Missing style sheet error when installing the theme

A common issue that can occur with users new to installing WordPress themes is a "Broken theme and/or stylesheets missing” error message being displayed when trying to upload or activate the theme. This error message does not mean that the theme you have purchased is broken, it simply means it has been uploaded incorrectly. Luckily, there is a very easy fix.

What you should do first before submitting a support ticket

To speed along the support request, please follow the guide below:

  1. Make sure your site is running the latest version of WordPress.
  2. Make sure that the TinySalt theme and the required plugin “TinySalt Extension” have been updated to the latest version. Some known issues may have been fixed in an update.
  3. Update to the latest version of other plugins on your website.
  4. Check our Online Documentation first.
  5. Disable any other plugins and then check if it fix the issue.
  6. If you still cannot find a solution, please open a support ticket at Loft.Ocean Help Center.

Submitting a support request

Please include the following information in as much detail as possible:

  • Your website URL
  • Which version of the theme you are using
  • Detailed description of the issue or the question
  • Screenshots of the problem
  • Any notices or error messages
  • Any other information that you find useful
  • And please write in English.

How long does it take for LoftOcean support to reply to your support request?

  • We provide support for our customers Monday to Friday: 10 AM to 6 PM (UTC+10).
  • Support requests will be processed in the order received. Usually we reply to all requests within 24 hours.
  • However, sometimes we may receive a large number of requests, or some questions are complicated and require in-depth research to answer. In the above two cases, it may take more than 24 hours for us to respond.
  • If it is a weekend, our response time may take 48 hours or more: if you submit a support request on Friday night in our time zone, we won’t be able to see it and start working on it until the next Monday’s business hours.

We will carefully handle every user’s support request. When you encounter a problem, please send us the detailed information of the problem. If we do not respond to you immediately, please don’t worry, maybe it is just during our non-working hours (night or weekend), or it is because there are other users’ requests in the request queue ahead of your requests.

The requests in the queue will be processed one by one. Therefore, when you submit a support request, please be sure to provide as much information as possible so that when we start to process your request, we can have enough information and provide accurate answers instead of asking for other necessary information (this will cause it to take longer to solve the problem for you).

Thank you very much.

Instagram Cannot Show since October 24, 2020?

This problem is caused by the Instagram API change that happened on October 24, 2020. Unfortunately, this specific change was not mentioned in the Instagram announcement.

We have updated the required plugin “TinySalt Extension” to resolve this issue.

If this issue happens on your website, and if you are using TinySalt v1.8, you need to remove the old “TinySalt Extension” from your website, then download and install the updated one. Please check this chapter of the documentation for the instructions: Instagram Cannot Show since October 24, 2020?.

Updated on November 20, 2020:

We just released TinySalt v1.9 so you just need to update your TinySalt theme and the required plugin “TinySalt Extension” to the latest version to resolve this problem. Thanks.

Please follow the steps below to update:

Step 1: Update the TinySalt theme.

Step 2: Then, please also Update the Required Plugin.

Step 3: Clear Cache! After updating, please clear your website cache (if you are using any cache plugin), and clear your browser cache, refresh the page to check the results. Or, try to access the website with another browser that has not cached the website to check again.

Haven’t received the update notification?

There are 2 methods to get the update notification:

Method 1 – Visit ThemeForest Downloads page ( https://themeforest.net/downloads ) > make sure you have logged in with the account you used when purchasing the theme > find the theme on the “Downloads” page > Tick the “Get notified by email if this item is updated” option.

Method 2 – Install and activate the “Envato Market” plugin on your website > Add your “Envato API Personal Token” > then you will get update notifications directly on your website dashboard. Please check this chapter of the theme documentation for the detailed instructions.

Important Notice about Instagram Issues

Recently, Instagram made changes again (Since June 2020). If you find that your Instagram feed cannot be displayed on your website, please check this chapter in the TinySalt online documentation for a solution: Set up your Instagram.

Questions related to Page Builder plugins

1. Does the theme reply on any page builder?

No, TinySalt theme does not rely on any page builder functionality. We did not use any third-party page builder when building our demo sites, so you do not need a page builder to create a site similar to one of our demo sites.

2. Is this theme compatible with popular page builder plugins?

Yes, this theme is compatible with popular page builder plugins (Elementor, WPBakery Page Builder, Visual Composer). The theme follows WordPress coding standards. If third-party plugins also comply with WordPress coding standards, there should generally be no compatibility issues when using them together.

Please note: You can use the default elements included in a page builder plugin. However, we have not made any optimizations for third-party page builder plugins, so there is no support for layouts of our theme to be displayed via a page builder plugin, and you cannot add the theme’s built-in home widgets by using any third-party page builder plugin.

3. Is there any page builder plugin in this theme package?

No, there is no page builder plugin included in the theme package.

4. How can I display content created with a page builder plugin as my homepage, instead of a homepage created with WordPress Customizer?

On your site dashboard, please go to “Settings” > “Reading” panel, find the option “Front page displays”, choose “A static page”, and select a static page as your homepage.

And then scroll down to find the option “Static Homepage Content”, choose “From page content” in the drop down list.

Then please go to Pages > All pages, edit your homepage with a page builder plugin. Your website home page will show the content you added to this static home page.

For more details, please check our documentation: Static Homepage + Blog.
