Hi, i admire your work (especially CSS-wise). There’s only one interesting thing that i couldn’t understand: why did you prefer to hardcode dropdowns for mobile views? Is there any reason to do this? It’s killing DRY principle and i think you have a reason for it.
I’m considering to use something like TinyNav.js for avoiding repetition. Do you have any suggestions?
Thank you
Hey Bdemirkir,
Thank you for your comment and positive feedback. We appreciate it
Yes, dropdown menu was done intentionally in the lightest way possible, even without JavaScript usage to make sure it’s working fast and don’t load the browser with additional script, especially important on old mobiles and browser with disabled JavaScript, however it’s always possible to use some little additional code like TinyNav.js and make it’s working automatically if you prefer and if it works better for you.
Hope it helps!
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Kind regards
On more advantage of mobile menu in MultiPurpose is that it’s possible to have different menu order or items for mobile (there is full controll over it), so for example you can show different menu items or order for mobile version.
Hope it helps!
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Thank you for your responses. I see your point and i agree. This way, you provide maximum flexibility for us
But i chose to use TinyNav.js for my use case and i did it in minutes without any problems. This way i won’t be bothered with possible inconsistencies.
Thanks again
Not sure how to ask this question.
On my about page where I display my products in this case books – your template had 5 stars and underneath the words “139 comments” What do I link the stars to? And what are the comments linked to and how do I link them?
Also despite the code still being there the stars only show for one of the three products on the page

Hey,
Thank you for your comment.
For SEO reson it’s better to avoid links to stars, that’s why inputs field were used. Depends on what you prefer you could add some custom code to submit the form with the data about clicked star or replace the inputs into links if you prefer, then you might need to adjust styles for that.
Concerning “Also despite the code still being there the stars only show for one of the three products on the page”
Could you please write us more details/screenshots/url, so that we could investigate it?
Hope it helps!

Okay it seems my other question has been removed. Rather annoying as you guys tend to be brilliant at helping.
Where can I find help regarding getting the comments automatically tabulated on the blog section of this template. I purchased this thinking from your example that when a person left a comment that it automatically state “1 comment left”
Is there a script I need for this or what?
thanks
Hey Tencents,
Thank you for your comment.
We didn’t remove any of your comments. Concerning your question, please do note that you bought html template and in general html templates hasn’t got comments system built in (PHP and MySQL would be needed then or WordPress version).
Hope it helps!
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Okay so I will ask the question a third time and see if I get an answers that helps.
Where do I go to get these things. Does theme forest sell them or do you guys?
Do I need to get a programmer? Or will wordpress cover all of these things.
Sorry for being so ignorant – but we all have to start somewhere eh?
“Where do I go to get these things. Does theme forest sell them or do you guys?”
We don’t sell the functionality you asked for on ThemeForest for MultiPurpose HTML5 template.
“Do I need to get a programmer? Or will wordpress cover all of these things.”
Yes, you would need a programmer for custom PHP / MySQL coding. For comments system we may send you some useful resources via e-mail, but some knowledge in PHP / MySQL might be necessary. Please let us know your e-mail, so that we know where to send it.
There is also the easiest alternative solution to use and implement easily the Disqus.
“Or will wordpress cover all of these things.”
Yes, WP version will have the comments system and categories you asked for.
Hope it helps!
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
Warmest regards
Thanks for that. Email is shhane@gmail.com
Thank you, please find the exemplary instruction of how to implement comment system in PHP / MySQL attached in the mail. Hope it will help you or your developer. You can also wait for WP version, which will be released soon.

I am having a problem with the logo on the scrolling nav bar. I made the correct two sizes of the logo file and when I preview the pages offline the logo on the scrolling bar gets super small and unreadable. And when I preview the page online, the scrolling nav does not even show up. I also don’t like how the IE browser has an error message every time I load the page saying it has risky active X script. What can I do to get rid of that too. I can send you screenshots if you need them, but need your email.
Hey Lenoras,
Thank you for your comment.
Concerning the IE browser warning – this is native browser behavior and they are showing only on your localhost, when you upload website online they won’t appear at all.
Concerning the issue you have got with your website please send us the screenshots or URL. Our e-mail is is info (at) thememotive (dot) com.

Hi, great templates. I have a question here, I used portfolio_multiple template as the original temple to build a image gallery, it works when the view action is clicked, the bigger image pop up, the width is right, but the height of the frame is shorter than the actual picture, how can I adjust that? Please note, I have different sizes of images when click view….
Hi,
Thank you for great feedback
Concerning your question. The height is is not chaging the dimension if the width is also not chaning the dimension. Are you checking it in responsive or desktop mode? Could you please give us some more details/screenshot or URL? We would recommend you to check if your custom code is valid with W3C validator as on the preview we could’t replicate this issue.
Hope it helps!
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Hi, From this page, go to http://themeforest.net/item/multipurpose-responsive-html5-website-template/full_screen_preview/5379349, then go to Multiple Galleries page, view any picture by clicking the “view”, then a big picture pops up. I am saying my pictures have custom heights and widths, while now the wideth changes, I can not find place to change the pop up big picture’s height….please help!
the code is like this:
<article class=”col2 website”>
- View
when the big picture pop up, the width is correct, but the height of the frame is shorter than the actual picture – because my picture is much taller than the temple’s originate design… My question is how to adjust the pop up picture’s height?
Thanks,
I upload this page for you to preview: http://www.ktceramicfiber.com/fuquan/certifications.cfm
please click on the view icon to see the big pictures, note that I have two set of image sizes….
Thank you for the details. Please just remove the max-height: 540px; for the selector .modal-img in style.css and then it will work fine for your images.
Hope it helps!
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

