Can you integrate buddypress with this theme?

Hello,

No, I can’t say it’s 100% compatible. It would require some modifications to make it work perfectly.

Is there an easy way to export the recipes as PDF’s so that I can bundle them into an ebook?

Hello,

There’s no built-in function for this, but you could search for plugins.

I used oDesk to get someone to compile one for me from the entries on the website :o)

That’s great :)

Hi and thank you very much for this awesome template ! I’m French and sorry for my bad english.

I would like to translate the front office (in French of course).

What is the best solution ?

If I edit the differents pages of the “parent theme”, i will lost all my translation with the future update, no ?

What is the best solution please ?

Thank you very for your reply !

Hello,

You shouldn’t translate the theme files (PHP etc.). There’s a chapter in the documentation (readme.pdf) for translating the theme.

Hello, Is there a “My recipes” page? where the user could find all his/her recipes, and modify them (and even delete them if needed)? Thanks a lot, Julie.

Hello Julie,

Main navigation > Account > Your Profile.

This page displays your social links, biography, and recipes.

Modifying/deleting recipes is not currently possible for the users.

Thanks. I’ll put them as administrator then, so that they can modify their recipes. Another question: can we change the moderation format of the recipes? for the comments for example, we can say “moderate just the first one, and then the rest is OK”. Do I need to validate all recipes one by one? Anyway, thanks for this very nice Wordpress template, and your support. My mum is very happy with this gift. Best regards.

Yes, user submitted recipes need to be reviewed one by one. I think this is the best way to do it :)

Hello, Me again. it seems that I have a problem with the Account > Account setting tab. I have the following message “Not Found. The requested URL /account was not found on this server.” I tried from another computer with another account, and same problem. It is just on my side? Do I need to do something special? Plus I can’t find how to upload my photo? Thanks a lot,

Julie.

Gravatar is used for the profile pictures: https://gravatar.com/

Thanks a lot. Quite complex for non specialists (my mum is not familiar with internet, and doesn’t sepak english !!). Any way to make it easier on a next version? in the meantime, I’ll create the Gravatar for them. Thanks again.

Gravatar is used also on the normal WordPress comments, so it’s the reason for this :)

It’s possible that I will add an option to upload a profile picture in the future.

Hello,

I’m a beginner with Wordpress, but I suceed in creating our recipes website for my mother. Thanks a lot. However, as we are French, I’m looking for the French translation of the template. I tried to use Poedit, but it seems very complex, and if you don’t buy the PRO version, it doesn’t translate everything (and it seems that I can do it manually, but there are more than 300 ligns…). Could you help me? don’t you have the file ready in French? Thanks a lot for your help,

Best regards,

Julie.

Hello Julie,

Looks like Poedit has a new interface. But I don’t think it has changed a lot, and is quite easy to use :)

There are lots of lines which appear only on WordPress dashboard, and don’t have to be translated at all, or can be translated later.

Unfortunately I don’t have a French language file for you. If someone with one reads this, please let us know :)

Thanks a lot. I have made a first draft in French (but as you said, not with all the back office, just what we see on the webpage). It surely needs to be improved by using a little bit the site, to see bad translations or mitakes. If you want the .po and .mo, let me know. Best regards.

Hello,

Very nice theme! I have one question, is there a way to have some recipes link out to other recipe blog posts (like FoodGawker does)? I’d like to display my own recipes, but also link out to blogger-friend recipes – with the image and title linking out from the homepage. Is this possible? Example or explanation of how this might be able to work?

Thank you

Awesome! It might be worth adding a URL box near the top of the recipe form as well, so users can choose to submit a URL OR recipe. I look forward to working with this theme!

Hi,

Good news! The new version is already out :)

Take a look at the demo, there are a couple of linked recipes from other websites: http://goo.gl/3dqOz5

This theme is great! I’m loving it.

Another suggestion, for the next update perhaps have the social media and other external links (all user profile external links) open in a new tab. This way when people click on an external website or social media links either on the Homepage or User Profile pages, they don’t leave the site – but rather a new tab opens where they can view that information.

I will leave a rating once I have everything configured and more time to use the theme from the front end :)

Hello! Thank you for really great theme. I love it. I would like to buy the photo with vegetables on the table (205021221-1140×500; blog page). Could you please confirm where I can find it? Thank you and regards!

