The responsive version, its a Mobil compatible??
When its ready because i want buy the theme with all functions. because if i install now then i need upgrade the theme right?
You can buy now, and instead of installing Striking 126.96.36.199 go to our support forum, follow the links on it to the responsive vesion of Striking and just install that instead. And of course it is fully mobile compatible.
If you have any other questions please do not hesistate to ask.
Hi, I am updating this theme on my clients website. He is having this theme. Server does not support auto update, WordPress asks for ftp details. So how to manually update theme.
The way to update is by ftp should this occur. Do you have ftp access to your clients site? Your listed as a theme author, so you must know how to update a wordpress site by ftp – that is wp 101.
If you and your client continue to have difficulties, then you should register at the Striking support forum, and post a thread indicating you require assistance updating your site.
Just to echo chadelwine’s comment, I too am looking forward after a much longer than expected wait. That said, I appreciate that your team never evades answering the tough questions as well.
Well, we would not even suggest waiting for the Themeforest official approval, given that the responsive version is available to users anyways via the download link at the forum. At my last count, there were over 700 sites live with Striking Responsive (we can see via our own api), and I think there are about 90 of those sites listed in the Responsive thread at the support forum by uses who have converted.
I have posted about 13 sections of the revised help documentation, and have another 4 sections about ready to post – the woocommerce section is 25pgs, and I think I still have material to add to it.
Its an odd situation in the first place since there is actualy no official documentation requirement for any Themeforest theme, yet we were soft rejected on the basis of they needing documentation in order to analyze and pass the update. But having a theme like Striking update to Responsive, and pile on literally 100%+ more features is likely a first at TF. Most dvelopers release as a new theme instead (meaning it costs you money….).
BTW, Did you know we have a demo site where we have Woo, Easy Digital Downloads and Image Store all running at the same time – yes 3 eccommerce plugins running at once, plus Ubermenu, WPML and some contact forms, error free. That’s a stress test I would be willing to hold up against any theme in the world.
There is two good aspects to the delay in resubmitting: now we have documentation that we were otherwise going to do after the fact, and possibly, just possibly, we might even have tinkered a little further with the features while I have been stuck writing documentation (I am the only English first language member of the Striking support team). I also have more videos to release shortly.
I was hoping we would be in a position to resubmit today, but examining what still needs to be done, I think Tuesday or Wed is a more likely potential candidate for resubmission.
You guys rock! I am getting the best support (by far) I have ever had in my life for any product/service I have ever bought: prompt, effective, generous and kind.
Striking has been the most powerful and flexible theme I have worked with but now, with the update/upgrade to the Responsive version, all my dreams have come true, and you have given it to us for free, instead of releasing a new theme like other authors do, that is….striking!!!
I will carry on building sites for my clients with Striking for a long, long time.
Any potential buyers of this theme look no further, just get it. The support is amazing and the theme is exceptional. There is very little you cannot do with it.
I will always be using the striking theme.
I bought Striking theme and I don’t regret it. Very flexible with a serious, quick and kind support. I really recommend this theme.
Many many thanks to its creators.
Hi Striking Team!
I found a new theme today on Themeforest that resembles Striking Responsive so closely that I was shocked. It even has a Responsive Text Shortcode and no one other then StrikingR has ever had that which I recall. There were an huge number of other similarities.
I know you guys indicated on the forum you had a “soft rejection” from Themeforest in mid Nov for StrikingR on the basis of they needing “documentation” to approve the update. It just seems a little fishy to me that you guys got rejected and this other theme with some apparently big wordpress poobahs and the same features got approved. I remember what happened with the special treatment Woo got, and the whole gpl fiasco, and I smell a rat on this in more then one way. I could be wrong but I am going to send you a pm on the forum with more details.
Thanks for the help with my store. I love the new sliders No one will ever be able to match your support in any case, as only you guys go the extra mile with live support when necessary.
Yes, we had several of our users advise about this matter with thoughts similar to yours.
We have the best track record of longevity, innovation and support of any theme at Themeforest. When all else confuses the picture, discerning buyers will hopefully see through to these superimportant points.
Thank you for your concern. I received your forum pm as well and have responded to more of your points in my reply back to you.
Is it safe updating to WP 3.8 with this theme running?
Yes, if you check both the Item Description Tab, or the Support Forum, we advised on compatibility within minutes of WP 3.8 being released. Your website will display just fine to your visitors.
