Thank you for a great theme!
I would like to create a special templatefullwidth for my homepage without a navigation bar. But i want keep the menu in the other pages.
How to do?
Thanks for your helps
Thank you for your purchase of Striking.
With the current version of Striking this would be difficult to do for a variety of reasons. But I am wondering why, since you are an owner, you have not gone to the Striking Support Forum and followed the directions to download the Striking Responsive Beta, which would allow you to do this.
As per our FAQ tab above, we provide support to all users at the support forum. Any user reading these comments -> our free support forum is the place to obtain assistance. The comment thread here is only for questions for prospective users, and nothing more.
Teram, thank you for your kind words about Striking, and we shall look forward to seeing you on the forum for any followup questions you may have.
I’m thinking about buying this theme to build my portfolio website. I see you can change the color of the header boxes and the box behind the slider on the home page. Is it possible to remove these boxes all together in the admin panel?
Thank you for your interest in Striking. We realize the current demo and sample pictures are woefully out of date (2+ years old) and don’t touch remotely on all of our current abilities anymore -> it might take 50 pictures to start to do Striking 220.127.116.11 justice, let alone the forthcoming responsive version which is already in beta with our user base.
Here is the simple answer to your question. Yes. Theme wide – Yes. On a page by page basis – Yes. For any post – Yes. And almost anything else you can think of in respect of control on a theme wide or page by page basis – Yes!
Striking is likely the most customizable theme you will ever work with. We are the “heavy duty” theme for real site building in depth. Read some of the comments about Striking in the last few pages posted by various designers. Given our out of date demo – we know the current demo is not nearly as flashy as some of the new topsellers, right now most sales come from users having tried all these normal premium themes, found they needed more, and then gradually found there way to us. You will be happy when you do as well.
And Striking Regular 18.104.22.168 is but a little brother to the forthcoming responsive release, already in beta release to any Striking licensee who wants it (including you should you purchase).
In respect of portfolio abilities Striking has tremendous portfolio filtering and layering abilities – I think you will be satisfied with them.
But whatever your decision, best of luck with your new site. And if you come our way, then remember – we have a support forum to assist all users with usage matters, and we will assist you as well. Check it out before you buy.
Thank you for your prompt response! I just downloaded Striking, and am looking forward to using it.
Will this theme be adapted to take advantage of ‘responsive’ for the mobile and tablet market
We actually already have the theme adapted. It is in Beta in release to any existing license holder, who are giving us feedback on bugs and the new features we have built into it. It is actually very close to official release, and will be an update for existing license holders – it will not be an additional fee.
using IE8 or IE10 the page layout using AnythingSlider is broken even in your showcase. Any plans fixing this?
I see you have posted over at the forum, and I have a comprehensive response I am going to provide there, but I will post a brief response here as well. I would ask in the future all questions related to usage be posted only at the forum as per notes in the FAQ tab above-> the themeforest comments is only for prospective purchase questions.
The Anything Slider is working fine in IE8, and on the forum thread I am posting screenshots to show you. So if you are having a difficulty in IE8 visibility it is unique to your local computer.
As for IE10 we have the update for the Anything slider in the next Striking Regular Theme update.
Should you have any further questions please respond to my forthcoming comment in your thread at the support forum.
First I want to thank you for your response and this truly great theme which stands above all others here at themeforest.
Unfortunately this IE10-bug and the IE8 are a reality not only on one PC but on several at different locations – I posted in the forum too but I have to get this pressing issue resolved as this is no minor flaw actual live sites are broken. I count on your assistance in those difficult times.
Someone from support team will be in touch with you. In order to diagnose the IE 8 issue further we will have to go into the site setup and potentially ftp, to see if we can track down the matter.
The IE 10 fix for this issue will occur in the next regular striking release. I will see if we can possibly hustle it out the door at some point on the easter weekend.
I will continue the conversation over at the forum once I finish responding to the other comments here at Themeforest.
Thank you for your purchase of Striking. I took a brief look at that website, and although it is not a wp site, at least in respect of my quick peak at the front page, you could duplicate that look in Striking easily.
The sub level menu that gives appearance to leading to another
website is all about hierarchical parent and child pages using custom menu abilities of wordpress, which Striking fully supports. It can also be done using subdomains, or by multisite (I would suggest path based for the effect I think you desire). How you choose to do it will be up to your designer. Striking does include custom menu and sub menu widgets, which will be very useful for this type of site building.
I treated your question as being from a potential purchaser due to its unique nature. But should you have any more questions on this matter or any other matter it should be directed to the Striking Support forum.
But be advised that some of your above question is really more about using wordpress, not Striking. On the support forum we provide free support for usage of the Striking theme features and settings, as well as responding to simple CSS customization tweaks to built in features. But design imperatives generally fall outside the boundaries of free support. So I can tell you yes, you can do this in Striking, but if you want me to show you how, then it becomes a design project, which is paid work.
