Thanks for not mentioning that we have to subscribe to CC in order to use the font Pragmatica in your demo.
or buy it.
Hello.
Adobe have recently rebranded Typekit into Adobe Fonts. There’s special disclaimer on our item’s page about Typekit fonts (please see this screenshot: https://cloud.codesupply.co/20181103173142jl0ce.png )
There used to be a Typekit plan for $49 / year. We contacted Adobe about this matter, and they said, that the Typekit standalone plan has been deprecated.
Adobe provided the following info: “It (Creative Cloud subscription) doesn’t cost much more. The most affordable Creative Cloud subscription is an InCopy subscription for $4.99 a month. This isn’t much more than the Portfolio Plan.”
Anyway, you may also use a free substitute. The closest free alternative for Pragmatica is Montserrat, which is available off Google Fonts free of charge.

Hello. Thanks for the feature suggestions. We’ll consider adding them, if more users request them. Let me know, if you have other questions.
Do you can help me to add buddypress menu on header menu if i purchase this theme?
Hello. It’s fairly easy to add BuddyPress links to WordPress menu. Here’s the article: https://codex.buddypress.org/getting-started/buddypress-links-in-wordpress-menus/ Of course, if you have any problems, our support agents will help you with it. Let me know, if there’s anything else you need.
Spotlight – Feature-Packed News & Magazine WordPress Theme exchange with the sngine script i have Sngine – The Ultimate PHP Social Network Platform
Hello. I’m afraid, we don’t provide any exchanges. Let me know, if there’s anything else you would like to know. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
Hi, i need am menu like themeforest menu… it has the main menu… Web Themes & Templates – Code – Video – Audio – Graphics – Photos – 3D Files
and Web Themes & Templates has a submenu All items – Wordpress – Simple Site Builder etc
Can i do that with your theme? There is a another way to do this. There is no theme or plugin can do that and i think its really handy for many categories.
Thanks
Hello. I’m afraid, this type of menu is currently not a part of Spotlight. Let me know, if you have other questions. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
Halo,
I think you need to update for mobile version. Because only “Published on” displayed on the post. There is no details about the author etc.
Or maybe there any way can i do to make a change?
But this theme is great and also fast
Thank you
Hello,
Many thanks for your suggestion. We’ve just added it to our roadmap and it’ll be added in one of the next version updates. Meanwhile, our support staff can help you with it via our ticket system at https://codesupply.co/support/
Thanks a lot for your purchase and your kind review!
Hi, this is Kerem from WPSelected. Hope you’re well!
We prepared a Winner Kit for the authors whose theme has been presented on wpselected.com. Inside the package; you’ll find a couple of banners for your item page, a WPS badge for your demo site and a few versions of our logo to use anywhere you wish.
Since you’re one of our previous winners, we want to send this kit to you too. You don’t have to link them to our site. Just do whatever you want! But please use them for your selected themes only.
To get your WPS winner kit, please send an e-mail us via the contact form on our profile page. And with your permission, we’d like to add your e-mail to our “Author Newsletter” subscribers list.
Hope to hear from you soon!
Thanks for featuring us on your website.
Hi,
I liked the theme.. I have a query: The “https://spotlightthe.me/crush/” website performance is best on gtmatrix, but when checking on Google Lighthouse, it’s average. Have you checked ?
Thanks
Hello. We check our themes in Google PageSpeed Insights. The Crush Demo score is 99 for mobile and 95 for desktops, which is a very rare thing on ThemeForest
Let me know, if you have other questions. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
Hi, Thanks for the reply, but i was talking about Google Lighthouse (part of Chrome Developer Tools for auditing the quality (performance, accessibility, and more) of web pages), not PageSpeed. COuld u pls check once the Performance, Progressive Web App, etc. Thanks
We don’t use Lighthouse as one of the performance metrics. Though, I’ve just checked with it, and the Performance score is 100/100. Other warning for Accessibility, Web Apps are subjective, as they come from Facebook widgets, jQuery (we can’t use a different jQuery version), issues related to screen readers, etc. Let me know, if you have other questions.
Hi, Thanks for the response. I have a few more questions before I buy this theme. Could you please check my queries here ?

