How can I set up the blog page so it shows a preview of a post rather than the full post?

when you write your post in text editor you can see some buttons at the top of the editor,Insert More Tag is the button that you need to show a preview of your post.
write the first part you want to show then click on Insert More Tag button and write rest of your content.
Trying to insert a gallery with shortcode. The thumbnails show up on page but when I click the thumbnail I get a popup stated unable to show the image, make sure the path is correct and image exists. Can anyone help me with this?

I would like for my image description to show on the bottom of the picture when I am viewing the image after clicking the thumbnail. Right now the image title is there. How do I go about switching it to display the description instead of the title?

Thanks. I see. The problem is when you hover over the thumbnail image it shows the tile tag, which looks terrible. Do you happen to know the file that the call for the title tag resides in? Once I can pinpoint where the call is made I can change the code to my liking.

Hi there PixFlow, I have asked this before, but can’t manage to make it work as im not good with PHP. How can i link the picture from the portfolio masonry page directly to the portfolio single page? I mean, instead of the lightbox with the full picture.
I managed to remove the lightbox effect, but I don`t know where to transform it into the link. I know i should edit “template-portfolio.php”, but how?

The footer twitter widget seems to have stopped working. When will this be fixed?
Hello, sometimes Twitter might black list your IP address due to twitter widget frequent requests. All you have to do is to email twitter and ask theme to white list you or wait for a few days to see the widget is working again.
I do not think that is the case. I just checked your demo site and your footer twitter widget is doing the same thing. Along with all the other pages that I have seen that are using the BP twitter widget.
My client needs twitter widget to be working. I am afraid I do not have a few days to wait. Is there a code I can add to the widget-twitter.php or the twitter_timeline.php pages to fix this error?
You can delete the “twitter_cache” folder inside “cache” folder and see if it’s working. Otherwise since you need it to work soon i would suggest you to use another twitter widget instead.
Do you plan on doing another twitter widget for this theme due to the new changes that twitter has done?
Ok I deleted the twitter_cache and it is still not working…

Can I add a slider image that’s also a link? I would like people to click on the entire slider picture and be transported to a new page instead of having to click the small link Link Button.
That needs customization in slider and theme scripts, unfortunately we can’t do that for you at the moment, but I can guide you through that.

Well, that requires heavy customization in “single-team.php” and back-end code, you need to make an input to upload an image for each person on team post type, and load it on line 56. Hello Vega, the PSD files are seperated from theme files and they don’t effect each other, if you want to change the theme appearance, you should edit it’s CSS files.

On the home page, where the Portfolio boxes are, I wanted to know if I could have the porfolio titles etc a different colour when it has the mouse over? because when the dark grey bit drops down it is then hard to read what is actually said.
Also, just incase that still looks weird, how would I remove the titles when mouse over?

To change the description color on hover, go to line 3407 of “style.css” and change the color to any color you like. To remove the item meta on hover you should change it’s “display” attribute to “none” on hover event.

hi, im trying to change the colour of the menu text, main headers, footer text, they are all white and im using the dark/yellow skin, i have managed to change most things but these last bits, and footer webform input fields from grey to black. which css file are these options in or what line number, very grateful for advice thanks on a great theme

If I got it right, you want to change the footer input box text color, to do that you have to go to line 2555 of “style.css” in “content > themes > blackpearl”.

Hi there, Thanks so much for the great theme. We’ve been using it on our site for a while, but are moving to a different domain and reinstalling over there.
I’m having an issue with the porfolio “posts” themselves. I’ve created a page called Press. It has the portfolio template set as its page type. I then created posts within the Portfolios tab, set the featured image, etc. The URLS are http://www.mulxiply.com/portfolios/[theportfolioname], but when I click them, I get a 404, in the default template (blog) type.
The images appear on the Press page, as you can see here: http://www.mulxiply.com/press/But I cannot click through them to the actual portfolio page.

It’s probably because of permalinks, go to setting > permalinks and set it to “default” and save changes, then put it back to your current option and save changes again. Hope it helps.

It’s not impossible, but it requires heavy customization which is not possible at the moment, still I would be happy to guide you through that. For the clue, you should start with “template-home.php”.
