What are the recommended max dimensions for image uploads? I noticed that when creating posts, if the Image URL links to an image whose dimensions are around 3000×2000, the image doesn’t show up in the post, nor do the images show up on Portfolio Pages when Slides with Buttons and Slides with Thumbnails are used.

Huge image may not be process as there is a limit in the size of the images thats processed by the GD library. Its set by the server to reduce load on the cpu and may vary, so make them smaller for webuse.

Nice theme. Great work.
One question: how can I replace the font used in the Cufon replacement?
What I mean is swap Museo (as used in the theme), with another font via Cufon. The fontconfig.js file has no mention of museo.
I also can’t see anything in header.php either.
Any guidance?
if i want to translate some words like: “This entry wa posted by … on” and dates, where i need to go and edit? and… how can i obtain last version of the theme? simply download again from my account?

You can edit the single.php file to edit those which you’ve mentioned. Other english words will be found in the files in includes folder – post-summary.php
I’d provided a change log with the theme update , you can use the updated version or overwrite files.
Don’t overwrite style.css file if you’ve made changes – you can copy paste the class which i’ve included and mentioned in the chagelog.txt file.
The update would give you WP 3 .0 menu system and background changing options.

i want to use the case studies section’s carousel to give access to each individual case study.. how do i get these images in the carousel to link to another page?
i have tried putting page link in the galllery settings but does not work..
is there also a way of getting a caption to appear with these small images so people know whcih case study they are clicking.. i can use thumbnails iff thats easier?

Hi Stepehen,
The image carousel is generated from image attachments in the post so they won’t be having having external links to it.
I’d recomend using the Portfolio option as a showcase to Case Studies which can have individual posts where you can insert a Button via shortcode to have external links.

I would like the images on Kwicks does not unfoold on scroll but on click.
I suppose that’s on kwick-custom.js and then i have to change fade.to() functions but what should i put?

Thanks so far for the support.
So, let’s say I have a “post.”
In that post, I put the link to a “Big Image” and I also choose to upload 20 more images to that same post, and I display them using the [carousel] shortcode.
Now I have a post with a Big Image at the top (what I want) and a Carousel of images somewhere in the body of the post (also what I want)
Now, the only image that seems to show up at the “portfolio” level is the image I referenced in the “Big Image” field. (not what I want)
How do I get EVERY IMAGE in that particular post to show up at the page/portfolio level? If I am posting about a specific event, it wouldn’t make sense to have to make 20 posts just to get each image its own spot in the portfolio…it seems like the portfolio of 20 images would need to be 20 posts, each with a “Big Image”, but in my case, all the images belong to the same event, and it would be hard to create 20 posts, all talking about the same thing….could you please help? This is the only thing I haven’t really figured out yet and I’m hoping I’m missing something in order to create portfolios from a number of images that are part of a “Gallery” at the post level.

Can you help? I’m trying to replace certain classes in the fontconfig.js with another cufon font: Clarendon FS.font.js which was made fine via the generator I’m but having trouble replacing the existing Museo font to call the new font.
Any help would be great

If you have the latest update
edit functions.php file change line 25 which states the filename for Museo font.
Since you’re editing the functions.php ; do make a backup of the file.
Another way is to overwrite your font with the Museo font in the js folder.
If you’re using a previous version of echoes the same can be found in the header.php file.

I’m having some issues setting up the drop-down navigation for top-level links with sub-pages.
I’ve edited the ddsmoothmenu.js to these specifications:
//Specify full URL to down and right arrow images (23 is padding-right added to top level LIs with drop downs):

And I’m still unable to make the drop-down work, as you can see here.

Echoes latest update will give you more options in WP 3 .0
The link list can be generated using wp-admin Links option from the sidebar.
It doesn’t require an additional plugin to do it.

and also form earlier wanted to remove black line at top of all pages…
and one last question… can you tell me where to remove post time and comments, search sidebar.. etc… essentially i want a post to look like a ‘full page width’ page..

One more thing: I can see that you set the date format in ”/includes/datetime.php”. Wouldn’t it be more user-friendly to just use the format as defined in the WP admin panel under “General”?
I guess many non-English speaking folks might prefer the ‘d/m/Y’ format (= 29/06/2010) to the ‘jS M Y ’ format (= 29th Jun 2010).

to be on the safe side whenever you update the theme, I wanted to create a child theme to do my modifications in. However, this doesn’t seem to work with Echoes, it messes up the whole layout once I try to run it with a child theme. Are you aware of this, and are there any plans to allow child themes to be used?

Sorry to bug again,but I am in desperate need of some help. I’m almost done with the site, but I’m having a terrible time trying to use a forum plugin. At first I thought it was the forum ( tal.ki) but now that I’m trying to use another (Mingle forum) I’m experiencing the same issues. I’m pretty sure there is a conflict with the theme.
Issues
1. I can’t create forum posts. One of the errors I receive is: Fatal error: Call to undefined function: str_ireplace() in /home5/theblac5/public_html/lovebahia/wp-content/plugins/mingle-forum/bbcode.php on line 58
2. The logo file gets pushed down under the menu options.
I’ve tried deactivating all my plugins and that isn’t the issue. This is (unfortunately) a major component to the site. Any help?

1. That error lead to the plugin you’re using. I’d check the PHP version your server is using. It could be a problem with it.
I’d request you check a solution to the error from the plugin side.
My guess is the PHP version.
2. Does your menu have lots of items which is pushing the logo off.
You can adjust the width of the menu by editing
ddsmoothmenu.css in the css folder.
Set a width to .ddsmoothmenu class

Thanks for the reply imaginem. The php5 fixed the previous error and I was able to get the forum plugin creator to set up the plugin for me.
However, the logo is still shifted down. If I turn the plugin off, it goes back to normal, so I’m sure it’s not because I have too many items on the menu bar.
In any event, I tried opening the ddsmoothmenu.css file, but I don’t see ddsmoothmenu class.
