1.1.8? That is what is showing for the version.
Yes, I meant 1.1.6 and 1.1.8.
Were the images you are using uploaded before using Risen (1.1.8)? If so, they wouldn’t be resized to the proper dimensions. You would need to upload or run the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin.
If that’s not the case, please send me your URL and I’ll investigate. You can send a message to me via my profile page: http://themeforest.net/user/StevenGliebe (must be logged in) and I will reply by e-mail.
theme does not work with httpS (ssl)
Due to the libraries not being served via httpS, causes insecure content errors.
So basically if you use httpS/SSL this theme us broken
Thank you for reporting this. I will look at this for an update.
Typically most churches don’t need SSL. Are you using it with a plugin for e-commerce?
Everyone should use SSL if they allow users to login and post. If you have a proper host, SSL will always beat non ssl performance.
Not using it for ecommerce. All the sites we host on our servers are httpS (SSL) only
If you want to use SSL for logins, you can add a constant to your WordPress config file: http://codex.wordpress.org/Administration_Over_SSL. The standard login theme is apart from the theme so it should work.
I’ll add support for SSL on all pages in the next update.
In wp-config.php add:
Risen 2.0 is now available. I added SSL support for the frontend. Here are update instructions: http://stevengliebe.com/projects/wordpress-themes/risen/docs/#update
Is there a way to put upcoming events on a continuous cycle so we don’t have to add the “sr. adult luncheon” every month? Love the site.
The next version (2.0) of Risen will have recurring events by week, month and year. Currently you need to advance the date manually.
That sounds great. Can you give me an idea on when the next version will be available?
I don’t have a date to give you but I am working this as my primary project now.
Risen 2.0 is now available. You can find details here: http://stevengliebe.com/2013/12/04/risen-2-0-improved-church-wordpress-theme-future/
Got the update. Only problem is that I cannot put the staff widget on the side of the contact page. It looks like they should be there, but nothing shows. Any advice?
Are any widgets showing on your contact page? If not, double check to be sure the page is using the Contact page template. That will cause the Contact Sidebar to show up.
When I’m in dashboard and go to the staff page I don’t have any text or anything showing up in the box. I can go to the staff (stick pin) and see everyone. I used to be able to see them there. I still see them when I go to the page on the website, but something has changed. I am using the staff template, but something seems to be off.
When editing the Staff page, is the option for “Show sidebar widgets” checked?
I’m sorry, I should have said Contact page. Go to that page to edit it and make sure “Show sidebar widgets” is checked.
If the problem remains, please set me up with a temporary Administrator account (Users > Add New) for your WordPress dashboard and I will take a look. You can send a message to me via my profile page: http://themeforest.net/user/StevenGliebe (must be logged in) and I will reply by e-mail.
How do we double nest columns
the above doesnt work correctly
Nested shortcode columns are not supported. The equivalent of what you show would be one-third, one-third, one-third. You can see what’s possible here:
If you need more than one fourth, one third, one half, two thirds and three fourths (can be mixed/matched) then I recommend trying a plugin dedicated to shortcodes. Here are some to try:
Use, by you or one client, in a single end product which end users are not charged for. The total price includes the item price and a buyer fee.
