Hello.Pre-sale question: As I have read in previous comments you can help so I can let my users to have both dark and light versions so they can choose. Also I would like to know if I can change the icons (read, unread , etc ) with custom icons.Best Regards . Elias

Theme Base Colour: Choose a light or dark base colour. Is there a way to choose a different set, e.g. light gray? some stuff is hard to see in the light version but dark definitely is too dark for me.

Hi again :)

If you can ping us a message through the “Support” tab above with what you’d like to change, we can point you in the right direction :)

Great theme, installed like a charm. The only thing I wonder is it looks the same on all 3 browsers I use under w10 but slightly different on 3 same browsers I use under OSX. The header background moves up under OSX. Any clue why and is there a fix?

Ah, I think what you’re seeing is normal when the setting to stretch the header background image is enabled.

Basically with this option is enabled, the header background will scale automatically and adjust its position to match whatever fits best.

For example: If you drag your browser window smaller and then larger on any of your devices, you’ll notice the background moves and scales accordingly.

The reason it appears in slightly different positions when looking on your lenovo / mac is because these devices have different resolultions, so the overall screen real estate the banner needs to fit in are different, and therefore it moves / scales accordingly.

It’s almost certain that everyone seeing your header background will see it in a fractionally different position to how you see it, as they’ll each be using unique devices with different resolultions.

You can avoid this by disabling the setting to stretch the header to fill the space, but then you’d need to upload a high resolution background image to ensure that you won’t see the edges of it on huge monitors (eg: 32” curved monitors etc).

I hope this explains it sufficiently :)

great explanation, thanx. what exactly would be a ” high resolution background image”. Any pointers welcome. I use GIMP and I think I can create any resolution I want for that image.

You’re welcome :)

I reckon as a first step try ~2000px width and whatever height you need (keep in mind that Milk’s header height can’t be set, it’s fluid based on how tall the logo / sitename / description are). Then tweak or adjust according to feedback from your members.

For what it’s worth though responsive background images are very popular these days, I think people generally accept that how they see a site will be a bit differen to how someone else will see it :)

support SEO optimization? members can be monitored?

Hello :)

Not by default, but the Milk theme supports all phpBB extensions – so if there’s an extension that achieves this, it will work with Milk :)

Hello, I’m researching in building a forum community and honestly, I am completely HTML illiterate. How difficult will it be for someone like me to customize this to fit my needs? I’m an author and I would like to not have to not spend too much time relearning something complicated such as web design. I would like to be able to have unlimited admins/moderators so that other authors can also help the community. Also for us to be able to advertise our books with affiliate links and even sell advertising space to other authors. Sorry for the ramble and thank you for your time!!

Hello!

Thanks for your question and interest in the Milk Theme :)

So, the Milk Theme itself is a front-end visual style for the phpBB forum software. The addition of Administrators / Moderators etc is something that is handled by the software, whilst Milk makes everything look pretty.

In terms of advertisements, the Milk theme supports the official phpBB advertisement management extension: https://www.phpbb.com/customise/db/extension/ads/ – this allows you to add Ads through a control panel through copy/pasting ad code.

You can also add your own ads to the sidebar through Milk’s control panel, but you’d need to wrap them with some basic code to ensure there’s adequate spacing from the elements above or below. We provide this sample code in the documentation, so shouldn’t be too difficult :)

Let me know if you have any other questions!

In Profil user can chose default style. Right now i have only one Milk2, can i give more options? Like Version 1 Version 2 in different colours?

Yes, it’s possible to run two Milk installations with different colour schemes. Contact us through the support tab for instructions :)

Hello! Sorry for bothering! This is a pre-sale question. I am new at PhpBB. To change ADS in the sidebar, logo and other parameters, do I have to edit files or It’s all in the admin panel?

Hello!

Thanks for your question :)

Yep, sidebar, logo and other settings are controlled through our control panel. Basic coding knowledge is needed to add content to the sidebar (through the control panel), but we provide example code in the documentation file that you’ll find helpful

Additionally you’re welcome to contact us after purchase and we can help you with any basic configuration you might be struggling with :)

Thank you. I Just Purchased It and I am very happy With It. :-)

Yay! I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Best of luck with your forum! :)

I am trying to run a script with this theme although i think it is just poor info from the script writer. But has anyone else run shortcode scripts before because i cant for the life of me tell whet to put the codes.

The following two codes have me baffled as to where to put them. I have put the main code under the <head> in overall header.

Codes requiring placement <?php require_once ’/pcw/shortcode.php’; ?>

And <?php pcw_shortcode([‘type’ => ‘spark’, ‘symbol’ => ‘BTC~USD’, ‘template’ => ‘line’, ‘color’ => ‘blue’]); ?>

All the files have been uploaded. You can see the instalation guide here. http://coinsmartau.com/documentation/index.php

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Heh, these are the perks of working with a software that was mostly built 10 years ago :)

Quick question. Raster/vector BG to get rid of the Grey, As i would lie white. They grey on the side of the board index

That’s colours.css , line 6 :)

Hello, why 2 control panel H2O and Flight Deck?

And please add a option for add a pages, menu… :)

Hello :)

H2O is the name of our new style, that will be available for sale in 2-3 days.

