Thank you so much for updating Teaser with media uploader as per our request!!! Your support is valued greatly.
the7 is streets ahead of most other themes and keeps getting better.
Thank you very much for feedback!
This is a feature request. Currently in a portfolio item, selection the option “Show media as: Gallery” (for example, with 3 columns), this grid is not responsive, so is quite small on a mobile device.
It would be great if the portfolio media gallery could be responsive, like the ‘Masonry’ grid template for example.
Can you please provide a link to page with it, so I make sure that we’re talking about same things? Thanks!
The gallery scales, but is not responsive. Hope that helps
Thanks. Will discuss it with our guys – think it can be improved.
Thanks. Just to clarify, I think there are some situations when it works very well as it is. In other situations a responsive option would be a nice feature, and /or an option to select how many columns. Hope that helps.
I agree with you. There was some reason why our designed insisted on this layout – now we’re trying to recall what it was
How could I hide the breadcrum based on a specific URL? (what I mean, I don´t want breadcrum in a specific page).
Only by adding bit of custom CSS that will hide breadcrumbs to those pages.
Ok, but how could I do that. I´ve found the CSS that breadcrum uses, but how could I specify a display:none givin a specific URL?
There’s an individual “Custom CSS” field in Visual Composer on each page.
I received email about todays update, but dont see changelog updated.
I am using version 3.0
there is a lot of css customization. will this version work on wordpress3.9?
Please update your changelog
Hi,Recent version of theme is 4.1.2. At this moment on theme description page you see the changelog for 4.1.0 – other 2 version just solved couple of bugs.
Since I updated WP to version 3.9 and then I upgraded the theme (23/04/2014) I no longer see the Visual Composer. What should I do?
Probably you are using some old plugin that is not compatible with WP 3.9. Try to disable plugins and check what causes the issue. (E.g. I 100% know that WPML is currently broken in WP 3.9)
Just like that. Thank you. I just deactivated WPML and everything returned to normal.
As I know guys from WPML are working hard on compatibility update and it is already in beta stage.
Just updated to 4.1.2. Thanks for the great work fixing the issues. You guys are really responsive to your customers. The back button on the mobile menu is now working for me. Great!
Menus are now working as expected in terms of the highlight colour on all pages but the home page. On the home page, all the items that have drop down menus, still have the “act” class and show in the accent/highlight colour.
Also, for some reason, the logo in the header, floating menu, and footer are now showing the lo-res version even on retina screens.
You have same “http://www.bluecrossanimalhospital.ca” links on all parent menu items. No wonder theme recognizes them as active when you are on your homepage (http://www.bluecrossanimalhospital.ca) Get read of those spare links and all will work fine.
what should I make them? they’re just headers, not active links. When I had them as anchor tags (#) until last week, they messed up the mobile menus in them version 4.1. That’s when I changed them all to the link that they are now.
Well, those are “parent” menu items make. Add real structure to them. E.g. for “Services” add http://www.bluecrossanimalhospital.ca/services/ and so on.
Thanks for your help—truly appreciated. Giving them structure has fixed the ones that are regular menus, but not the ones set as megamenus.
Ahaa! Found bad links in the sub headers of the megamenus. Changed them to structured headers and the menus are working perfectly. Thank you!
NB. The logos in the headers and footer are still showing the low res version on retina displays.
Thanks for update!
Regarding low-res logos. What is your hosting company? I suspect it is WP engine or some other hoster with build-in caching?
I’m hosting with Funio. They’re a pretty vanilla shared host that don’t do any extra caching AFAIK. I’m using W3 Total Cache as you guys recommend for compatibility with the7. When I disable W3 total Cache, the HD logos are used in Firefox and Chrome, but still not in Safari.
Update: I don’t have to disable W3TC completely. If I disable Page Cache/Cache Preload, Firefox and Chrome are fine, just Safari that has the problem.
BTW, LOVING the new teaser interface: being able to pick and upload images from inside the short code editor is totally wonderful. Looking forward to seeing that expanded to other short codes!
Clear cache in safari and everything will fork fine (you see when you first visited site in non-retina mode that display PPI was stored in cookie, so you need to clear it).
Regarding W3TC. For retina images support you need to disable page caching and enable object and DB caching. This will make you site response time about 500-700 ms slower but all will for fine. Also if you’re using retina images extensively I strongly recommend you serving all images from CDN (E.g. our demos are using MaxCDN).
Regarding “teaser” interface and other shortcodes. That’s the plan
Okay, I deleted the cookie, and disabled page caching and that seemed to do the trick for the retina images.
However, this isn’t really a solution. Shouldn’t the cookie reset when the monitor changes from retina/HPDI to standard and back? People often connect and disconnect external monitors that are different from their laptops.
Turning off page caching isn’t really an option either, especially if one is dealing with Retina images (which we pretty much have to or things look pretty bad on retina screens). Earlier in this thread, we were advised to turn page caching ON. When i turn off page caching, it adds around 800ms to the response time, which makes it nearly triple what it is with page caching on (550ms to 1350ms).
You’re right that I need to start using MaxCDN, but I wanted to get all the other pieces working before I add one more variable
Is there a guide somewhere on the right settings to use for W3TC for the7? I’ve combed through these comments and the knowledge base, and there are bits and pieces, but they conflict, and it’s confusing anyway.
For example, should I turn on Minify? What settings should that have?
Thanks again for all your help!