WP 3.8 is about cosmetic changes to the admin interface, not about fundemental matters that can affect how a website displays.
When will it be 3.8 ready?
Just read previous post! I updated but homepage slider went funny will post in forum…
Did you remember to go to the Striking Advanced Panel, and toggle on the Clear Cache setting and save the panel?
There are no issues of which we are aware in respect of wp3.8 and Striking. This wp update is not really about content related matters. The focus is on the fact they made the dashboard/admin responsive, and added a color pallete for the admin, and other cosmetic type changes.
Nothing really touches upon how a website displays, or even the theme (other then responsive admin).
I suspect your issues are related to something else entirely.
However, be advised there are changes in the core that do impact plugins, and likely once again a certain array of plugins may not be compatible, and will need updating by their authors.
Hey There -
A client of mine has this as their theme, freaking LOVE IT, and working with it! However, he just emailed me telling me that bluehost (the server we are hosting on) is updating to PHP 5.4 in the next 48 hours. I just wanted to make sure or check to see if this theme is compatible with that, or if I am out of luck.
Is your friend on Striking 5.2 series or have they done the upgrade to Sriking Responsive?
It really makes no diff, both versions are php 5.4 compatible.
Be advised that wordpress itself is not compatible with php 5.5 and we have a thread on that topic at the support forum (which is open viewing for all). But this has nothing to do with php 5.4.
Anyone who knows Striking knows we are always compatible with wp/php/browser updates, if not by the time of release, then very soon afterwards. Its been that way for almost 4 yrs now – we always stay up to date. We announced wp 3.8 general compatibility one minute after it was released…...
if I test my client web on pingdom tools it shows error with striking/fonts/0?ver=3.8
Please can you test it?
Anyone have this error?
Prior to our testing, can you please go to the support forum, and post a screenshot of the error, or just put the error string in a comment?
We don’t handle customer support here, but at our support forum, which we do indicate is our procedure per the Support Tab above.
Just advising all that the issue was resolved. It seems that when the user jumped to wp 3.8, all his different font technologies (cufon, @fontface, Google) were all activated. We don’t know why at this time, although it was easily corrected by turning off the fonts not in use.
One other user also reported a similar experience. It could be php related, or just a random occurrence.
In any case turning off the unneeded fonts (there are settings for all of this of course) did the trick.
Thanks for cross posting on the Support Forum Bigdrobek and reporting the matter.
So stoked with your theme – we love the ease of use and flow.
Q: Got WooCommerce all dialed in but find that the right side bar vanishes completely only on the product page.
Oh, sorry – all versions WP, Striking and Woo updated to the latest
You may want to consider jumping to Striking responsive (which is free for licenseholders, info is on the support forum). The ease of use, flow, features, flexibility are all hugely expanded and improved.
Striking responsive, particularly in the next iteration coming out next week, has many new dedicated Woo (and other ecommerce cart) features.
If Striking 5 series is the baseline at 100%, Striking Responsive is 250% across the board. And the next version is hugely optimized (I posted some new screenshots in the responsive release thread).
Please, if you are still having an issue, may I ask you to post on the Support forum?
it seems a bug in portfolio. the function Breadcrumbs Parent Page link keep link to the home page. and the portfolio title. Im very not sure if the problem is here. Can U take a look into this?
Given what you described, this is how it is supposed to work, it is not a bug. But should you have any questions about breadcrumbs or the special abilities for custom portfolio breadcrumbs or rewrite URL please register at the Striking Support forum (is free and takes about 30 seconds to do) and create a new thread requesting help with usage of the breadcrumb functions.
As we indicate in both the Item Details and Support Tabs above, we provide our theme support by way of our support forum only. The Themeforest comments page here is purely for pre-purchase questions and theme feedback.
Thank you. I should say here. This is the best theme here
I wanted to say this: devs are very friendly, humble and down to earth
LOL, you’ll love talking with them and pun-ning each other!
Wish I could give a 5 star again!
Hi, I’m the author of Final Tiles Gallery (http://codecanyon.net/item/final-tiles-gallery-for-wordpress/5189351) and I’m writing because a customer of mine has a problem using my plugin with your theme.
