Another question for you… When I use an apostrophe on one of the headings in Mainpage Section B, it shows up on the front page with a backslash before the apostrophe, however, there is no backslash inserted. Can you tell me how to get rid of this?

Hi Mondre, please ignore my question above. It was a plugin causing the issue. I do have another question for you however! I’m not sure if I simply haven’t switched my brain on, but…

When I click on the blog link from the home page, it shows excerpts from the various blog posts. However, it’s not showing the image above each post (as shown in the live demo version of the theme). I’ve uploaded the main pic, and also added in the image address into the Image URL box and selected Big Image, but still it doesn’t work.

I’m guessing I’m missing something simple. If you could let me know what it is as soon as you can I’d greatly appreciate it!

Hi, I can’t seem to get my echoes theme to play nice with the WP e-commerce plugin. Whenever I activate the plugin I lose the home page image slider, and dropdown items from the menu. Any help would be appreciated.

Fab Theme – almost done setting it up but having one issue

When going here http://www.cherrytreephotography.co.uk/blog/category/family/ to get to a list of blog entries of category “family” I’d like it to display an image in the small blog description…..

Ive added the URL of the image to the “image URL ” section and “post head style” is either default or BIG IMAGE (it makes no difference)

The image is just not displayed in the blog summary screen,,,,....

Any idea why that might be ???

Hi Mondre,

There seems to be an issue with widgets not showing up in the footer, despite being saved. Once you go out and back into the widgets WP panel, the placed widgets have completely disappeared.

And another question…

I have footer 4 pulling text from my “About” page. However, I prefer that only the first sentence appear in the footer, not the rest of the paragraph. How can I shorten the amount of text appearing in the footer?

Actually I figured it out. I edited the kwicks.css file and changed two lines defining top:50, which places the captions at the top, to top:30 which puts them near the bottom.

Add me to the list of folk who wishes there was a search on this forum.

Thanks again for the help previously. The kwicks slider displays it’s text and hovered text in the top fourth of the element. Is there a way to configure it so that the highlighted text is in a different place, specifically in the lower fourth of the element or screen?

On the Contact Page form, I’d like to add a place for the person’s phone number. Can you explain how I can do that? (Consider me a very inexperienced user please!)

I see the template-contact.php and can copy the text from the “contactName” section and adjust to “contactPhone”. However, I don’t see where I can define “contactPhone.” I assume there is another file I need to adjust?

Does anyone know how to remove the directional arrows from the home page slideshow?

Found the problem and fixed it. Took forever for me to find it.

I needed to enable a default category in the Theme Settings and then add that category to the main menu under Menus.

I’m sure I have an incorrect setup.

Under “settings/reading”, my “front page displays”...”latest posts” is the default. If I create and name a home page in the menu, and change “settings/reading” to a static page, my featured categories and main sections disappear.

How can I make this right?

I posted a few questions a month ago, and have sent two emails without a response. Just hoping you could help me with a few queries I have:

1. Portfolio Pages – I have chosen the ‘slide with thumbnails’ option for displaying my artworks. When images are uploaded, there is an option to add caption. In my case I have been writing the media and date the painting was produced. How can I have this caption display under the title of each painting, without having to click on the image?

2. Blog Page – I have added a blog page to show works in progress. How do I link the ‘blog’ posts to the blog page. At the moment when i set the page template to ‘default’ the blog categories are listed in the sidebar and the main body is empty. I have been running this page in portfolio setting as I can not get the blog template to work.

I have five categories in total. Four of them are for my gallery pages only (lifestyle and people, landscape, abstract, Flora & Fauna). I do not want any of these posts listed on my blog page. The posts listed under the ‘recent work’ category are the only ones required. I have uploaded a test post under the ‘recent work’ category.
