Where the avatar is located, there seems to be a lot of space between the left bar and the avatar and info. How do I remove some of this space?

I don’t know if this was asked before. I know that you used an extension to have user’s pictures show up next to usernames in some places. But how do I give users these nice flat “random” stock pictures, based on their specified gender/biological sex?

The images are simply the users’ avatars. The stock avatars aren’t included and phpBB will simply show whatever the user has chosen as their avatar.

Thanks for your message, and your support of the Milk Theme
With regard to the forum ‘icons’, are you referring to the read/unread icons or assigning a unique image to each forum?
If the read/unread, these can definitely be changed through either replacing the current icon images or changing the file path locations in colours.css.
If the latter, these can be added by uploading your images to your server, then specifying the file path in the ‘forum image’ field when editing a forum.
As for the sidebar, yep this can be disabled in the flightdeck settings. Announcements aren’t currently built into the theme, but I believe there may be a phpBB extension that achieves this. The Milk Theme supports all phpBB extension hooks, so there shouldn’t be a problem with compatibility.

Hello PlanetStyles, we just updated to the latest version and we discovered a bug which is also on your current demo forum. Go to any text and try highlighting it. It results in the selected text not showing, it’s white on white: http://i.imgur.com/jAF7gFr.png <- here’s a screenshot. We try to fix it ourselves for now but it would be great having it in the next update

Interesting. The demo version is running 1 version behind at the moment as there were no front-end visual changes in the last update, however this problem should have been fixed in the most recent release (1.0.2).

Simple question:
In your demo there are a global announcement and standard announcement. How do I create these announcements?
When I create a topic as admin, there are no options to create a topic as announcement. Search in admin panel and not found any options too. :cry:
Hello . By default the administrator group doesn’t have permissions enabled to post global announcements. If you update the permissions or add yourself to the global moderators group you’ll see the option when posting a new topic
Hi there, just bought your theme and it works great so far But I now have a problem where I need your help. So: the forum runs in german language. I just added some html to #3 in footer. In german words we have letters like ü or ä and now these letters are automatically changed to ?? by the system.
For example “f??r” instead of “für”.
What can I do to solve this problem?

Hello . We’ve noticed a missing hook in the Milk Theme that’s required to make the Share On extension work. If you can contact us through the ‘support’ tab, we’ll be happy to provide you with instructions on how to fix.
Otherwise, this will be fixed in the next update within a few weeks

BTW, what is the ideal size for the background header image?
That’s a great question! If you enable the option in FlightDeck any header image you choose will automatically fill the space. Generally though you larger images work better. Hard to define an exact size as everyone’s device will be a different size.

That’s a great question! The process largely depends on whether you’ve made any modifications to the Milk Theme or flightdeck.
If you haven’t, simply uninstall FlightDeck and the Style, then re-install the new versions.
If you have made edits to those files, you will need to note the changes you’ve made, install the style, then re-apply those changes.

Hi, what file can i edit to put some PHP code into sidebar? Other issue: Special characters in sidebar are converted to ”??”, despite forum language. How to solve this?

Regrettably at the moment the Milk Theme doesn’t support cyrillic characters in the sidebar – it’s an issue we’re aware of and aiming to fix soon.
As for PHP in the sidebar, this can’t be achieved through FlightDeck, but can be achieved through modifying the sidebar template file directly. See: https://wiki.phpbb.com/Tutorial.Template_syntax#PHP and ensure that the “PHP in templates” setting is enabled in ACP.
The template file is: /styles/milk/template/sidebar.html

Can I ask if you’ve made any changes to the Milk Theme or FlightDeck code? If you haven’t simply:
1) Back up your site 2) Uninstall the flightdeck extension and remove data 3) Reinstall new version of flightdeck and reconfigure 4) The Milk Theme files can be overwritten with the new (updated) set
If you can email us through the Support Tab we can discuss options for us doing this for you
i use pure this the milk theme and did’t change anything … so, i must remove data ? Delete all data in my forum? and then, reinstal or reconfig again my forum
