Just a quick question…
where can I obtain/get similar icons used on your demo front page – or where might I be able to find good quality icons that you would recommend?
The icons used on the demo can be found: http://picons.me/
will email be sent after ticket be submitted or updated?
can customer update ticket through email reply?
This theme doesn’t have ticketing functionality built in. It support BBPress for community forums.
Just anothe quick question.
How do I delete/remove the grey bar, including the breadcrumbs navigation, from pages, posts and knowledgebase.
Do I need to add some css to the stylesheet css?
You’d need to edit the template to do this. You can either use CSS to hide the content or use a child theme to modify the markup.
I am using a the child theme of support desk.
Can you tell me what .css code do I need to remove or alter to delete the:
entries on both posts and knowledge base articles
Any help appreciated.
Unfortunately we can’t assist with customizations, I would recommend getting in contact with a freelancer or a customization company such as Tweaky or WerkPress.
im one click away to buy it.. so simple yet perfect… but i do have a problem… its hard to integrate with buddypress?
It hasn’t been tested so I don’t know unfortunately.
Hi Chris, we would like to ask a simple question:
We are trying to create a custom menu from our categories, but wordpress menu section detects only regular “article categories” and do not let us choose “knowledge base categories”.
Links are the only way to achieve this? It’s possible to create custom menus from “knowledge base” categories?
When I said ‘only regular “article categories”’ I meant ‘only regular “post categories”, sorry.
You might be running an older version, if you submit a support request via http://herothemes.com I’ll send you over the latest version which has this option enabled.
Just purchased your theme, how do I change homepage to knowledge base page? Need for a very minimal FAQ session.
WordPress makes it difficult to use a Custom Post Type Archive as your homepage, you need to use a solution like thisL http://stackoverflow.com/questions/7734647/how-to-use-a-custom-post-type-archive-as-front-page-in-wordpress
The knowledgeable CPT is “st_kb”
I want to use the Knowledge Base Categories Widget but I get this error message : Notice: Undefined index: number in …/wp-content/themes/supportdesk/framework/widgets/widget-kb-categories.php on line 43
What causes this bug ?
Support is provided via http://herothemes.com please submit a support request there.
The plugin hasn’t been tested but there’s no reason why it wouldn’t work if it’s a well coded plugin.
Hi there, I’m new to Wordpress. I have installed the Demo.xml and activated the theme, but my blog looks nothing like yours.
Is there documentation on how to setup my blog so it’d look like the live demo?
b/c I think it will be so much easier for me to learn from modifing the sample data cuz the format is exactly what I want. Thanks in advance.
You should have a reply to your support request, I’ll help you over there.
Is there a way to put the knowledge base search field in a sidebar using a shortcode or widget?
This isn’t possible at the moment. Sorry about that.
Sorry to trouble you but I am having a bit of difficulty understanding something in the theme.
On your demo website, when you go to a knowledge base post it has the categories on the right in a grey box. I don’t seem to be able to figure out how to add this, could you help?
Also if I add the widgets to the Knowledge Base Sidebar such as Knowledge Base Articles and Categories it doesn’t look like you demo page.
Ive figured it out.. help if I read the instructions a bit more!
Found a strange bug.
I have added the categories to the KB sidebar. Some of my categories have ( ) in, such as “Firewall (Windows)”
However on the live page it cuts off the last ) bracket and the html shows:
<a href="http://example.com/section/firewall-windows/" title="View all posts filed under Firewall (Windows</span>">Firewall (Windows</a>
The only way to fix this is to use the ascii code for the brackets in the category names, then it is interpreted correctly.
Please submit a support request via http://herothemes.com and we’ll help you out as best we can.
Great work, thank you for making it. Looking forward to using and deploying.
Here are my pre-sales questions:
I notice that Translation is supported and built with SEO in mind. Great!
Question is how do you “suggest” to deploy with main language being german, while needing to support (20-30 percent of the time) Italian and French?
For example, my assumption is that the Wordpress app is being used in German language for Employees (internal), while they respectively respond in the appropriate language of the questions asked. Thus Ask in italian and get answer in italian, correct? If so this suggests SEO value is in the respective language (italian) correct?
Is there anything else that one might want to think about?
For a true multilingual site you need to look at plugins such as WPML: http://wpml.org/ to get the full benefits you’re looking for. By default WordPress doesn’t support multiple languages on the same site.
Hello! A simple question. Is it possible to control the user interaction? I mean if I publish a post in the forum, can I know which user visit my link?
Thanks so much!
You would need to look at a plugin to do this, it’s not a feature of the theme.
Thanks Chris! Do you know if exist ???
Unfortunately I don’t, you’d need to do a bit of research, thanks
Hi, I’m trying to login to your support site to open a ticket, but forget my password. I’ve requested my password be reset, and received an email that said “To reset your password, visit the following address: ” followed by nothing—no link to click, just blank. I’ve tried this twice. Also, I’m not able to register as another user, because my license code is already registered. Can you please help me? thank you.
Could you email me via my profile (http://themeforest.net/user/ChrisMooney) with the email address you’ve signed up with I’ll get this sorted for you.
Hi, I haven’t received any response yet – did you receive my email? Thank you
Sorry about that, you should have received a reply now.
The item toggle come support active / opened by default? If you do not have, could be implemented?
I don’t understand what you’re asking?
I have a couple of pre-sales questions:
1. I didn’t notice a way for users to rate the knowledge articles with a thumbs up/down or stars. Does this theme have that as an option or should I consider using a plugin like PollDaddy?
2. From other comments here, it sounds like if you have a multisite setup, you could create a site like support.mydomain.com and all users of mydomain.com could use their same account for support.mydomain.com. Is this correct?
3. Can regular bbPress plugins be used to enhance the functionality of the forums?
1. The theme doesn’t have this functionality built in so you’d need to use a plugin.
2. That’s correct for more details on setting up a WP multisite installation: http://codex.wordpress.org/Create_A_Network
3. Yes, you shouldn’t have any issues using BBPress plugins
For this theme, is the customer able to create a “Request or Support” and the admin can respond to that specific request w/o making it public for everyone else to see? I am very interested in this.
Thank you very much. Great theme BTW
You might want to look into a plugin for BBPress that would do this. I don’t believe it’s a feature of the BBPress out of the box.
I understand this is a wordpress theme with some custom plugins. It is very impressive work, however I am wondering if I can expand by adding other wp plugins.
Based on your previous answers I am in doubt. For example I understand it does not come with a ticket system, so can I install a plugin for it and will it fill well with the site? Or any other “well-coded” plugin available for wordpress to expand it?
You shouldn’t have any issue running any well-coded plugin with this theme. If it fits well with the site depends on the default styling of the plugin.
How are the Knowledgebase entries created and grouped?
Is there a CPT for them? DO you group them by Categories?
The Knowledge Base articles are a custom post type and have their own categories and tags.
Use, by you or one client, in a single end product which end users are not charged for. The total price includes the item price and a buyer fee.