The problem is that the theme seems to interfere with the output of my plugin. It looks like the theme adds extra HTML tags to the result of my shortcode. For example, here is a chunk of correct HTML:
<div class="tile already-visible effect-zoom" style="position: absolute; left: 0px; transition: none; -webkit-transition: none; top: 0px; width: 800px; height: 450px;"><a title="Sniff! Sniff!" rel="ftg-2" class="tile-inner zoom" href="http://www.final-tiles-gallery.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/unsplash_52850935dd650_1.jpg" style="position: relative; display: block; overflow: hidden; width: 780px; height: 430px;"><img class="item" src="http://www.final-tiles-gallery.com/wordpress/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/unsplash_52850935dd650_1-1024x576.jpg" style="width: 780px; display: block; margin: -4.5px auto auto; font-size: 10px; max-width: 9999em; height: auto;" case="4" /><div class="caption" style="width: 100%; position: absolute; height: 100%; opacity: 0; left: 0px; top: -576px; display: block;"><p>Sniff! Sniff!</p></div></a></div>
and this is what is printed using your theme:
<div class="tile "><a rel="prettyPhoto[ftg-1]" class="tile-inner " href="http://www.thefinishingtouch.co.uk/2013/09/14/katie-and-neil-wedding-day-prestwold-hall/"><img class="item" src="http://www.finishingtouchweddingphotography.co.uk/wp-content/uploads/2013/12/01911-199x300.jpg" />
<p>Kate + Neil:Married</p>
if you look after the ‘caption’ DIV there is some weirdness.
Do you have any idea on what could cause this problem? Thanks
here is a clearer example, I removed classes and attributes so you can see easily the HTML structure:
<img src="0.jpg" />
<img src="0.jpg" />
I think I found the problem http://kaptinlin.com/support/discussion/1835/disable-automatic-p-tags/p1
The solution in that thread is for the striking non responsive version and is for a version from 2011. The striking theme did update a lot since then and we also now have the responsive version which you might consider to try. You can download it through the link supplied in the support forum.
May i suggest if you still have issues with your plugin you create a account on our support forum and drop the question in there?
Best regards,Striking Team,Paul
Do you have any update about the availability of the third-party, paid addons you refer to?
May i suggest you visit our forum? we have a thread about all the plugins people are using in our theme,
Striking runs with many paid plugins without any issues. If you provide us more information through the support forum about what you are after we can try to answer your question.
To add to what Paul has indicated, there are some independent developers and designers who have expressed an interest in providing utilities/addons/plugins specifically for Striking Responsive.
We hope to co-ordinate with some of them on such options after we have moved to our new support forum, which will have a forum, ticket, and blog sections (where we post advanced tips, etc).
I am guestimating about 2 weeks or so out yet.
Hi James, Happy Xmas and New Year to all the Striking members!
Just had a look at the list of sites using the theme, they are great! I was wondering if you might consider adding in my site to show what can be done by customizing the theme’s core. Here are the links….
Jonathon, can you please contact me on skype? Or send me a pm at the forum so I can contact you. I need you to update to Striking Responsive for inclusion of your sites in the new showcase.
how can i change height 0f feature header bar?
As per the support policy indicated in the Support Tab above we ask that you go to our free Striking Support forum and post your question, and one of the support team will assist you.
Please also provide more information, and maybe attach a picture of what you mean or provide your url, and also indicate whether you are using Striking 5.2 series or Striking Responsive.
Hello, I have a question this theme is mobile friendly ready?
As you have purchased, you are entitled to the more advanced responsive version of Striking which is free for all license holders.
If you go to our support forum, to this link, it gives you all the instructions on downloading the responsive version. The second link below gives feedback from users who are already using it. On the Item Details for Striking (see the Item Details Tab above) the long list of sites near the top of the Striking description is a small sampling of sites built or upgraded to the responsive version from the regular Striking version.
And best of all it is free for you!
Responsive Update Information for Striking Themeforest License Holders
I just updated the them to the latest version, and now, my media upload buttons, including custom logo uploader button do not respond. The URL that is shown when I hover over the custom logo uploader is http://www.nationalacademyorchestra.com/wp-admin/admin.php?page=theme_general&tab=header#
I disabled all other plugins and still unable to use these buttons. I am using Wordpress 3.8
Fixed … I reinstalled the theme.
Welcome to the Striking community. I see your client is on Striking Regular. Should you have any other questions I would encourage you to utilize the Striking support forum.
As well, your client is eligible to jump to the much more advanced responsive version of Striking for free, although I understand that as you are a web designer, you may have a cost to obtain from your client for this maintenance.