Your theme looks fantastic! It looks perfect to replace a theme that needs updating at a couple of my clients. They have a couple of plugins that I need to work… and perhaps it has been asked here, but I don’t see a way to search through 197 pages of questions and comments here!
Looking for compatiblity or known issues with with the following plugins: s2@Membership, Formidable Pro, Event Expresso Lite/Pro, Meta Box.
Thank-you in advance for your time!
Thank you for your interest in Striking.
In respect of s2@Membership, there are threads at the support forum on s2 and to the best of my knowledge it in use on many Striking sites. We have heard that the paypal payment gateway in it has errors in premium themes due to a js conflict. I am assuming it would be the same in Striking.
We have no experience with Formidable Pro.
There are some threads on the support forum for Event Expresso, and at a minimum, one needs to enclose its shortcode in the raw tags, but from what i can see, there is other customizations and tweaks necessary, and i would say it fits, but with some difficulty.
No idea on metabox. I have never heard of it.
Hi, there seems to be an inconsistency with supersized plugin lighbox of striking and, if they can check it they are grateful
As you are a licensed holder, can you please go over to the Striking Support forum and provide more detail on what you are finding? I am not quite sure to what you are referring.
Do you mean when you have the lightbox restriction toggle off? If one toggles it off, then for each image it will size to the dimensions of the image, and if using the group feature, and each item in the group is a different size, then it will resize on each transition, which is the desired and proper outcome.
I will follow for your thread at the forum.
just to say this theme is customizable to a serious extreme, so totally recommended. Plus, support is AAA!
My question would be if there is any chance we can get parallax effect background in the near or not so near future.
Thank you for the comments about Striking. We believe generally we are likely the most customizable premium theme around, based on the feedback we get from professional designers who use our theme for their client sites. Striking Responsive will take our granular control to yet another level.
Not with Striking Regular, as of course, per all the forum dialogue, it is being deprecated shortly in favour of the responsive version.
Can you log into the support forum, and in the responsive thread, or as a suggestion, highlight what you mean? Some links or some screenshots would be beneficial.
We have a pretty significant array of background abilities in the responsive theme ->one can set backgrounds per page sections, across the entire theme, and on a page by page basis. And we provide for a range of background options. I am told our background options are the widest available outside of the background plugin at Themeforest and I think we cover a good 75% of that plugins abilities, as built in features in our theme (this is my estimate, but please it is a rough guide based on what I know at this time).
So post at the forum with your suggestions, and provide some detail! And thank you.
I have bought today your theme, and I am working in a site with wpml and I have designed in photoshop a layout for my web. I am going to start now to convert the site from photoshop to wp.
Do you suggest to install the responsive and beta theme, or using the normal striking theme?
Thanks a lot in advance.
If just commencing, we would suggest you install and run with the responsive beta. Yes it is still in “beta” form, but the number of kinks outstanding is small. Users are going live with it, and in fact, a few comments below I see one who has posted a url on a site built on the beta. Looks pretty awesome to me!
Thank you for your business.
how to put an arrow in the menu when they have a submenu. I activate option in general settings /menu. before with an older version Of Wordpress that worked Now it does not work
Are you referring to the “Activate Top Level Navigation Parent Arrow Appearence Feature”? We have no reports of any issues with it, and it is working fine in all of our own demos.
Can you please hop over to the Striking support forum per notes in the FAQ tab, create a thread and include your url, and wp and striking versions, in your commentary. A support team member will assist you.
The feature is working fine across thousand of websites, so it is a matter of determining why not on yours. I have never actually heard of an issue with this feature before, so I am quite curious.
Just be sure to be using the current version of wp, with Striking 22.214.171.124.
Hello again, I want to exclude some blog category from my homepage.
My string now is: [blog count=”5” imageType=”default” nopaging=”false”]
What I must type to exclude one or two category from here? And one more thing – I want to show that excluded category on a widget – how can I do that?
Please go to the Striking Support forum and post your questions there, per the notes in our FAQ tab above. The comment section here at Themeforest is for pre-purchase questions, and we handle all usage support matters at the forum.
I will add that the blog shortcode includes a setting for excluding categories, and the widgets all allows for one to pick the categories one wants, and exclude the categories one does not want, so your requests are easily handled by the Striking native features.
I’ve spent the last 2 weeks playing around with the responsive beta, and I must say, it is amazing!!!
Striking is a amazing theme with all its functions and so on. I’ve taken the liberty to go online with my site although striking R still is in beta.
check it out if you want to: http://www.olehaug.com/ – (the site is in norwegian)
The possibilities for customization is fantastic! I’ve customized my site a lot. All of the customization is done within the theme. I haven’t written a single line of code!
So, if you are looking for a theme, both responsive or non responsive, I can recommend Striking for you!
Wow. I love the look you did in your site.
Obviously when we formally release Striking Responsive (it is replacing the current Striking so moving to Striking Responsive is a free upgrade for all Striking owners!!) we are going to be significantly revamping our old tired sales page here at TF, and I would like to put your site in the new showcase we will have. You did a wonderful job.