In the last Milk update we accidentally included an early build of H2O’s control panel. This has since been removed from the download :)

Hey, PlanetStyles! Will this Milk theme will work for phpbb 3.2.0 version? P.S. And where is the new Milk style? I am waiting for a month already :)...

Hello!

Yep the theme will work on phpBB 3.2.0, 3.2.1 and 3.2.2 :)

Our new style has been submitted for approval, we expect it to be live in the next 3-4 days. Note it’s very different to the Milk Theme and intended for a different audience, so you might be surprised :)

Hi ! I have some problem with notifications, in user setting wall all notifications are disable and we can’t enable it. Why? So we don”t received any notifications ! Please help me.

Indeed, sounds like a problem with your phpBB installation somewhere. You’d be best off asking over at phpBB.com for help regarding this :)

Problem resolved with last update of PHPBB 3.2.2 Thank you !

Awesome! Thanks for letting us know :)

Whats the recommended image size for grid forum lay out ? since theres no support for break point images, the images gets zoomed and stretched depending on what breakpoint im viewing.

Hello :)

There’s no recommended size, as indeed the width/height of the image container changes for every device. So we recommend using high resolution landscape images, and Milk will automatically scale them to size

I am i having a problem! When i try to log in the forum its not logging me in! When i try to reset the pass its not receding! When someone tries to create a new account its giving an error on captcha that its wrong every-time!!

The log in access was working perfectly but the last 1 and a half month i cant access to the forum :(

What is the PROBLEM?

Hi Alex,

Sorry to hear about this :(

Login issues are usually caused by incorrect or broken cookie settings, so sounds like this is a problem caused somewhere in your phpBB installation as opposed to the Milk Theme.

Can I ask if you’ve asked on phpBB.com regarding this?

Please i contacted you so you can help me!! Please i need you to tell me what i must do!

I’m sorry, but we can only provide help with the Milk Theme :(

Hi, There is a error when open the frontend page, as below: styles/Milk_v2/theme/colour-presets/.css?assets_version=5 net::ERR_ABORTED

Can you help me.

is only in english? Can i use official phpBB my coutry lenguage for translate? Can i use overall_header.html for add a script?

Best Regards.

Hi! :)

Thanks for your question.

The Milk Theme uses language variables, so if you have a language pack installed on your forum the text will automatically convert to match your language :)

Hi! i am working on a forum but have never set one up. I have a domain and I am about to buy your template but I do not know what to do after that. Please help!

Hi there!

Awesome :) . In addition to a domain name and the Milk Theme, you’ll need a shared web hosting account, such as the Hatchling plan from HostGator. If you already have a host, that’s awesome too.

We can install phpBB and the Milk Theme for $40, just ping us a message through the “Support” tab above after purchase if you’d like us to do this for you. Otherwise, there are a ton of phpBB installation videos on YouTube that could help you :)

A common theme I’m reading on these comments is also a problem I am having as well:

- The header background image is not showing up on mobile format.

You can see my progress here: www.vanlifeguru.com

Based on comments above, it appears you are only responding to this issue via the support messaging, however I have sent multiple requests via support without a response?

Thanks for the great theme, just need a small helpful push and I’ll be on my way :)

Great to know the background worked :)

Thanks for the heads up on the clipping issue, we’ve heard the same from other customers, but only 3-4 out of 1,500+ purchases so it sounds like something fairly isolated.

It sounds like something that would be fairly hard for us to diagnose, a better solution might involve a JS based fallback that dynamically sets and forces the parent’s container height. But it’s not the most elegant solution and would need testing, so it’s not something we could throw together quickly.

Rest assured though it’s now on our radar and something we’d like to resolve asap :)

I actually just fixed the issue!

Turns out if you set the logo height, but keep logo width field blank, it will maintain the logo aspect ratio dynamic/responsive. And as an added perk, adjusting the logo height also adjusts the header height, allowing you to really dial in the perfect header size for various devices.

And best of all, the clipping issue gone…. best of all worlds IMO. Maybe something to consider in a future update… (removing the option of logo width) as I am not sure why anyone would want a skewed logo ratio that changes dependent on screen size. Glad the well-built backend had the fix just waiting to be discovered… :)

That’s awesome to hear and really helpful to know! We’ll probably implement your findings :)

Thanks for letting us know :)

If I want to add a header image or logo, then these are not responsive. How do I get the header image also on mobile view centered?

Hi there!

Thanks for your support of the Milk Theme

We aren’t aware of any issues with the responsive layout. Could you message us through the “Support” tab above with a live example of this (or ACP login details) so we can see the problem in action?

Thanks :)

Hello!,

I am following up the guide and uploaded the “planetstyles” folder to: /public_html/phpbb/ext/planetstyles/flightdeck then goes to ACP -> Customise tab but still do not see nothing new. I see only default VigLink in ‘Enabled Extensions’. I’ve stuck on this simple point. Please advise. Thanks

Hi!

Thanks for your support of the Milk Theme :)

Would you be able to email us a link to your forum using the “Support” tab above (or reply with it here) so I can check the file paths?

A side-note on VigLink, it adds inline Ads to your forum and sends the money to phpBB for their profit, so may be worth considering disabling.

Cheers!

when 3.2.2 is out, how would i download?

Our 3.2.2 update has been approved, you can download it straight from your downloads page after purchase :)
