I would like to ask you if your theme includes the Ultimate Addons for Visual Composer plugin or only the visual composer for Wordpress.

-theme loads VERY slowly. In some cases 30 seconds plus on a server that renders other sites in less than 1.5 seconds. Any more than 6 seconds and viewers/customers tend to click away.

-adding icons uses a cumbersome shortcode system requiring you to scroll through and remember codes every time, rather than using Font Awesome icons or a similar easy system

- file structure is non-standard and sloppy (e.g. no admin folder – all options including functions, layout, etc. are rendered by one page making adding options a test of patience)

- trying to build a child theme results in the parent theme fighting you at every turn. Add custom CSS to change login buttons? Good luck. It’s reset in 5 other places, each of which overrides your efforts. This is mainly due to the options panel generating a huge custom css file (with many things that aren’t configurable in the panel, like rounded button corners) and giving it priority

- adding the newsletter form widget and installing the mailchimp plugin as seen in the demo results in a “page not found” error when someone actually tries to use it.

- adding and modifying galleries is non-intuitive and there are other pains; You have to create galleries in one area, then when building pages add the galleries with a gallery post ID… but the galleries are listed by title, not post ID, so you have to go through clicking galleries ad nauseum ‘til you find the one you want. And if you installed the demo content there are a LOT of galleries taking up server space. 65 of them in fact. Have fun.

- spelling errors throughout (e.g. words like strength and length consistently misspelled strenght and lenght)

- sample content has many duplicate pages and makes the site HUGE. Creators should pare pages down to just what is necessary to demonstrate capabilities

- uses the visual composer system which is okay for noobs but frustrating for experienced developers and designers. Also has a constant nag box to buy the premium version of same, even though creators tout the inclusion of the basic VC with purchase.

If you’re looking for a theme where you just change a few colours and have something pretty, albeit identical to anyone else who used the theme, this might work well for you. If you’re a developer wanting to make a child theme with more than basic CSS alterations, or trying to explain to a client why things have to be a certain way rather than something that can be changed, you’ll feel like you’re bashing your head against a brick wall.

I am using the child theme scalia-scrollex-child – thought it inherited testimonials from it’s parent theme.

Hi there! Just two questions:

1.- There are new versions for:

Wordpress—> 4.5 Visual Composer—> 4.11.1 Mailchimp for wordpress—> 3.1.6 Wordpress page widget—> 2.9

Is there any problem if I update them? Should I wait to your new version of Scalia? Depends on the concrete case?

2.- I see this message on visual composer: “Elements within this list are deprecated and are no longer supported in newer versions of Visual Composer.” What happend if I use some of this elements now? Will disappear when I update Visual Composer?

3 Pre-purchase questions. Please confirm that the “hamburger” lines menu icon is re-stylable. I see where there are many, many icons. Can this be made smaller and more square? And second, I would like to have a transparent top menu at all times, just the few words across the top, is this possible. And third, I have a grid made in Essential Grid that I want to use. Do you know if that grid plugin is compatible with your theme?

I know my support is expired but I don’t publish often so I didn’t start using this theme until recently even though i purchased it a while ago. I would like to remove the time stamp that shows next to the post item when using the blog page template. I see it uses .post-time but I tried to add CSS to say “display: none;” and that did not work. How can I remove it from showing? Thanks!
