Hi, I just purchased the Striking Wordpress template, but can make edits just fine… only problem is I have tried everything I can find possible to change the header and slider background colors with absolutely NO luck whatsoever. Please help! Thanks
Thank you for your purchase of Striking. It sounds like you have permission, or caching issue. What you describe is either server permissions not allowing Striking to write to skin.CSS file, or you have caching and so it writing, but you not seeing effect due to caching delay. Or you have bad install.
Pe go tosupport forum and post and we help you. All easy to fix but we
need more info from you which you will gives at thread in forum.
I’ve just installed striking and there is an issue with the right scroll bar appearing and disappearing on pages that are not as long as the screen resolution and have the sticky footer in place!
I’ve only just got this theme and only turned on sticky footer but already have a bug!! please can anybody offer up some solutions.
Thank you for your purchase of Striking. This not sound like a bug but a screen resolution matter in your browser. However, we always ready to help and ask that you post at Striking support forum, including your url and we help.
here is the post in the forum:
Have your thread on the forum, and Paul has brought me up to speed on it, and we are going to work out what is going on with it. Please do not cross post again. It is not necessary. No answers will be found here, nor does one need to post here to get attention, it is always last on the list, except for prospective purchasers.

As we noted above in many posts, as a user the place to ask questions and seek answers is on our support forum. Please go to the forum, register, and post a thread, with a touch more detail, and a screenshot attached, and we will gladly assist you.
To all Striking purchasers, please ask your questions on usage and customization by opening a thread at our Striking support forum (the button linking to the support site is found in the item details page about halfway down), and we will attend. And our support forum already has answers to many of the question being asked here at Themeforest.
We do not answer detailed questions on Themeforest as we only have so many resources available for free support, and so we concentrate them where we can do the most good – which is our support forum, where we have thousands of registered members, and posted solutions to 2 yrs of questions! As a result, we only visit this Themeforest comment thread once a week or so (and post this same message again and again) whereas the Striking support forum supported daily by the Striking Team.
Just wondering how we can put a ‘Read Previous Posts’ link at the bottom of the blog listing on the homepage, which will open the older post entries?
Thank you for purchasing Striking. Please go to support forum and we will assist you with your questions as per what both KaptinLin and I have noted in all the above prior replies to comments.
Regarding forum support:
Were you guys able to get anywhere on this? I think I have tried about 20 different plugins for "comment as social media login" type plug-ins with no success.
When I disable striking theme and go back to twenty eleven or ten, the plug ins for social comments work properly, when re-activating striking theme, the plugin disappears. It would be really great if you could patch or even just provide the correct area we can re-route the code to work around
I really love this theme otherwise, this fix or work-around could make this nearly perfect for me!
Thank you for your kind words. Please do not cross post – it is not necessary. No answers will be found here, nor does one need to post here to get attention, it is always last on the list, except for prospective purchasers.
I have in fact posted a further response much ealier today to bring you up to date.
Just purchased this theme and want to say a big thanks to everyone who has helped in developing it including Kaptinlin, James and Paul as the theme is awesome.
Can I also just add that there seems to be numerous people asking questions on here on how to fix certain things with their sites, yet there is a perfectly good support forum for that kind of question and you would get an answer a lot quicker!!!
Thank you again for your kind words. In fact, you are an example of a user who did cross post after being asked to do such a couple of pages ago, and found out we really do work the forum hard every day, despite the fact we get many posts. And you found out through our community of Striking users that not only could you get an answer, but that even users will step in to help other users. We have a large group of designers and developers who use Striking, and while many cannot get to the forum to often as they have their own work imperatives, they do chip in when they can.
It says that the theme is compatible with WooCommerce but I don’t see anything in the demo that shows the shop features. Is it possible to see how this would work?
Thank you for your interest in Striking. Striking has custom code including a css class switcher for eliminating css conflicts, and built in support for woo sidebars. We have quite a few threads on the Striking Support forum specifically dealing with woo ecommerce plugin usage in Striking.
