Any news? Mikey sent me another email last night that he was confused with the problem, but no answers? My site had been live since July, I had theme options set and made a back-up before updating the theme to the latest version. After I updated the theme, none of my options show up when you view the site, they are set in the theme options. Nothing I set in theme options actually sticks and shows up. Also my custom CSS does not show up at all. I’ve tried everything. I love this theme, but at this point I’m disappointing my client. Not good! Site has been down a week as we’re playing email tag with no resolution. Please help!

I need your help, I’m getting the shortcode to show me 4 products per line but only shows me 3, What am I doing wrong?

You can see the effect in

Thank you very much

Hi there,

The link you provided in not using The Retailer theme but I am assuming the shortcode you’re using in your page is wrapped around a [full_column] shortcode. Just delete that one, it should do the trick.

In case you won’t be able to figure it out, submit a support request here:

Since you’ve updated to the latest version, the entire purchase has vanished from my themeforest account?!

I can send you full paypal transaction codes and dates, just PLEASE help as my website has become unusable since the update.

Thanks, Ed

And yes, I’ve already logged a support ticket. Even if your site seems to be down for most of the time.

Hey ED,

First, just make sure you’ve bought the theme with this account.

Not sure what cause that. It would be best to contact the Envato support team here: As theme authors, we don’t have access to payments and user details.

Let me know if there’s anything else I can help you with in the meantime.

Cheers, Adrian.

Is it possible to make searching using SKU ? Can I make public SKU ?

For as far as I know, WooCommerce won’t handle search by SKU and about making it public, they removed the option to do it for some reason. I think it would require some custom coding in the templates to get there.

I found simple plugin. It can me useful for someone:

Bought the theme which is a-m-a-z-i-n-g! But still have some issues… 1) how do you make background repeat (of course I turned on ‘boxed’ layout) ? I was trying to find body background in css code, but no luck (intended to paste background-repeat:repeat; code into it, but didn’t find it…)

2) Does the theme make sliders responsive for different devices? Now it seems like auto-response doesn’t work and everything just flows as it wants. . .

Thanks in advance!

Thank you for choosing The Retailer. I’m glad you’re thinking “a-m-a-z-i-n-g” about it.

1) There’s no built-in option for that. You can submit a support request to get help with that.

2) The auto-responsive should work like the sliders you see in the demo. You can choose how it should be handled on mobile devices. If you’re trying to replicate the demo sliders, you can import the settings available in the theme package.

In addition, I wonder how do you enlarge the height of top bar?

Just got back to your other comment, you should submit a support request here to get help.

When clicking the logout button on the header menu it proceeded to the logout page with page title Logout and the short code [woocommerce_logout]. The button does not function. Help!!!!!

The logout link logic has changed in the latest version of WooCommerce. You should simply remove that link from the navigation, but make sure you’re using the latest version of the theme too (1.8.6) which was released to ensure compatibility with the latest of WooCommerce. The theme update will come with a logout link up there to replace the current one which you’ll be removing.

Here’s how to update the theme:

If you need any help further with it, please submit a support request here:

Hi, this is a pre-buy question. The theme includes a mega-menu style, o is it compatible with that kind of menus? Regards

Happy to see you’re considering The Retailer for your site/project.

No, it doesn’t come with a built-in mega menu feature. About plugins, our customers seem to prefer the UberMenu plugin for as far as I know.

Let me know if you have any other questions about it.

Hi, just updated Wordpress, the theme and woocommerce and now I cant add products to my cart AND the javascript function for the cart dropdoen doest work?

Any idea how to fix this asap?

Hi there,

I am assuming you’ve updated WooCommerce to its latest version as well.

Are you using the latest version of the theme (V 1.8.6)? It was released to ensure compatibility with the latest of WooCommerce.

Here’s how to update the theme:

If you need any help further with it, please submit a support ticket.

Hi Adrian,

Yeah I use the newest version of all of it. I found the problem ;-)

I made some changes to the footer.php in the child theme, and I think the new footer had some new content, so it didn’t load the javascript. I deleted the footer from my child theme and copied the new one in my childtheme, and it worked again ;-)

Question Is there a way to show nothing in the footer on the left? So no logo AND no credits cards?

Thanks for your quick reply!

Hey again,

Yes, you can do that by using the following bit of CSS: div.gbtr_footer_widget_credit_cards img { display: none; }

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Adrian.

I have order this theme but i am not able to activate the dutch language of the theme. My server is, now it is mixed dutch and english, can you help me out?

