Would there be a way in this template to click on an image that would open up a youtube video in it’s own window on our site? Much like when a photo is clicked it brings up just the photo by itself. Hope that makes sense.

Hi there. We are a part purchaser of PORTO and are about to purchase another copy for a new project. Before I do, I have a couple questions related to the Shop themes – and I thank you for bearing with me as this is an important client.
1. Product details pages look great. Unfortunately, it isn’t realistic to expect, nor enforce 600×800 photos as our new client will have images of all sizes – both tall and wide. How can we get around this using your product detail layout? We don’t really want the zoom feature – which I am sure that can be disabled. And we also don’t want to be limited to 4 thumbnails below the main pic. Now I know there are ways to custom code this but I am trying to avoid having to tear down too much of what is already in place. We would probably want the clicks of each thumb to open as a large lightbox image and not replace the main photo.
2. Same holds true on the featured products carousel. Our dimensions of the products will vary. We would certainly be enforcing a max height and width of the images that our client uploads for their site, but the boxes themselves would have both tall and wide images in them. For us it is typically easier to take their uploaded images, and crop from center for the thumbnails to all be square. Then we would obviously display the full image upon click.
3. If you look at demo shop #5, we like this particular layout but don’t want to use the blue colors. We would want a more red-based theme. I know we can simply manipulate the CSS ourselves, but is there a red css that can be implemented with this same layout? I apologize in advance if this is a stupid question. I haven’t looked at the files in detail.
4. In the lineup of “featured products”..... the product titles will obviously vary in length. The demos are clearly set up to show uniformity. How will these columns respond to long titles that don’t fit on one line?
5. A final question: I love the entire header in demo shop 5’s inside pages and may just want to use that (above the black breadcrumb line) with everything below the fold coming from other layouts. What is the easiest way to do this?

Hello, thanks for the interest in our template.
1) You can change the grid system, which is current set to 5 columns (up to 12), changing that the image will be larger and you can also add more thumbs.
2) The featured products area uses the carousel, which is the by default to 5 products, you can change that and have different images sizes, but the width of the images will be the same for all, it will use the aspect ratio of the images.
3) Yes, you can generate a new skin file and change the main colors.

5) It depends on which demos/features you are going to use, some may have a conflict (but it’s easy to solve).

Thank you for such a quick reply. I actually tried a few things already and I can see how it all works, and it is definitely workable for me. I simply used the browser’s inspector and changed settings, titles and sizes within the inspector so I could see the results. And everything looked great. I may still have a couple questions as we progress, and if I do, I will follow up here. Right now I am working locally with the Porto theme originally purchased for a different project, so I am about to pop in and make another purchase (with more to follow!), so I can build this site and prep for launch within the next 45 days or so.
I just want to say a couple of things, and everyone shopping the many themes available here and on other sites should listen up. And before I say this, let me say that I am difficult to please and don’t throw around testimonials and praise so easily.
Porto is probably the most thorough and complete theme available anywhere. It comes power packed with features, options, demos, skins and samples that actually WORK – and they are all amazingly easy to work with. All of the power is right at your fingertips with this theme, and I find that although I’ve been developing solutions for nearly 30 years now, there is often very little tweaking and/or modification needed to arrive at the final look and feel you want. Everything you can ask for is at your disposal with Porto. I’m also noticing that anything I need to do and/or change can be done without resulting in bugs or hiccups. It’s refreshing to say the least. I have used other themes to try to do what I described in my questions above. And when an image’s dimensions didn’t exactly match what was originally laid out in the demo, all of the thumbs, large images and column settings got thrown off. Not here! I loaded up the images on the product page and intentionally inserted images of varying dimensions. Nothing broke, nothing moved and everything worked as it should. Reminds me of how we code and develop sites: We cover all possibilities so there are no surprises. And that’s what I am finding to be the case with Porto.
I have always liked this theme, and the icing on the cake was your amazingly fast reply. It blew me away because when I wrote my questions, I thought I was probably asking too much here in the comments section. Within no time, I had all my answers from you. Thank you so much. I can’t say enough about your quality and the thoroughness of the theme. Your commitment to your product speaks for itself. When we hire anyone, we look for people like you guys; professionals who leave no loose ends and no shortcomings. I will be using Porto for as many projects as I can moving forward. And no, I don’t know Jonas and I have never even submitted a support question of any kind until now. So my sentiments are completely unsolicited. Thank you Jonas!

Regarding admin page, you are refering to Porto Admin, right ? Porto Admin is other HTML template, it’s not fully functional, the theme comes with HTML/CSS/JS files that allows you to integrate with your own system and create your own solution, with server-side scripting languages such as PHP, Ruby on Rails, dotNet, etc… (That integration is responsibility of the buyer). This is a pre-purchase question. Is there a way to have the Image Frame “White Title and Type” to display the title and type in the center without any boxes around it? We want to keep the response, dark picture, words stay displayed, on rollover. Thanks in advance! We love this template and have purchased it for several other sites. I’ve been pulling my hair out with this one. I’m using a basic contact form that passes on to my own mail script that processes the email. The email is being sent and my script is returning a valid JSON success, however I’m getting the error “Error! There was an error sending your message”
I’ve done a serious amount of debugging and it all seems to be fine, I read in these comments that this has happened before but the problem had been fixed. I’m using the latest code from Okler and just cant seem to find any problem, can you see anything up with this?

Make sure you don’t have any error in the console log, If you’re receiving blank e-mails and when you submit the forms you just get a page with `{response“}` , the problem is that the JS file is missing for the form, you need to include the file:

I’m including the script, its sending the mail just fine and I’m getting the required JSON response, however, the “Error! There was an error sending your message” still shows instead of the green success message. I saw something similar happened in your support forum but was marked as private so I couldn’t see it..

Thank you so much for your help..! The modified js you sent got me thinking, so I tried something else and I found the cause. I’ll list it here to help others who are using either ASP or .NET in their applications and are having the same problem.
Issue: Contact form showing an error even after successful submission and a ‘success’ JSON response. No errors shown in console.
Cause: Content type not being sent back from the server in the correct ‘JSON’ format, its coming back as text so isnt picked up at all by the script. When creating the JSON response you need to declare the ContentType like this:
<% Response.ContentType = “application/json” Response.Write(“{””response””:”“success”“}”) %>
This simple omission caused me days of heartache!
