Mauricio Reyes - Typografik
Mauricio Reyes lives in Virginia, USA where he runs his freelancing practice Typografik. Over the last decade, Reyes has worked on numerous projects for the private sector and US government.
In addition to graphic design I also posses the technical knowledge in the areas of CSS and Web 2.0 development. My skills are the best of both worlds, very artistic and also technical.
“As a student during the pre-computer era, I learned to concept with pencil, and mastered such bygone skills as hand-kerned type, photo-mechanicals and print production using screens and reprographic processes. When computers arrived I quickly learned how to apply the speed and efficiency they offered. This combination of old and new skills gives me a distinct advantage; I can plan carefully my concepts on paper, then expertly transfer them to the electronic realm. I am also a skilled Illustrator and photographer, which aids in my ability to create striking pieces of information design.
The diversity of the cultures to which I have been exposed is reflected in an adventurous use of color and type. Type creates moods, it alters space and the environment, my design uses type and color as communication tools.”