Woo has made some recent changes to their plugin, and our forthcoming update will attempt to match these changes so that Striking users can continue to use Woo with Striking. Of the top of my head I would guesstimate that several hundred of our Striking users employ the Woo e-commerce plugin. But as I noted above, a trip to the Striking support forum (you cannot register unless you have purchased, but you can view all threads) or doing a google search: “Kaptinlin support Woo ecommerce” should bring up enough threads for you to get a handle on whether Striking together with Woo meet your needs.
Hello. How can I set up video to the slider? Thank you.
I am hoping that since posting, you have in fact gone to our support forum and posted your question as per our advice to other users in comments above, as we provide support for all questions regarding usage of the default abilities in Striking via the forum.
For any prospective purchaser reading this thread, Striking supports usage of videos in sliders, page and post body, and widget areas. To use a video in a slider, one has to use the Anything Slider in HTML mode, and then simply place the Striking youtube or Vimeo shortcode in the slider item body content. We have detailed threads on the forum indicating how to do this, and are ready to assist any purchaser on usage matters such as this on a daily basis. Striking has very powerful video and slider capabilities, and our integration of the fullest version of the Anything Slider script makes it possible for beginners to make highly customized slides, and which besides supporting Striking’s built in shortcodes, also provide more advanced user’s who have knowledge of css and html unlimited design possibilities.
Is Striking theme Multisite enabled?
Thank you for your purchase of Striking. Of Course! We are 100% multisite enabled, whether sub-domain or path based.
Hello, just a pre-purchase question. Is it possible to use the portfolio on the homepage? Thank you.
Thank you for your interest in Striking. Of course! All portfolio lists and posts in Striking are via shortcode, and so you can place any content you wish on a homepage, in Striking.
A quick note for you – Striking supplies a default homepage setup via the Striking Homepage panel, which users will use if either they are new to wp or need an interim page pending their ramping up to something more advanced on a later date. But in Striking, you can also create a new page, and designate it to be your home page at any time – the advantage of this is that the default quick page has some limited functionality, whereas if one creates a page, then one can manipulate it to the full extent of Striking’s huge customization abilities.
You can use the portfolio shortcodes on either version. You should also know that in Striking, one can put portfolio’s into a slider as well!
Sorry if you’ve already answered this but I haven’t found the answer on the forum.
Regarding the Portfolio page:
1) The page is only allowing me to post 12 videos on the portfolio, but I would like to post many more. Is there a default setting I can override that will allow me to post many videos on a portfolio page?
2) Also, I’m having trouble with putting the videos in order. I’ve changed the posting date as well as the Order, but nothing is changing the order of the videos.
I have a feeling I’m overlooking one, specific, magical page with all of these things in it but I can’t seem to locate it. Any help would be appreciated.
Thank you for purchasing Striking. Sorry we have not responded earlier. We are hard at work on the forthcoming updates for Striking, which of course all Striking users get for free. We provide all of our support daily via our dedicated Striking support forum, and so surf over here to have a look see only infrequently.
If you go to the forum and do a search, we have posted the answer on what file to modify to change the 12 video limit. As for the Ordering, it should be working fine – if you have any continuing issues with either question, head over to the Striking support forum (the button linking to the support form is found in the Striking Description, and here also is the link: http://kaptinlin.com/support/discussions ) and we will gladly assist you with these usage questions.
day after day i discover something and the incredible flexibility of your theme… for these, thank you…
I want to do a static page with an introductive text and a listing of new articles like the page og category. Can you help me to do it? thanks.
ps: sorry for my english…
Thank you for purchasing Striking. I believe that I answered your question on the forum already, and thank you for being wise enough to head over to our dedicated Striking Support Forum, where we answer all questions every day.
Just in case potential users are wondering – we run a very large dedicated support forum. Registration is extremely simple (about 30 seconds to do) and we do not spam or sell our lists (in fact we have never yet sent an external email in 2 years). We continually answer questions on the forum daily, and if you read through the comment threads, you will see hundreds of comments from users who have utilized our support forum and are very happy with the experience.
