How do you get the page to load to a specific filter

Hi Adam,

Specific filters work with the index page only, the other pages are for none Javascript support. Simply click the navigation at the top of the page the index page.

Ben

HA Ben.. I see the blog filter.. I was looking for the blog posting functionality!!.. No super big deal, was just wondering if you had something in the pipeline..

One other Item.. I was trying to switch out the TopUp light-box out with first Pretty Photo, and then with Shadowbox. Both of these actually broke, and did not work. I looked for hrs, but cannot figure out why. Are you able to take a look at that? Are you able to plug in one of these without them breaking? Do you know if there are compatibility issues?

Even TopUp is not playing nice, when I add a form to it..

Aristide

Hi Aristide,

I can’t see any reason why the other jquery popup’s wouldn’t work. Are you trying to use a different one because you can’t get top-up to have a contact form in it? Are you using AJAX to pull in the contact form?

There should be no compatibility issues as the template is HTML CSS and Javascript, nothing special. I’ve emailed you directly to see what I can do, but when it comes to changing major functionality such as the pop up scripts, it takes quite a bit of time to get them working then test them through major browsers including IE6 .

Kind regards,

Ben

Hey Ben,

Any changes of adding a blog to the design? I need to be able to blog as well. Love the design…

Hi Aristide,

There is a blog filter in the top navigation. I’m confused to what you mean if not that!

Ben

Hi, I love this layout. I want to know if the demo version is exactly the same as the template. If not, what is the difference between them? Thanks in advance. Arianna

Hi Lola, by demo i presume you mean the preview? There is no difference between preview and the bought template.

Thank you Ben for your response.

Please “sort this out” for me. i just downloaded the version again and it is the same content as before. I’d like to tackle this right away if i could.

Thanks again in advance.

Bennyho.

Hi Bennyho,

Pop me an email using the form – not the comments and i’ll get it sorted tonight.

Ben

hello.

i just purchased your template – it’s very well done.

i specifically purchased it because of the movable and re-sizable pop-ups in your demo. however i don’t see any of that in the actual template i downloaded.

can you explain what i need to do to have my template work IDENTICALLY to the demo on themeforest? that’s why i bought the template.

thanks in advance.

bennyho.

Hi Bennyho,

I must apologize for this. I updated the file to 1.6 a couple of days ago and had a confirmation email from Themeforest stating that it had been applied, so I changed the preview link. Obviously it hasn’t been changed!

I’ve resubmitted the file and stated the issue. If you wish – direct email me using my form and I’ll sort this out for you myself.

Sorry for any problems caused.

Kind regards,

Ben

Hi,

Do you think I can embed a flash slideshow ?

There is no reason why not. The template is HTML and CSS . So it’d be the same as setting up a box with a single image in – just with flash instead.

Ben

Great template, just bought it.

I do however have a question. Why is the PSD so huge in size? As in the width of the content area is 3363px, the images are 791px in width, etc.

Thanks

Hi Takaya,

I would recommend using the illustrator file as reference for graphics. The original design was created in that. Then I’ve used the default export settings to create the PSD . I must have chosen a setting which wasn’t 72dpi.

You could re-export the file yourself or if this is causing you trouble, then contact me via email and I’ll send you the 72dpi version.

When I update the template next, I will include the 72dpi version. Sorry for any problems caused!

Ben

Hi Ben

Thanks, I did an export and it worked 100%. You seem to have exported the PSD files at 150 DPI , don’t worry, you are not the only one who does silly things like that. :)

Thanks again for the help!!!!

Hehe glad to hear it! This is my first template on themeforest so I think I’m entitled to a mistake or two as long as I do my best to sort them out!

Ben

Can this resize on the mobile devices ?

MediaQueries ? viewports ?

HI meflies, This has been tested on a couple of media devices including the iphone. The template doesn’t use mediaqueries but it does work out the size of the viewport and adjusts the number of columns accordingly.

Hope this helps.