Hi! Really nice theme design. It looks really great. But as we are looking to redesign out local news sites we are eager to know what is under the hood
.
1. What is the option to filter the posts – Featured Posts Widget seems to be the case, but can we use it multiple times on one page layout for different categories feeds? What about custom taxonomies – is it possible to to use them to filter the content also?
2. How invasive is the Builder you use regarding the fluffy additions – re: shortcode madness http://justintadlock.com/archives/2011/05/02/dealing-with-shortcode-madness? If we decide to change the theme in a future will we be able to do it without being locked-in your theme and being left with shortcodes that are no longer parsed? We do not want to implement any shortcodes etc. into the content itself (as there are over 10K posts already we need to be able to address styling globally not messing with the existing content).
3. What about the Guttenberg – does this theme supports it? If no – what is the plan for it (ETAs please)?
4. How facebook comments are incorporated – are the comments itself being imported to WP database as native comments?
5. What solutions are used for images – as to responsiveness and speed? Any lazy load effects?
6. Ads – are there options to use different widget areas for pages and posts? Are there options to include banners in the content (top middle bottom of the article) or before/after the post?
7. What framework is used here for building blocks? Bootstrap foundation? Others?
8. Do you plan to extend some layouts and styling for posts and pages possible display variety? Author posts list and widget maybe? What about the sidebar – any option for flow? Do you take into consideration some small ideas from publishers about improving the theme?
9. Do you use some font for icons or are those custom ones?
How long are you going to develop it?
Thanks, Lukas
Hello
Please see my comments below:
1. As Spotlight is designed to be both fast and user-friendly, there’s no page builder and there’s currently one featured section on the homepage. We’ll consider integrating multiple featured sections as Gutenberg blocks, as soon as it’s merged into core.
2. Unlike many other theme authors (who have a “feature core plugin” bundled with the theme, that doesn’t work anywhere else) we don’t lock-in our customers with our theme. For the purpose we developed Powerkit, a plugin hosted on WordPress.org. You may use it with any theme.
3. Spotlight currently supports Gutenberg. We’ll also be extending Gutenberg features, as soon as it’s merged into the WordPress core in version 5.
4. Facebook comments are stored on the Facebook side. See their documentation for more details: https://developers.facebook.com/docs/plugins/comments/
5. All images are retina ready (adaptive image sizes). We also have lazy load and Low Quality Image Placeholders.
6. Yes, you may use different ads on posts and pages. Ads can be placed in different locations with our Additional Content feature. See the docs for details: https://codesupply.co/documentation/spotlight/site-configuration/additional-content/
7. Theme styles are custom-built on top of Bootstrap mixins, however it’s not included in the styles in order to avoid large CSS files and reduce loading times. Moreover, you won’t face any conflicts with plugins that enqueue Bootstrap scripts / styles.
8. We constantly improve our themes based on our buyers’ feedback. If a lot of users request a feature, or if it’s worth adding it, we’ll make sure to add it to our roadmap and include with a theme update.
9. These are custom icon font in order to improve speed loading times too.
We’ve been updating all of our themes for a few years adding new features and fixing bugs and none of them is abandoned.
That was a long list of questions, and I hope I didn’t miss anything
It’s nice to see a 8+ year buyer with so many purchases interested in our themes.
Let me know, if you have other questions. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
Thanks for the answers. Is it possible to jumpstart with the theme demo on the live WP install – site with few years of history? Or are there any restrictions about using the theme with a living site?
Yes. Unlike many other themes, theme demos and demo content in Spotlight are different things. Theme demos are “presets”, they don’t require any dummy content, so it won’t mess up your existing content. You way switch between demos easily too. We have recently had a purchaser with an existing website with thousands of posts and 5 million of users monthly successfully migrate to Spotlight. And of course, our support agents will help you with any issues you may have. Let me know, if you have other questions.
Thanks! After purchasing and playing with the theme I see it lacks some customization features and I see that in other themes – e.g. Authentic – you have quite an array of them. So, do you plan to extend the Spotlight theme to incorporate such solutions? Some urgent needs: 1. Featured Posts Widget with more customization options – it is crucial to put multiple widgets in one layout with “Exclude featured posts from the main archive”. Moreover posts displayed sneed to be filtered by category, tag, and most important custom type taxonomies 2. Typography fine-tune options with individual settings for each 3. Element’s colour options 4. Ads options – more spots (header (next to Site Logo), inside posts top, after x paragraphs, bottom) 5. Headings options
More as a new feature: Sidebar location opened via menu located icon – opens right sidebar (top/bottom/ left etc) slot with an additional area for custom widgets (including html)/menus/content to access other features of the site; similar to current “hamburger” menu but for extra usage
Regards, Lukas
Hello.
1) You may put multiple Featured Posts Widget widgets in your sidebar. I’m afraid, custom taxonomies are considered item customisation and we don’t support them out of the box. 2) We’re now trying to simplify the on-boarding and customisation process and therefore reducing the number of options to make it easier for most of the customers. 3) Same here. 4) There’re numerous ads spot in the Additional Content fields. 5) There’re a few typography controls, including Headings.
The extra feature is very specific. Of course, we’ll add it in one of the future theme updates, if more users request it.
Should you have any other theme specific issues, feel free to reach out to us via our ticket system at https://codesupply.co/support/
Thanks a lot for your purchase!
Thanks. Don’t really get this: “We’re now trying to simplify the on-boarding and customisation process and therefore reducing the number of options to make it easier for most of the customers.” What does it mean exactly? That you will introduce more & more features in the near future or that you are not going to “to make it easier for most of the customers.”? This is crucial for the future usage of the theme, as there was no real preview of the Theme Customizer features before purchase…
As to Typography: In Headings there is no “Font Size” option The Same in Navigation Most of them has no “Color” options on most type settings. Most importantly: how to set line-height? When trying to set good typography with Google fonts (not Typekit) it is quite important to able to play with all the basic typo settings.
Is is possible to set if there is “Lead” displayed on the single post view? We have first paragraph as the lead – repeated, as many themes used the lead for the page layouts, and no in the single view template.
In the page layouts for the homepage and category views – how to insert widgets in the layout before or after the loop?
Many more questions arise, but I think the answer to the main question here is crucial…
Regards, Lukas
Hello. These are quite specific requests and most of the users don’t actually tweak things like line-height. Please open a ticket at https://codesupply.co/support and our support agents with all the tweaks and configuration you would like to achieve.

