I am thinking of purchasing your fantastic template but have a couple of questions as I would like to change a few areas in the layout. I have listed them below:
1. Is it possible to reduce the hieght of the slider.
2. Is it possible to reduce the hieght of the space at the top which holds the menu and logo as I would like more items to appear before the need to scroll.
3. Can I add a plugin to show mutlipule pictures on a single product page. I am thinking along the lines of a view selector similiar to those found in e-commerce sites.
4. Do you know of a plugin that would allow customers to book online.

Thank you very much for considering my template as one of your purchase list.- Slider : Sure, it’s so easy to reduce height of the slider, because there is a height parameter inside of the slider module.
- menu space and Logo : yes it is, but you need to adjust ul li padding on its main menu. if you’ve purchased you go then to css/menu/mega.css file. Also you need to add/call some module positions in block/header.php, as I didn’t provide module position in this area. I might add it in my next eatoreh update. (So, I’d like to say thanks for this issue)
- Multiple image plugin : On my Joomla 1.5 version, I support the template with K2 Component, it’s powerfull content component. Surely it’s so easy to have multiple images show on single item, you just need to install “Simple Image Gallery” plugin. But, I don’t prepare the css for this things so you might need to add some in the css file.
- No, I don’t know the best one. But, I’m sure there would be many plugin outside there. But, I’m not so sure there would be free plugin.

I would like to build a product catalogue with this template by using k2 component. On your demo site k2 is only used within blogs and tags. Do i have to build css for product catalog for myself or is it already in this template?

Yeah, on my demo site K2 has been reconfigured and restyled for blog, user page, comments form and tag page. but, unfortunatelly, I haven’t styled it for product catalog. I don’t promised, but it might be on my consideration to update this template.

Thanks a lot, I’m glad to know you’re interested in my template. Well, for multiple language, surely you need to be supported by 3rd party extention, it might be “Joomfish” or “Multilang M17n” you can get both of them as free. after you install it, then you should translate your content manually.
No worries about the packages, it comes with good documentation about package installation and the other stuff, though it’s not 100% explain everything, at leat it will assist you to understand many things about this template.

Calendar…?? Hmm, I’m not really sure whay extention I should recommend to you, As I can say that I’m not so often to use calendar. But, you might try Evenlist calender and also Jevents, both of them have good rating. but, if you use Joomla 1.5 version, there are K2 calendar that can be used directly.

I loaded the image slider again, in the Top Position, nothing. I have tried every position for every module, no modules are showing up. I just don’t understand. The only position where anything has shown up so far, is the Footer position. Every other position is nothing. I have loaded all of the extensions for 1.6….not 1.5.

I’m sorry for my slow reply, please go here http://www.myhealthiestlife.net/ and you’ll got your slideshow module displays correctly, right? you just don’t set it in the correct position. “top” position is not loaded/available on this template. that’s why, your slideshow on “top” position doesn’t show up. So please, see this again http://www.myhealthiestlife.net/?tp=1 to guide you how to put your module position.

Ok. I see you got the slider to work at the top of the page, thank you. I see the module position you loaded it in. However, I have been referencing your Module Positions on the Template from the beginning and they do not match up with the options I am given when I choose the position for the module. For example: You have the position: Middle/ Top 1, Top2, Top 3 but when I go to choose my positions, There is No “Middle” or Top1, Top2, etc. Then I go back to your module template reference and see “Promo” position, “Top Promo”, then go back to my modules to choose that position, and there is no “Promo” option or “Top Promo”, etc. I don’t See a “Featured” option to choose in my module…etc. The Module Names are not matching up with the Module Layout you have on the template. I just don’t know what I keep missing?

You could please go to templates > eatoreh > core > > etc > layouts > default.xml to also understand what module position are available on this template. So, when you’re in each module, in module position field (you may select existing pre-defined module position from the modal display, Or you may type your own module position by typing the name in the field, type the position’s name that is referenced by default.xml file. for example : “sliderload)”, and hit save.

Maskeenan, I can not get the slider to show up in any other position! I am saying that is the only position on the page it will actually show up! No matter where else I place it, it won’t show, nor will any of the other modules, no matter what placement I choose. I have been working in Joomla for 4 years and am well aware of where and how to place and activate modules. I have never had this problem. Can you please take a look again at my backend. I really don’t understand the problem. Thank you.
I got the Ari Slider to show up….but only in the Footer Position. No matter what position I place it on my Home Page, Top, User 1, Banner, etc. the Ari Slider won’t show up, again. I don’t know why this module isn’t showing up! Please help!

Surely your ari image slider shows on the footer because you place it on the footer position. So, please change ari’s module position sliderload, then I’m sure it will show on the header.

Me again, about the logo, I was in the settings.css for the template, not in the “dodger” folder (my color selection)..so, Now it’s looking good…
I have the site “online” now, but I’m having this weird problem, I think it might be something with the .htaccess or htaccess.txt?
If I don’t add the /index.php in my link..404 page appears …

I’m glad you can solve the logo issues. Well about error 404. let me say that I’m not so good in this issue, but yes, in my oppinion it might be your .httaccess files, or you could please try to go to your administration page > Global Configuration > SEO Setting > set “Search Engine Friendly URLs” = No. And let’s see what happen.

I have already done reinstalled everything but none of the modules I am adding, are showing up on the home page. Can you please look at the settings for example in the AriSlider? Nothing is changed.

You don’t need to reinstall the extentions. but, you need to reinstall the whole part of the website by using the quickstart package. please don’t be wrong in picking up the quickstart file because there 2 quickstart file : for Joomla 1.5 and Joomla 1.6. By using the quickstart, you will have the website very similar with the my demo site.

I’ve just logged into your administration page. and I can conclude that you could please reinstall the site using Quickstart package, filename is eatoreh_quickstart_J16.zip. there much be easier than you install the default Joomla 1.6 package, then install the template, and then install the extention (modul, component, plugin) one by one, and add some data, and finally need to setting any extentions parameter. it will waste much of your time. So, I think using quickstart package is the best answer I think.

Specifically I am trying to set up modules and nothing is showing up on the home page. I have been following directions and have worked with joomla 1.5 for 3 years…this is my first time using joomla 1.6 but it all seems the same.

Actually 400px in logo size is fine, your image logo shouldn’t be looked being cut in the middle. 400px is still tolerated, if you have no many menu item on your main menu. But I think there will be no enough white-space between logo and your menu.
I’m worried though you’ve modified logo size in setting.css, your site still loads the older css. So, please clear/clean your T3 cache on your administration page, and then try to refresh your page by hitting ctrl + F5.

I just have one more little issue, The logo, I’ve modify the setting.css file …puting almost 400 px width …but the image looks like it was cut in the middle

I’m glad that finally you can solve your installation problem. About the logo, is your logo so as width as 400px? it’s so big logo, then. and surely I think it will break the main menu on the right side of your logo. could it set smaller?
yea, to change the logo size, you’re on the right file, setting.css.