The twitter widget only works when the query box is empty. I want to use an hashtag but then noting is showing and there are posts with the hashtac. Do you know what to do?
Thank you for purchasing Striking. Please go to support forum and we will assist you with your questions. As both KaptinLin and I have noted in the prior comments, we don’t visit this site that often, whereas the support forum receives daily responses to questions, hence the delay in responding.
makes the theme use of the categorie descriptions?
I need the following blog layout:
Thank you for your subsequent purchase of Striking as i see you cross registered at the forum. Should you have any usage questions I invite you to post them at the forum.
I use your very nice theme for a website www.stichtingcompassie.nl, but the slider on the homepage won’t work. All settings are as they should be, the cache folder has rights 777, but why is the slider not working, please help!
Hi, I purchased the STRIKING theme the 14th of nov, but I’ve still not managed to install it. Every time I try to upload the zip fil to wp, I get this message “Are you sure you want to do this? Please try again.” I’ve tried again and again with no luck. What can I do to be able to install it? Please help!
I see this theme gets less updates. Last update in July. Is there a new version of this coming or is this one coming to an end?
Can it have galleries in galleries? Like you create a gallery with x images in which the images are links to new galleries? If not, have your developers have a theme which does support that?
Thank you in advance.
Thank you for your interest in Striking. Actually, Striking has had more updates of new features, and for matching to WP and browser updates, then any other theme at TF.
We have a very large update forthcoming. It is scheduled for release in just a few days. Striking shall only end when the world ends. We have supported it continuously since release over 2 yrs ago (one of only a handful of themes from that time that is still supported) and we intend to support it as long as it is still being used!
Yes, you can create galleries within Galleries, using our portfolio features. If you want to see a site that has galleries within galleries, here is a link to one site I just assisted the user with something recently where there is many examples of what I believe you desire in their gallery sections:
Hello, same question here:
Is there a new version of this coming or is this one coming to an end?
Moreover: is it possible to get a “responsive” version of this very nice template? Do you plan to transform it into “responsive”?
Thx in advance!
Thank you for your interest in Striking.
We have a very significant update forthcoming in just a few days. And we are releasing Striking in responsive form as part of that update.
Any user who purchases now of course gets all these updates for free.
As you would do a “Sortable” but for the blog, with the categories of “Post”?
Can you go over to the support forum and expand upon your suggestion please. We have a Suggestion thread, and are actively combing in right now to see what user suggestions we can incorporate (although we have already included many over time in our past updates) for the forthcoming Striking update.
I have purchased 15 templates with Envato…. If I would have purchased this one first, I would have learned that this was the only one I would have needed. You would have had 15 licenses purchased from me… I will use this for my next project no matter what it is!
Thank you for your kind words and we look forward to having you as a customer. Striking is an incredibly powerful and flexible theme – it is somewhat different from most themes in that it can grow as the user abilities expand in respect of their grasp of WP. We have not just all the essential and normal premium features contained in our framework, but also a very significant array of super advanced settings such as: inline html in lightbox (a feature rarer then lightning but incredibly powerful), pure html slides, advanced header widget area, custom sidebars for all page and post types, header areas content customizable on a page by page and post by post basis, shortcodes embeddable within shortcodes, and hundreds more rare and unique abilities. And we top it off with a support forum with thousands of threads on customizing.
Beginners don’t usually understand how these features are valuable when first starting the site, they just see the bling in a theme such as a fancy slider. But as time goes on, and their site grows, they suddenly discover none of this customization is available to them, and that their site cannot grow, unless they have Striking! So then they have to go buy a new theme. That does not happen to Striking users – most of our users from our early days are still with us today.
And we are rewarding all with a very large update in a matter of days, as we finally coded Striking for a responsive version as well. This was a very large task – in fact not one we originally wanted to undertake as it is essentially a recoded from the ground up, but morally and ethically, we decided it was something we should do.
All Striking owners up to the date of the next release shall be entitled to both the non-responsive and responsive updates. So buy now!