I might even put a link to your site up on our sales page sooner as an early sneak peak, if you have no objections to that.
Outstanding work, and thank you for the kind words.
I would be glad to help you in any way upon the release of Striking R.
With the effort you guys are putting in to give us an incredible, responsive theme, that is the least I can do!
So, please use my site as early sneak peak if you want to.
Hello, I was wondering why I cannot see the youtube video on the website Im building. The link is edumas.com.mx and the only thing that shows up is the slider item title wich is “VIDEO”. How do I solve this? I already read the manual, and cant seem to solve this.
Should you have any questions on this matter or require some help please go to the Striking Support Forum per our instructions found in the FAQ tab above and create a new thread on your matter.
I need a script that makes the submenu of active pages is always visible without having to hover, you help me?
For any usage matters please go to the Striking Support Forum per our instructions found in the FAQ tab above and create a new thread on your matter.
Hi. I just purchased and downloaded the theme. When I go to install it though. I get the error message:
“The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.”
Can you help me out?
You are installing incorrectly. Please go to the following link at our support forum which in the 3rd or 4th comment in the thread, gives you a step-by-step on how to install correctly:
You are trying to install the whole zip you have downloaded from Themeforest, which is incorrect.
They date for the release of version responsive?
Its already in very advanced beta release – free for existing license holders, and in fact some users have already switched over to the responsive framework. The formal release has been pushed back a bit, only because we have decided to add a some more features to it. I suspect about 10 days or so, and then the official release.
I am going to add some links to early conversions to the Striking page here at themeforest this weekend.
Hello, Im working on a website for a client and im using thi theme. When I view the website on a desktop the header background and bacground behind the slider show perfectly. When i view the site on a phone or tablet the bacground pictures i installed are missing and there a different color. Can you help?
I love striking for several years
But nowadays, I think that it misses an important thing so that it continues his success story :
-> parallax slider
Viva Striking ! Viva Kaptinlin !
Thank you for your kind words about Striking.
Well, the next “generation” of Striking, which will be an update so that loyal users get it for free, in fact has a parallex type slider in it ->the Revolution Slider.
So your wishes are answered! The responsive version containing the Revolution slider plus other premium sliders is already available to all licensed holders in beta form, and in fact some users have already converted their sites. We have a very small amount more tweaking to do, and then it shall be released formally.
Yeah it’s sound great !!!!
I’m sorry for my post, I saw no leaves that there was a beta in test… Well my intervention is useless ! Sorry !
I’m enjoy !!!
And I wait with a little of impatience
If you go to the Striking support forum, and the All Discussions category, it has some sticky posts, and the first is a thread on the responsive beta. That thread has the link to the site where you can download the beta.
Oh ok very good Kaptinlin, I have find it !!!
You says : “Well, the next “generation” of Striking, which will be an update so that loyal users get it for free”
What’s “loyal user”, I’m a “loyal user” ???
Sorry, it’s because of my bad english… I don’t understand…
loyal user = valid license.
So anyone who has bought Striking at Themeforest.
If you have any other questions, please ask at our support forum.
Is the responsive version coming soon, or will it be delayed? Do you have a demo site for the responsive beta version, and will I have access to download that version immediately if I purchase the theme here?
The responsive version is, as you may have gathered, already in beta release. We keep on making changes to it based on feedback from the users who have been testing it, but I am pleased to say we are close to being done -> we have a few more new features sets to add but these are minor tinkering.
I expect that the “formal” release is still some days away, but some users have already gone live with it, and I intend to alter our sales page here in the next couple of days to include some links to active sites using Striking Responsive.
We do not yet have a demo, or a demo package for the responsive version. It will not be until we have “set” it that we create such.
Think of it this way. If Striking regular is the base at 100%, Striking Responsive will rate somewhere about 250% of Striking Regular, which is already in its current form one of the most powerful wordpress themes.
You can go to
So to answer your last question, if you should purchase Striking, you obtain immediate access (the link is in the first comment in the responsive thread) to the current beta. BTW, there will be another update to the beta in the next 24 hrs.
James, thanks for the really detailed reply, much appreciated. I’m very tempted by Striking. One final question – regarding page loading time, this is something I’m very interested in, is the responsive theme pretty light-weight out of the box?
Well, we traditionally like to say that Striking is highly optimized. But light-weight is a matter of perspective. Our own tests indicate that all Striking core functions load in extremely quickly, and then the rest is up to what the user is doing on a page, particularly the outside calls to social networking, etc.
There is a thread on our support forum (which you can peruse for free) which discusses google speedtest and ways to speed up page loads. Naturally, once one starts employing a slider, and imagery, every additional item one loads adds a small increment to page loading. Then one should examine a caching plugin to assist with matters.
For some reason, the front page slider on my website is not showing the rotating images unless I am signed into the Wordpress backend. Any idea why this is happening or how to fix it? Thanks!
Nope!! So I suggest you head over to our support forum and post about your matter, and a member of the support team will respond.
