Wow, just image how long support would take if I were to buy this theme, if it takes the author this long to reply to a comment ;-(

Support from people who have actually paid for my theme comes before questions about changes that should be obvious if you have basic knowledge of css, If you were asking if the topbar colors are directly adjustable from the options page then no, sorry it doesn’t have that feature.

Cool thanks – in place…happy bunny now!! ;o)

Loving the template – still!

I like your “style”

Can you setup the homepage for me.. as per the demo site..with dummy contents and images …

ok done, please change password.

Man, I love that template, so clean an modern… Templateup, have you, or anybody else tried to add breadcrumbs? That’s the only thing I am missing.

I bought your theme and have some problems. See attached screenshots for details:

I’ve deactived all plugins to see if that fixes anything – no luck. Any idea what the problem could be?

My previos question is also still open.

Thanks, qwertz

1) You have too many categories so the twitter is getting thrown below, do you need them all?

2) The image paths must be wrong, have you made sure they start with /wp-content/?

3) The changes regarding your last questions are easy :) Open includes/indexblocks.php and find

<?php query_posts('showposts=2'); ?>

replace 2 with however many posts with calendar you want.

Thank you, problems 1 and 2 are solved. I have a follow-up to question 3:

How can I change posts with calendar so that I have for example 1 row of posts with calendar instead of two posts parallel all the time? And how do I get rid of the “normal” post sytle that comes right after the post with the picture to the left and the headline and excerpt to the right?

Further GD Star Rating plug-in (a very well-known plugin) seems to break the theme completely, which is sad, because the plug-in is highly recognozied and has a large installer base.

I played around a few hours trying to find the problem and deactivating all plug-ins except the GD Star Star Rating. When I deactivate the plug-in, the theme works fine. As soon as I active it looks like this:

and the comment numbers to the left are then gone.

Have you tried the plug-in yourself with your theme? Seems to work fine with other themes.

How do I add these smiles here?

The plug-in I’m using is this one: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/custom-smilies-se/

The plug-in itself always adds the smiles at the top of the message box, but for some reason the theme forces them to the bottom. How can I manually edit your theme to get the normal behavior so the similes are at the top?

The plug-in page talks about this:

If you want to add clickable smilies to your comment form, append these lines to your current theme’s comments.php file, just before the form begins(You don’t need do this if your theme suppor the action named comment_form since version 2.3):

I don’t know if this has to do anything with it…

OK go into comments.php and find

<!-- Plugin Support -->
<?php do_action('comment_form', $post->ID); ?>

It should be on lines 122 and 123, move it to lines 112 and 113 so it is just above the textarea code.

Thanks, now the similies are on top, but the “Subscribe to comments” options as well: http://img6.imageshack.us/img6/7089/commentsfe.png

Is there any way to get it look like this?

So it’s between the text box and submit button? I’ve tried adding

<?php show_subscription_checkbox(); ?> and even this:

<?php if (function_exists(‘show_subscription_checkbox’)) { show_subscription_checkbox(); } ?>

in different place (trial and error), but it just stay there…

remove those two pieces of code you added, the better way to do it is with “do action” which the theme supports, so find and move

<!-- Plugin Support -->
<?php do_action('comment_form', $post->ID); ?>

below Textarea so lines 115-116 anjd just above Submit.

Thank you, worked flawlessly.

So, do you have any idea why the the frontpage looks like this?

when I activate the GD Star Plugin?

Another thing I came across was when I activate the WP Ajax Edit Comments plug-in, it removes the blue number tabs that are on the left side of each comment.

Is there some way I can override this behavior?

I’ll have a look into the rating plugin and see what it’s replacing.

How would one go about changing the color of an author comment? I didn’t find a method in your theme to use.

So I took a look at the CSS to see if I could somehow change the author comments:

div.commentbox { width: 665px; padding: 20px; margin-bottom: 10px; border: 1px solid #d5d5d5; clear: both; position: relative; display: inline-block; background: #f5f5f5 url("images/comment.gif") repeat-x top;

And I guess I would have to add something like this also

Should be fairly easy, so I tried this plugin: http://kingdesk.com/projects/wp-authorcomment/

But it colors the author comments in a wired way http://img31.imageshack.us/img31/1608/authorcommentswithplugi.png Thus, I would need the native way of changing the color from grev (current color of all comments to something else for author comments). What code do I have to add where? Ideally I would want one or two places where I can change a value to change the color.