To make your site working with retina images and maximize its performance you need to enable objects and database caching in W3TC. CDN is also recommended (retina images are normally quite big and it’s always a good idea to serve them from locations closest to site visitors). That’s how our demo works (and it has HUGE amount of page views).
Regarding cookie. Yes, you absolutely right. We’re going to make an improvement in one of closest updates.
We’re currently working on changes to W3TC plugin to make it parse right images based on screen DPI. But that is not a quick work since it takes time to learn plugins codebase.
Thank you so much for all your explanations and help. You guys are great!
Thanks for feedback!
Hi. I love the theme. I am having an issue with the portfolio page though. I cant seem to get the ajax sorting feature working. It works when i disable ajax sorting, but does not work when i enable it.
Any help is appreciated. I cleared my browser cache and this did not solve the issue.
Please update to v4.1.2 it was released couple of hours ago.
will try this and get back to you. Thank you.
It worked! awesome.
Hi,Thanks for update.
Hi there! This theme is very modern and beautiful.
But i need Arabic support. When you add this feature to theme?
thanks a lot
Work on RTL languages support is in the progress.
Is it a possibility to make a full screen slider like the revolution full screen slider but with the layer slider plugin that is provided?
If so, Is there a video or guide i can follow to do so?
Is far as I know there’s no such feature in Layer Slider.
ok, is there a guide I can follow to create a slider like the full width and height slider like on the7’s one page demo?
That’s Slider Revolution. Please import the dummy data with it. Thanks!
Where can i find the changelog?
In the end of theme description page.. as usual
Running the7 on a multisite and I updated the theme today using the “Update Theme” button under Theme Options. The theme broke.
I get the message “Broken Theme: Stylesheet is missing.” Looking at my site through FTP, I see a new folder under wp-content called “Upgrade.” I see a folder there called “dt-the7_v.tmp” and under that, ostensibly the new version of the theme (yes, it is the new version according to the style.css file in that folder). Why did the update not work? Which files do I need to manually replace to get my theme working again?
I have custom CSS entered on many parts of my theme (which I assume are all stored in the custom CSS folders, correct?). By uploading the theme again, will those be replaced? How should I fix this?
Please, submit a request via our online help-desk http://support.dream-theme.com – we’ll get back to you ASAP and take a look what is wrong.?Thanks!
When I add a simple html image in the layer slider and I scale the viewport down, the image doesn’t scale proportionately or stay contained in the parent element. How do I fix this? Notice the play button in the slider and the code I am using is below.
<a class="playbtn" href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=elXk87IKgCo" rel="wp-video-lightbox" title=""><img src="/wp-content/uploads/2014/04/play-btn.png" alt="YouTube" width="100%" /></a>
I’m afraid we cannot provide dedicated support for bundled third-partly software (and especially its customization) Sorry and thank you very much for understanding!
I can report that today’s update 4.1.2 fixed all previous issues and everything is working great again. Thank you very much! I know it has been a rough period lately.
One minor thing I’ve noticed is that the Visual Composer text blocks are now shorter than they used to be. When entering or editing text, you have to do a lot of scrolling to see everything. I am only seeing 5 lines of text at a time. Is that a Visual Composer problem and should I contact them?
I’m afraid we cannot alter that Isn’t WYSIWYG resizable (can be enlarged by dragging right bottom corner of it)?
Unfortunately, that doesn’t work for VC text blocks. I tried. Thanks.
I am trying to have an image show up and following your recommended format for lists.
[dt_list style=”1 / 2 / 3” bullet_position=”middle / top” dividers=”true / false”]
However it does not seem to be working. Can you confirm this code is working?
Can you please post a full chunk of code that you are using, so I can check it? Thanks!
Hi I found another bug: In v4.1.2 whenever you switch skins all the settings are reset. For example, wide or boxed layout, fonts, header positions, etc. This did not happen in v4.0.0
Thanks for the recent update btw, I waited a couple revisions before I upgraded until most of the kinks in VC were gone. The skin setting thing is not that big of a deal but it certainly does take some effort redoing all the changes every time you change a skin lol.
That’s not a bug I’m afraid – that’s how skins work. They contains data not only about colors, but other settings like headers layouts, etc.
note to self: in the new demo it looks like for ‘minimal’ skin the cool looking old solid-rounded rectangle menu button that’s in regular skin looks like it’s gone, replaced with just a line.. that’s a feature for minimal vs normal skin
We changed default skin for full demo to “7 minimal” for “testing purposes”. It’s a bit “lighter” than classic skin. Do not worry – good-old iOS7 skin it there
Thanks for the theme update, but it seems that the menu doesn’t work well in responsive mode. it only shows the main menu but when we click on the main menu the sub menu’s do not appear.
Can you please specify your browser, its version and link where we can reproduce this issue. Thanks!
have send all the details on your ticketing portal, ticket id 11382
Thanks! Will ask our guys to take a look at it ASAP.
I like this theme, especially with the contact information header.
Is it possible to put custom html or shortcodes in the header?
You can use raw HTML there. But shortcodes will not be parsed.
I meant the top bar, i found a ticket: http://support.dream-theme.com/knowledgebase/how-to-add-a-custom-social-icon/. This will work with the icon pack i have found i’ll guess?
(replied to earlier comment )
What is difference between Show and Hide floating menu?
If “Hide” is enabled, you will not see the floating menu panel in the top of browser window when you scroll the page down.
