Our hosting provider just updated (without permission) our wordpress theme to the latest version (3.4.2). Suddenly a lot of things are ‘corrupted’. We installed the latest version of your theme but that didn’t make any difference. The problems are:
1) responsiveness is weird. When you open our website (www.goedebedoeling.nl) on an ipad it’s fixed in the left upper corner and has some space on the right side.. it doesn’t look that good:(
2) The menu selection option on the mobile version is gone! You can’t select any of the pages, there is just one option (with bulletpoint) which is ‘select page’
Can you help us out here?
I’m guessing that you mean the WordPress version. The theme is fully compatible with the latest WP version and there shouldn’t be any problems. I’m running the Live Preview on one. Anyway, responsiveness seems to be broken by the Twitter and Facebook widgets. Could you please send me your WP login information through my Profile Page so I can debug it for you?
Thanks Filip! I’ve sent you the login information! You can delete the widgets if that’s causing the problem! Hope you can also fix the menubar on the mobile version because that may be even a bigger problem.
I’ve fixed the navigationbar issue! Somehow the menu wasn’t save properly! Still having trouble with the ipad resolution though! Thanks again for your great support.
And thank you for the kind words! I’ve just replied your e-mail.
All the best,
I just lost the footer. I was trying some social widgets in the footer and one must have screwed up the code.
Can you tell me what file I should look in to see why the footer isn’t loading?
Just disable the social plugins you’ve installed and check one by one which causes the issue.
Thanks for the fast reply!
I disabled everything and the footer has not come back.. The subfooter is still there. Could a plugin have messed with the code?
Is there something else I can do? I wasn’t sure which fie calls for the footer, although I can see it’s missing from the source code in a browser. It looks like it jumps right to the subfooter…

Could you please send me your WP login information through my Profile Page so I can debug it for you?
Login info sent to your gmail.
I cant get your theme to work on my wordpress, for some reason it shows as a blog and also doesnt add the pages or content when I install theme. May I give you my login and you try to set it up? Thanks.
Pages don’t get loaded automatically, you need to import them as it’s explained in the Installation Screencast. If it still doesn’t work then of course, you can send me your WP login information through my Profile Page.
I emailed you my login info, sorry I haven’t been able to figure out the portfolio process and I cannot get my images to show up. If you could please see the email I sent you it should contain my questions and also my login info. Maybe just so you can check it out and make sure my stuff is correct and or identify what Im doing wrong.
I’ve just replied it.
Seem to be having one of those days, my email isn’t working here at my work, could you please send your response to firstname.lastname@example.org
I just did that. And please don’t forget about the “Reply” button so we can keep things more organized here.
I saw there are many updates. Is there a tutorial to update the template without losing personalizations? thanks (I’m not a programmer)
Just backup the files you have modified, upload the new theme files (downloaded from ThemeForest) and then insert changes you’ve done before to the new files.
Will I Lose all the personalization in theme options? Colors, logo?
Another question, can you suggest me e related post plugin that works with this plugin?
No, the Theme Options panel settings won’t be affected.
As for your question, I’m not really sure what you mean. Could you please be more specific?
Do you have a RTL (Right to Left alignment) version of this theme?
Thank you for the interest!
And I’m really sorry but I do not. However, “adding support for language written in a Right To Left (RTL) direction is easy – it’s just a matter of overwriting all the horizontal positioning attributes of your CSS stylesheet in a separate stylesheet file named rtl.css.” Please check this article for more information: http://bit.ly/UdlEud
Can you tell me how to set up the home page to look like example 4?
I would like to show excerpts from my blog, but it will only show full blog, not excerpts.
how do i turn off the featured image from the blog page.
I would stil like to keep the featured images on the excerpts on home page.
Just use the WordPress More Tag: http://bit.ly/QtL63r
You mean, in order to show my home page like the one in your example 4, i have to put that “more” tag into every one of my existing posts MANUALLY ?
What about my second question? The one you ignored? How do I NOT show the featured image on my blog post?
Actually, i have a question that may be easier for you to answer.
HOW do i get my money back so i can buy a theme from THIS century?
And excuse me, I haven’t read your comment carefully. Was a bit late and wrote it just before I went to bed.
Anyway. Regarding the first question – just go to the Theme Options and use the Homepage Layout Manager to create the layour presented on the Example 4 (Drag and drop the Blog section to the Enabled field). As for the second question – it will require some further modification of the blog-index-default.php file to make it recognize if it’s homepage or just the default blog page. If you are not familiar with PHP then please send me a private message through my Profile Page and I’ll help you out with it.
I think my last comment was a bit harsh… Your theme looks great, i was just expecting a little bit more flexibility and options for the blog.
Ended up using wordpress own excerpts function. Made a few changes to your php files and now i’m happy with it.
There are several of options for the blog including the individual styling for each post, general style, multiple sidebars and much more. Anyway, I’m really glad that you ended up using my theme and once again I’m sorry for my first, lazy reply.
The portfolio lightbox images have twitter and facebook share buttons,
Is there a way to add a pinterest button there?
Can those buttons be controlled from spacing settings page?