Ben

Hello Ben,

Just tried on my IP4 and it shows 2 cols and small text, should it not be showing one col ? also the images are of width 300px and not set to percentages for resizing on small devices.

Can you please add those so I can buy this already :)

Love the design

I love this layout, but is there a way to make the tweets separate and appear more as a lifestream? Do each of the windows appear according to date or by another hierarchy? I’m wondering because it would be great to see the tweets higher up if possible.

Hi Pigsel26,

Thank you for the love ;) The way in which I was planning on using the template was to have it go hand in hand with a content management system such as expression engine.

This would allow users to order the content depending on date published. At the moment, the higher the boxes are in the HTML the higher they are in the page. As for the tweets, Moving them higher up the template may cause size issues with the javascript which powers the resizing. If you give it a go, let me know how you get on!

Ben

Ben,

How do i make the zoomed images bigger than the 380×300 images in the layout? It seems that if i link to a larger image it forces it to 380×300? I can’t find where to change this setting?

Hi almostdry,

Simply add:

zoom_content img {

width: 600px !important; }

to the screen.css file and change the size depending on the size of your zoom image. This should do it.

You can also go into the onload.js file and add:

$('div.photo a').fancyZoom({scaleImg: true, closeOnClick: true, width:600, height:600});

instead of the original line (on line 52). Obviously change to the size you requre.

This is a more elegant solution than my previous one.

Ben

Great idea. This can put an end to the eternal question, wether fixed or fluid layout is preferable. It just makes a full-width layout usable with large screen resolution. I wonder as well, if this is possible to have inside a WP theme?

Thanks, Bernhard

Hey Ben…I am having some issue resolving that issue…if you have time and can point me where to make an adjustment within the css that would be great.

Cheers

Hi ntennis,

This requires some indepth javascript editing as well not just CSS . The fuctionality isn’t written into the template as it is. I’m also not sure that the site you specifed is using the same javascript as Multiply is. So there isn’t a quick fix. I can only point you towards http://desandro.com/demo/masonry/docs/ which holds the documentation for the main animation/ordering javascript.

Ben

Hey Ben,

I will do some reading up thanks for the link. One other question… I am sure this has to do with the masonry JS file also, but how could I lower the opacity on non filter results?

Hi ntennis!

I recommend trying to alter the onload.js file after line 19. It’s currently call’s fadeOut’s and fadeIn. If you take a look at http://api.jquery.com/fadeTo/ and try using fadeTo instead this might produce some interesting results. I’ve also opened a thread here https://github.com/desandro/masonry/issues/issue/70 which might also give you additional help. Hope this aids you in your quest to replicate wearebox!

Ben

Thanks Ben I will give it a try and let you know at some point.

Oh That is not my site…just a reference…but I was asking how i can get the content to shuffle in the way that site does…rather than just appearing stand still upon loading

Hi ntennis,

If you mean the “dealing of cards” animation when the site is first loaded, then at a I believe they load all their content in first (on top of each other with absolute position css) before the javascript for organising the files is called. Hence get you the stacked “Boxes” then when the JS is called, these boxes reorder themselves into their correct positions. Hope this helps.

Ben

Also…do all the html pages need to be used? Can this be used with only one? and experience the same result?

Hi Ntennis,

Thanks for the purchase – I might be being daft, but doesn’t all your content in on your site already? and yes the index page is the main page, the others are purely for people without javascipt enabled.

Also – love your site, the opacity on none filter results is genius.

Ben

Hey Ben…Nice work!

I was wondering if it is possible to have the images/content load in when a visitor arrives to the site (similar to the way this site has managed to do it)

Rather than being static

http://www.weareboxhead.com/

Thanks

It looks like this is only one page.

Is the javascript doing all the resizing and replacement of content?

Hi Herrbutzie,

You are correct. The main template uses javascript to filter results, the other templates are purely used if the user doesn’t have javascript enabled.

Ben

WOW !!! Stunnign love the mpovement when you resize the screen size

This is stunning! Great work!
