Missing style sheet error when installing the theme
A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.
How to update theme?
- From http://themeforest.net/downloads download theme package.
- Unzip package = get main theme folder ‘superblog’ .
- using FTP, go to theme folder (“YOUR_HOSTING_ROOT/YOUR_SUBDIRECTORY/wp-content/themes/”)
- rename actual theme name to eg. superblog_backup
- Drag and drop new (downloaded) theme folder ‘superblog’ into teme directory: “YOUR_HOSTING_ROOT/YOUR_SUBDIRECTORY/wp-content/themes/”
- do nothing with website until upload is done
How to center logo image in header?
Go to Editor > Appearance and add following css code into style-custom.css file.
#header h1 {text-align: center;width: 100%;}
img#logo {float: none;}
style-mobile.css file is not loaded in child theme.
Into child theme folder put style-mobile.css file and add following line into:
@import url(”../superblog/style-mobile.css”);
style-mobile.css from parent theme will be imported; and if you want to edit (responsive) style, it isn’t necessary to edit parents style-mobile.css
