Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

How to update Tactile theme?

You can upgrade Homa theme by taking the following steps:

  • Download the latest All files & documentation zip archive from your Downloads page on ThemeForest
  • Extract it and locate tactile.zip archive
  • Extract tactile.zip archive and find the folder named tactile
  • Using an FTP client replace the contents of tactile folder on your live server in /wp-content/themes/tactile with the contents of the downloaded tactile folder

You’ve successfully updated Tactile theme.

Note: None of the existing content or settings will be lost.

How to upgrade Visual Composer and LayerSlider plugins to the latest version?

You can upgrade Visual Composer by taking the following steps:

  • Go to your WP Admin -> Appearance -> Themes and activate Tactile (parent theme)
  • Go to the Plugins tab in your WordPress admin panel, locate these two plugins in the list, deactivate and delete them
  • At the top of your WordPress admin panel you’ll see a notification that Visual Composer and LayerSlider are required to be installed
  • Proceed to install and activate these plugins

You’ve successfully updated Visual Composer and LayerSlider plugins.

Note: Prior to LayerSlider update, please export the existing LayerSlider slideshows to preserve them upon plugin update.