Hey Edwin,

You would have to translate the language files that comes with the theme. You should checkout these tutorials:

Is there any way to get the shop page sidebar filters working? I tried to stick with Woocommerce 2.0 but it automatically updates and I can now some of the sidebar filters wont appear :(

Any help would be great. I’m now on Woocommerce 2.1

Have you submitted a support request?

Cheers, Adrian.

I’m sorry, but I think I might have to go with another theme. The search form in top bar is still not functioning. It’s worse now. :\

I am not finding the envato toolkit in my dashboard. I have looked in the plugins folder for the theme and it is there but the envato toolkit is not showing up in the dashboard. Yes it is activated. Any idea where it is hiding?

We’re not sure yet why could that be, but even if you don’t see it, if it’s installed and activated, you can access it by following a link like:

You can grab its latest version here:

Cheers, Adrian.

hi there. Recently did an upgrade of theme and woo, and not Checkout is busted. You can’t “checkout as guest” or “Create an account”. Any idea of what is going on there? Also have a woo alert about theme using old bundles. Would that have something to do with it.

I have every setting on the backend set correctly. Just like your docs, and in Woo.

Any help would be appreciated. Filed a support ticket too, but haven’t heard back.

“check out is NOT working”. I had a typo above.

I am assuming you’ve udpated the theme via FTP. It would be best if you could update it through the Envato Toolkit plugin that comes packed in the theme. Here’s how to do it:

Some files/templates were removed in the latest version. If you update by overwriting the files via FTP, you need to make sure all old files were removed. You can do that by comparing the files you have on your server vs. the theme files.

Hope this helps.

Cheers, Adrian.

How can I add new custom font? For example, I need “Candarab.ttf”.

p.s. can’t load

Regretfully, there’s no built-in way to upload/integrate a custom font. You’d have to choose from the list of Google Webfonts available in the Theme Options panel. You would have to custom code the CSS to get there and we’re not being able to help with that. Custom changes fall outside the scope of support we’re offering. By the way, the old forum was discontinued at some point last year. Here’s the support page in case you’re looking for it:

Ok…does The Retailer has some russian fonts?

I can see you’ve figure it out in the other comment.

We’re about to buy this nice theme. But, Is there a problem to have product images in landscape or square mode?

Yes you can do that with no problem. Let me know if you have any other questions about The Retailer.

Cheers, Adrian.

I’m working on a website that’s geared toward kids, and so far I’m a little put off that there’s limited typographic control in the theme options.

I’m fine with typing up custom css to override things, but this is proving to be a little difficult in some areas. For example, upon inspecting the headlines of blog posts, it appears that the font-family styles being applied by the theme are being applied INLINE, AND set to !important … so I can’t override it.

I would obviously love to just change it in the theme options, but there’s no individual control of headlines. I want to use a fun display face for the headlines, and obviously that won’t work in the body type.

Thanks much.

Wish I could help you further, but as you may know from the support policy, custom changes fall outside the scope of support.

If there’s anything else we can help you with, feel free to open a support request here:

Cheers, Adrian.

Thanks Adrian.

I ended up going into the template files and pulling out !important from the custom_styles template. That now gives me the ability to use !important in my CSS.

Not everyone would know to do that however. I’m not trying to be a pest here, but having flexibility issues like this present REALLY ding up the value of an otherwise impressive product.

As a designer, when I see the user is able to put in their own custom css, I would expect that custom css (at least when using !important) should be able to take precedence over the inline styles outputted from the template files. By your having put !important in the custom_styles template, you’re basically putting a double lock on that style, which can’t be overridden in the custom code area of the theme options.

Aside from all this, I’m quite happy with this theme, it’s a great product. But in having to go pouring over the template files just to be able to USE the custom code area, I’m somewhat less-than-enthralled.

So for future updates/version of this product … if there’s a functional reason for using !important in the custom_styles template in this manner, please find another way to accomplish what you’re doing (or change your support policy to deal with customers who run into such issues).

Or (even better), add SIGNIFICANTLY more typographic and color controls to the theme options. It’s great you offer the use of (what seems to be) the whole Google library, but as I’m sure you know, the visual size of those fonts vary greatly.

This is a great theme, but I’m dismayed that I would have to pull hairs out over something like this. Think more about your users—in so doing, you’ll mightily increase the value of your product.

Is there any way to change the social media icons in the ‘Connect’ widget? For instance replacing instagram with blogger? I tried changing my sprites but it didnt work.

Those icons are handled by icon font, there’s no quick way to add or remove icons. I can only add this as a features request on the developers list.

Cheers, Adrian.
