My support period has finished, I had not asked for any support from 1 year, it seems unfair that I will now how to pay for one simple query that might affect a few of your users. Bearing in mind that this is aimed to improve your theme could you please change the contacts form to take have on the confirmation email the same from and to emails as admin emails for SMTP to work… https://youtu.be/7OuVKVZ-tQM?t=2m5s I am not developer but i think this is the reason why it doesnt work. I think support for updating the theme and components should be free for every customer, not just the support help buyers, as it’s something regular to do but sometimes has its peculiarities (with some previous theme updates i remember there was some problems with components updates – Visual Composer, e.g.). In the readme that comes with the download there’s no info about how to update theme nor components neither.

I don’t dare updating in case i have problems and something can break. Then… i should pay support to solve it?

I agree to pay for some tweaking or customization, but not for solving bugs or updating. It’s frustrating.

Updating a WordPress theme is easy. Just use FTP to delete the theme’s folder on your web server. then upload the new theme folder from your computer to your web server.

If you are nervous about using FTP there is a plugin made by Envato (the people who run this ThemeForest site) that automates the theme update procedure: http://envato.github.io/wp-envato-market/ If you have any questions about that Envato Market plugin please ask Envato, it is their plugin not ours.

To update the required/recommended plugins, go to Dashboard > Updates and click the Check Again button. All available updates will then be listed and you can update items directly from that page. This is standard WordPress procedure.

If after updating you have problems specific to your situation you will need to renew your support license and ask for help in our Help Center.

I uploaded the theme via FTP. Site is here http://www.cbd-access.com/. I am not seeing the Resort CSS load after choosing it in the setup. Instead, I get the default. What am I missing?

Last night I had Dreamhost create a new account for my domain and install WordPress and an SSL Certificate from Global Sign. After the site was up I uploaded theme-vellum-v1.7.12 that I had just downloaded from here. During that installation your theme modified permissions on the server to allow unauthorized entry to my secure site. The unauthorized compromise was discovered by Dreamhost and the necessary steps taken to secure the site were then completed. The directory wp-content/uploads/js_composer was created by the vellum during install and was purposely left that way by you.

The Visual Composer plugin was included in your theme that was installed on our server. In fact your theme specifically REQUIRED the installation of the Visual Composer plugin that created the folder and assigned it the insecure permissions of 777.

We selected your theme for my own personal website, based on many things which included the trust and reputation of both Parallelus and Themeforest. That trust included being confident that you had tested all plugins included in the theme for any firmware,adware, trogons, and security issues before making it available for customers to download and install.

I have notified you of a potential security threat which was created by a 3rd party plugin you had shipped with your theme and was required to be installed by you. I suggest you contact the developers who created the plugin you provided in your theme and get the issue remedied.

As for us, we removed your theme in its entirety from our server and any 3rd party plugins that were included and have moved on.

Hi, never needed to call support and it would appear my support has expired. However, I am sure I am not the only one who has noticed the Vellum Masthead Navigation is not sticky on mobile and scrolls of the screen. This is a huge shame as lots of other themes have a sticky mobile menu implemented. Is there a way to get the menu to stick to the top of mobile devices – some CSS would be useful or pointers where to add it. Many thanks. Great theme by the way :-)

Check out the Dock Top Banner option in Theme Options. Note that it applies to layout styles with top headers only.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I saw that, it’s a shame that it doesn’t work when you use the “Full Width – Left Header” Surely a menu should be dockable at the top of the screen regardless of where you locate it? No plans to support this in the future then?

So I have to pay $68 dollars to renew for another year just because the mobile menu stays open when it shouldn’t – for you then to state this is the way the theme works. It should close when you select an option. I anticipate this may have something to do with the fact it is a single page site with the menu items pointing to #anchors on the page.

Is it just me or is anyone else having major problems with this theme? I’ve installed it on liquid web and wp engine and tested both servers and Im encountering many problems.

1. can’t update post. when I use visual composer and try to save changes to a test block, the page HANGS after I hit save. Then the entire site seems to freeze. this has happened on two fresh installs on liquid web AND wp engine. wp engine support can’t see a problem on their end and says its most likely due to errors on this theme.

I want to use this theme and be supportive but it’s been a nightmare and I’m wondering what is causing the conflicts. Is there another update coming soon/?

No one else (from more than 4,500 installs) is reporting any problems like those you describe, and we are not experiencing any problems at all on our sandbox sites. If you start a topic for this in our Help Center we’ll be glad to help you troubleshoot your problem.

I’ve never used an lazy load plugins with Vellum, but I can’t think of any reason why they wouldn’t work. I think the Visual Composer plugin already has some lazy load features.

Pre-sale questions: 1) In Resort/Spa can I replace the logo with svg? And will the theme scale it properly or is the responsive design based on alternate versions of raster images? If it can handle svg, was it the optimum image size I should upload? 2) Can I import third-party CTA? I’d like to include the ’’Shop’ buttons that take readers directly to my Shopify and Etsy sites, rather than use Woocommerce. Thanks

WordPress doesn’t directly support SVG files because that document format is inherently insecure, but I think there are plugins you can install that add support for SVG.

If you want to add buttons that link to your existing Shopify and Etsy sites, yes you can do that. The Vellum theme doesn’t impose any restrictions as to what content you add.

I am using this theme at work. I love the theme, but it seems like Visual Composer is far out of date. I see on your page that the theme is compatible with up to VC 4.8. I just wanted to confirm if VC should be able to update to 4.8 since I heard that you will not be updating beyond what we have which is 4.12.

You heard wrong.

The current version of the Vellum theme (v1.7.12) comes with Visual Composer v5.0.1. Whenever we publish a theme update we always try to include in the update the latest stable versions of all the theme’s required and recommended plugins.

Ok, thank you for your answer. We were able to upgrade Visual Composer to 5.0.1. However, I don’t see the row stretch functionality. Is that functionality supposed to be supported?

We haven’t tested Vellum with WooCommerce v3.0.0 yet.

From what we can see, lots of people don’t like the v3.0.0 update and it appears to be buggy: https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/reviews/

I think we will wait until they have ironed out the problems before we test it with Vellum. We’ll maybe test the WooCommerce update when they release v3.0.1 or v3.0.2.

OK – having just installed the latest update of Vellum and Wordpress I notice various parts of the theme are broken. I don’t expect to have to pay to sort out the issue!

We are not seeing any issues with the latest version of Vellum. No one else has reported any theme specific issues since the last theme update on March 14. if you are having issues it must be unique to your install and set-up. To get help with that you will need to start a new topic in our Help Center.

If you tell me the specific parts of the theme you say are broken I can check if you like. But to get support you do need an active support license.

Hi, I’m having an issue with the way the rollover menu displays on this theme. The roll-out menu displays the buttons below,specifically buttons that are on the slider. Is this a z-index problem or other issue?