Hello Paula,

Here’s the image: http://www.bigstockphoto.com/image-20502122/stock-photo-healthy-eating

Glad you like the theme! :)

Hi! Your theme is fantastic, just what I needed for my future recipe site! With the new update I translated every part of it, except for the sorting dropdown. I can see, that it translates in the back, but the modded view discards it, and shows the ‘value’ of the options, not the text in the visible ‘span’ element. I presume it’s the plugin’s “feature”, but it only works with standard characters, not with “í” or “é” for example, which don’t work in the ”?sort=” parameter. Are you planning to make a fix for it?

Hello,

This is caused by the jQuery plugin used for the dropdown. Looks like it displays the value, not the text.

I will take a better look at it, and it will be fixed in the next version. Thanks for letting me know! :)

Hi,

New version with a fix is now available :)

Thanks :)

Hi, i am interested in your theme, i think it looks cool :) I have 1 question: is there a possibility that i can add a sidebar in the theme? It is a must for ads.

Hello Michal,

There’s no sidebar on this theme, but there are built-in placements for banner ads.

Ads can be easily added in the Theme Options. Here’s a screenshot: http://goo.gl/YDBKRh

Hi thx for a quick reply. Can u please post a picture of the theme with all the ad placements on?

Take a look at the demo, I just enabled the ads: http://goo.gl/3dqOz5

Size 728×90 is just an example, you can use whatever size you want. Naturally horizontal ads look best on these placements :)

In addition you could insert ads in the recipe/post content with a plugin. Here’s an example: https://wordpress.org/plugins/insert-post-ads/

Hi!

I read one user’s question about filtering and multiple categories and would like to know if you recommend your theme for a food blog that contains lots of recipes, that need to be archived under different cathegories? Thanks,

Hello Susanna,

There’s no filtering based on multiple categories, that’s true.

However with the powerful search, and browsing through the categories, I’m sure the visitor will find the recipes he/she is looking for :)

In addition to other categories, you could use the Collections category to build a selection of recipes for Christmas etc., and blog about it with a link to the collection. Just a little idea for a food blog :)

Thanks for your fast reply! I’m sure my client would like that :)

What a great wordpress theme! Would be realy great if there would be a SEO in the theme for the recipes.

Thanks! :)

What do you mean by “SEO in the theme for the recipes”?

Is there a way to filter the recepis by course under a cuisine? Lets say I only want to see desserts while browsing american cuisine.

Hello,

No, it’s not currently possible.

Okey, is it something that you have on your todo list? Or do you know a way how I can achive this behavior?

If you have lots of recipes, it would be great to filter them on multiple categories. On smaller sites it’s not that important.

It requires a change to the design, which makes it a little challenging to do at this point.

Anyway, I really hope I can add this feature in the future. I can’t promise you anything though :)

If you have knowledge of WordPress, here’s something you could take a look at: https://wordpress.org/plugins/beautiful-taxonomy-filters/

Hello! I want to buy this theme but I dont like option “the rating of the recipe”. Is this option is obligatory? Or I can switch it off?

Hello,

The rating system can be turned off in the Theme Options :) Here’s the screenshot: http://goo.gl/YDBKRh

I bought this template two days ago. But it seems like there is a problem with import.xml . I sent a private message mentioning about the problem i am having. But I haven’t received any answers yet. It is frustrating not to use the website actively although I’ve paid for it…

Hello Jonathan,

Sometimes I have to take my weekends off. Sorry for the late answer anyway :)

I will reply to your email immediately.

Thank you for your email. The problem is solved.

Hi,

Before I purchace this theme, I’d like to know if the header can be made sticky?

Thanks

BR Jeff

Hello,

This theme doesn’t have a sticky header.

I see, but I hope it’s do-able by some custom CSS

Hello,

My language don’t change..

What I did for the language:
  1. Changing in Poedit and saved;
  2. Add nl_NL.po and nl.NL.mo to “wp-content/languages”;
  3. Change the website language;

Hope you can help me, Manuel

I will add settings in the next version to change/translate URL slugs: recipe, cuisine, collection, course etc.

It will be also possible to remove these from the URL.

Ok.. But how can I change it now in the code now? And when is the next version ?

Thanks!

Could you contact me via my profile page, so I can reply to you with the instructions.

The upcoming version should be available next week.

I am getting the following error when trying to upload to WordPress.

The package could not be installed. The theme is missing the style.css stylesheet.

Theme install failed.

Any ideas? Why is there not a CSS

I am using the GoDaddy WordPress Starter Package

Okay, I followed directions on this page that said to use Installable WordPress Theme Only. https://help.market.envato.com/hc/en-us/articles/202821510 and IT WORKED! Thanks!

Hello,

“Installable WordPress Theme Only” file is exactly the same file as theme.zip file inside the archive you downloaded first from ThemeForest :)

Best of luck with your site!