I’m really sorry but adding an additional social icon to the lightbox script will require some more advanced modification of the code. The existing icons (Twitter, Facebook) can either be disabled or enabled as for now.
My portfolio page is: right-sidebar, alternative, 3 columns.
I have chosen 6 portfolio categories.
It looks like you haven’t set any Featured Images for the “External Link”, “Classic One”, “Direct YouTube” and “Vimeo Video” portfolio posts. Please either set one or just remove those posts.
I added portfolio elements and created an empty page with the portfolio template but none of the portfolio elements is displayed in the portfolio page.
This happens also with the “Recent Works” section in the home page, which appears empty even though there portfolio elements saved.
You probably just forgot to set a Featured Image for each of your portfolio posts. They are necessary for thumbnails to be generated.
ok, things are improving on the “Recent Works” section but when I create a page called “Works” using the Portfolio Template this page doesn’t appear in the header along with the other pages I created before and when I try to type its URL to see how it looks it’s empty even though I added featured images to the portfolio posts.
Thanks a lot,
Make sure that you modify your custom menu via the Appearance / Menus tab. As for an empty content, did you set the page template of your Works page to “Portfolio”?
thanks, now the menu works fine.
For the empty content: I had already set the template to Portfolio but the page has always been completely blank.
Make sure that each of your portfolio post has a Featured Image.
I didn’t know that if just one of the porfolio post didn’t have a featured image set none of the thumbnails would show up!
Now it works! Thanks!
Oh and one more little thing, is it possile to disable social icons in ligtbox galleries? I read in one of your comments that it is but I couldn’t find how in the documentation…
But of course.
Just open the /js/custom.js
file and edit this line:
Hello! I bought this theme and began setting it up and everything loaded fine until I got to the XML file. It had a laundry list of “failed” import files and only imported less than half of them without error. So, now when I’m editing the site, there are many images, links etc… missing.
I also tried to upload it on two different browsers. Any help would be wonderful.
The content that didn’t get loaded is media (images) and it’s caused by some access/permission restrictions on your host side. You may either contact your hosting provider or just upload your own images into portfolio/blog posts. You would replace them with yours anyway, am I right?
It’s coming together, but there are a few things that are still not showing up like the “Recent Works” that go below the image slider on the front home page. It said to enable it to see it, but I can’t find that option anywhere. Maybe in the next couple days you could take a look at my site and show me what’s missing?
Other than these minor issues I’m very happy with it!
You need to drag the “Recent Work” section to the “Enabled” section in the Theme Options / Homepage menu. If it’s already there and still won’t display on your homepage then please send me your Wp login information through my Profile Page and I’ll debug it for you.
Hi again Tauris,
I have been using this wonderful theme for my website (www.rossib.com) ever since it came out. I am very happy with it.
I discovered the following issues though. If you could help me out with it or this is within your scope, I will be grateful.
1. When I am within a project from the portfolio section and click on the ‘portfolio’ link within the project, it directs me to the homepage instead.
2. When somebody fills out my contact section to send me an e-mail and it’s in Cyrillic, the symbols I receive don’t show up as text but as weird jumble of symbols. I guess it is something to do with the encoding. Do you know how I can fix this?
I can give you my WP user and password if you are going to need them.
Thanks in advance!
And thank you for the kind words, I truly appreciate it!
1. Go to the Theme Options / Homepage tab and change the page selected in your “Recent Work Links to” dropdown menu to your portfolio page.
2. Please open the Settings / Reading menu and make sure that you’ve got your encoding set to UTF -8 in the “Encoding for pages and feeds” field.
Thanks for the info. I checked that but the settings are the way you have described them and the portfolio link still links to my homepage. Is there anything else that could be done? Thanks a lot!
As for the first issue, could you please send me your WP login information?
Regarding the second one, it’s probably your mail address provider not supporting the coding. Please try changing your e-mail to something like gmail and see if you can see all of the characters without a problem.
I just downloaded and installed the theme but noticed some things are out of whack but it could be me.
+ I noticed I don’t have any styles on my theme. Example the hover on top menu items.
+ Top navigation is not linking correctly and linking to something like this: http://contact/
+ The google maps feature is not displaying the map.
+ In when previewing the theme in themeforest.com I noticed the option to change background and color scheme. Is this a feature I can use but only me and not visitors.
This is all I have noticed for now and hope I can figure the rest but for now if I can help for the stuff I need that would be great.
Thank you for the purchase.
1. First of all, please send me your website URL so I can see what exactly does not work.
2. Please visit the Appearance / Menus tab and create a new custom menu then assign it to the “Navigation”.
3. It could be a plugin conflict or your host doesn’t have a cURL tool enabled.
4. This feature is only available to you, via Theme Options.
Here’s the URL for you to see. Let me know if you can detect anything from looking at what’s there now.
As I can see, your website is working perfectly fine. Did you manage to get your problems fixed yourself?
I figured out a conflict from another theme I had installed. The menus looked as they should for this theme and the other but removed the old one and BAM …it worked!
Google map is working as well.
I’m good for now. Thanks for your quick replies and support.