Presales Question: Good day, would love to find out if this is Visual composer Compatible
Hello. Spotlight is a lightweight and fast performing theme, therefore we don’t use any page builders. You may of course use any of them to extend the available features. Let me know if you have other questions.
How do i increase the length of the excerpt in the featured posts section?
Also, How do i change the size for the post heading?

Hi guys, i really love your themes, i think they are as it should be, fast and rich in characteristics
I have a couple questions pls…
1. is it possible with your help to have menu like themeforests menu in case someone has many categories. Is it possible? See themeforest for example
Menu: -Web Themes & Templates All Items WordPress Simple Site Builder HTML Marketing CMS eCommerce Muse UI Design Plugins
if no can you implement it? There is no one else theme with this capability. Is really handy if you have many categories
2. Can i do with Expertly what i can do with Spotlight and vice versa? because i dont’t know what to choose What their main differences?
3. Where i can see the modules?
4. floating video on page scroll? Can you implement it?
5. continue reading button?
Thanks!
Hello.
Thank you for your kind words
1) I’m afraid, this type of menu is very specific, and there aren’t many users who would need it to make it into a theme feature
2) There’re a lot of differences between these two themes. The main difference is design though. Simply compare the demos and choose the one you like more.
3) There’s a screenshot of Powerkit modules on the plugin’s page: https://wordpress.org/plugins/powerkit/
4) I’m not sure, what floating video is. Could you provide an example please?
5) There’re already View Post buttons on the full post archive type. See the demo here: https://spotlightthe.me/supercharged/
Let me know, if you have other questions. Looking forward to seeing you among our customers
Hi Guys,
Great looking theme and i have a pre-sale question. In single post, is it possible, without touching the code, to move the entry sidebar below the content and change the content width to column width? Thank you.
Hello. I’m afraid, this is not available through options. Our support staff however will help you with it by providing a custom CSS snippet. Let me know, if you have other questions. Thank you for your interest in Spotlight and looking forward to seeing you among our customers.
Why does the menu not drop down? when we hover, nothing happens

Mobile view. Currently the mobile version is single columned (zoomed in) can i adjust it to be like what you have in your demo image (more zoomed out/panned out) or multi columned, i want my users to be able to see more posts at a time.
Hello. Posts appear in one column in mobile view. I’m afraid, different screenshots were used for the demo images, and there’s no easy way to change the behaviour. Posts will appear in multiple columns on tablets and desktops. Let me know, if you have other questions.