I should look something like this in the end (maybe not exactly that color ;-): http://img687.imageshack.us/img687/4822/authorcommentscolor.png

Here is a two step tutorial to achieve this, looks fairly easy but with this theme you will need to modify includes/custom-comments.php instead of comments.php as directed. Make sure you add the class at the bottom of the stylesheet so it overrides the normal background color. Let me know how you get on.

Thanks, did you happen to foget the link to the tutorial? ;-)

thanks for your help , check the link below

This page will show you how to list all the categories, include that into footer.php and the rest should be css style changes. Let me know if you need any assistance.

hi there,

a friend of mine bought this theme for me several days ago…

i’ve problems with the MS IE 8 !!! there are no possibility to display the pictures (post-image) of the featured items or the the other posts.

in firefox everything is fine, but when i open the website in IE an error occurs…

Details to the error:

message: ‘viewBox’ is zero or not a object row: 7 character: 15771 Code: 0 URI : http://localhost/fpoe-lustenau/wp-content/themes/silveroak/js/cufon-yui.js

so it’s a IE bug!!! but i need to fix it because most of my users use IE

I hope you can help me…

please answer me to: big_b@gmx.at

many thx cheers wolfi

hi there

i tried to solve the problem but without success…

but i know it’s NOT a problem with any java script!!!!

it seems that the IE has problems with the timthuimb.php… please have a look @ my test server www.fpoe-lustenau.at ….

you’ll see the problem.

i need urgent help…

many thx wolfi

you haven’t set the custom field “post-image” which is why it’s not displaying any images.

1) To create a custom field edit a post and scroll down to “custom fields”.

2) either select post-image from the dropdown or create a new one with the name “post-image”

3) for the value enter the url to the image, make sure it starts with /wp-content/

@wolfi: If you need help with the images, let me know, I can help. I’ll even do it for you. That part is easy ;-) Make sure your path where you uploaded your pictures is the same as in the custom field post-image. The rest is done by the theme.

@ templateup:

I can’t seem to get the code right so the author comment is colored. I tried this:

even though I didn’t find the

<li class=”<?php echo $oddcomment; ?>” id=”comment…

I also tried this as well: http://www.binarymoon.co.uk/2008/01/bm-comment-highlight-guide/

which uses this plugin: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/bm-comment-highlight

It requires to much CSS PHP , which I have no knowledge of ;-(

Then I found a plugin here which seems to be easy:

I just need the right CSS to change the color, right? Or would I need to do more editing to your theme? http://img200.imageshack.us/i/hightlightauthor.png/

But I can’t seem to find the correct CSS entry. I’ve tried this one I found with Firebug:

div.commentbox {
  width: 665px;
  padding: 20px;
  margin-bottom: 10px;
  border: 2px solid #000000;
  clear: both;
  position: relative;
  display: inline-block;
  background: #D9FF77 url("images/comment.gif") repeat-x top;

but that doesn’t seem to work either. What would be the easiest way of achieving this. The code snippets suggested don’t seem to work or I’m doing something wrong. Could you illustrate which lines of could I would have to replace with what?

My second issue regards changing the quoting sign. I’m using this plugin

With the current silveroak theme the quote area looks like this:

With other themes it uses a better quoting sign so you can distinguish it better.

e.g. here:

http://img689.imageshack.us/i/3rdexample.png/ OR http://img687.imageshack.us/i/2ndexample.png/ OR http://img200.imageshack.us/i/1stexample.png/

Ideally the bar would be best. How can one force your theme to use a qouting bar like that?

ok remove the plugin and drop me an email, I’ll send you the adjusted files.

thanks for your reply , i have see your link , but i am little bit confuse , if you send me some example i will modify as per your example..i want exactly same layout of the footer …..wht is shown in footer.jpg