problem solved, I figured out.
Hello, I wanted to know if it is possible to reverse the slider5: form on the right and left image. Thank you.
Hey Privatamente,
Thank you for your comment
Yes, sure, it’s possibe to reverse position of the image and form. Please just replace the float value from the left to the right and from the right to the left for selectors: .slider5 form and .slider5 .slider in the file style.css
Hope it helps!
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Fast and accurate as always. Thank you.
Hola! Nice template, I have one question though: How can I disable horizontal scroll-bar. There is no horizontal scroll-bar on your preview, so there must be a quick fix i suppose. I previewed your template in all different browsers and the scrollbar is visible in all of them, so this is not a browser issue.
Hey Novisplet,
Thank you for your comment
Yes, there is quick fix for that:
Please replace overflow with overflow-y on this line in style.css
html {overflow: scroll; background: #ececec;}
Hope it helps!
Kind regards
Hi I’ve found another small problem. The client scroller found on this page
http://thememotive.com/multipurpose/home9.htmldoesn’t scroll correctly when in phone widths. It ends up scrolling back before displaying all of the list. I saw this on both an iphone and a narrow PC Chrome window.
Hey,
Thank you for your comment. Could you please send us the screenshot at info (at) thememotive (dot) com ? We couldn’t replicate that issue, so the screenshot might be helpfu, so we could investigate it and prepare the proper fix.
Kind regards
Sorry…I just tested again and found that the issue only shows up if you resize the browser window after loading the page. If you load the page into the narrow sized window it works fine. Please disregard.
Again…great job on the template. Enjoying the build-out I’m currently using it for.
I was just checking this theme on my android phone and it did not adapt and respond – responsively. It stayed the full size, worried now why that happened? It adjusted fine when I made my pc browser window smaller. But I really want the theme to look stellar on mobile devices. Please advise.
Hey Loras,
Thank you for your comment.
We tested the template with all modern mobiles and tablets and didn’t observed this issue, even on very old mobile. Could you please write what kind of mobile/browser are you using, so that we could investigate it?
It could be a matter of adding tag the additional tag in the head:
<meta name="HandheldFriendly" content="True">
Hope it helps!

I was viewing it with firefox on my Galaxy s4
I’m interested in buying this template for a client of mine, but want to know how easy it would be to replace the social icons on the top header with my own larger images or text. I want to highlight the company phone number and live chat button and would like the social icons to be smaller and up in the very top header or just in the footer. Thanks
Hey Lenoras,
Thank you for your comment
We would recommend you to remove the top bar then (it’s easy and fast) and replace the social icons with little custom code with the text (phone number, etc.) depends on your needs. It’s easy in general, but we may assist you with that as well.
Hope it helps!
Let us know if there’s anything else we can help with.

Thanks for the prompt reply, also would it be possible to integrate a language selector which could translate the site into Spanish ?
Could you please give us some more details concerning what kind of language selector are you going to use (Examples of code.)? If you are going to implement Google translate widget like this one then you could of course it’s possible and you could implement it as well, however you might need some little custom code depends on where do you want to place this widget.
Hope it helps!

Okay, I will contact you when I get to that part. Will this theme work as a php file? More specifically will the menu navigation still will work? I have a bunch of forms on my client’s site that are in php and those pages will need to look like the rest of the site. So I wanted to make sure the theme will still work when converted from whatever file type you currently have this theme (html, htm, shtml) to php
Yes, MultiPurpose is ready to convert to PHP without any problem.
Hope it helps!

Hello, when I click on the arrow in the form of the select style 2 will not open the drop-down menu…
Hey Privatamente,
Thank you for your comment.
Could you please send us your custom code for the review, so that we could investigate it?

Thank you for the details. Please replace in style.css
from:
.form2 select {width: 52%; padding: 5px 3%;}
to

and then it will work fine.

I can’t figure out why, but on the iPad Air there’s no background image on the footer.
It works ok on the iPhone – is there some additional resolution issues you know of with the Air?
Hey Mania112,
Thank you for your comment.
Could you please give us some more details (what kind of browser / operating system). We checked it and it works fine for example on the latest Safari. Did you checked your custom code with http://validator.w3.org/ ?

Beautiful Theme !!!! I’ve a question. Is there any way by which we can implement a Dialog (Pop-Up) by clicking on a particular link?
Thanks in Advance !!!

Thank you for your comment
Please have a look here for the sample of code of how to implement to Dialog (Pop-Up).
Hope it helps!

I know the link which u sent and have worked on the same for many times. Is there anything integrated in Multipurpose of the same kind?
Applying jQuery Dialog helps, but we need to take care of the looks and make them appear the way Multipurpose is. So, is there anything in Multipurpose??
Currently there is no integrated Dialog Pop Up in MultiPurpose, but we might consider to add this features in the future releases (which we will make according to our Customers feedback), so thank you a lot for the feedback
Please let us know if we can be of furthe rassistance.

Hello, this seems to be a great template. Lots of good features. I would like to buy it, but I need some elements. Datepicker, Timepicker and Priceslider which match this template ( for a booking site ). Do you think, that you can add them? I would pay extra.

Great template…thanks! One problem I’m seeing is that when it’s on a phone sized screen, if you start to scroll down from the top it will jump back up once. You can then continue to scroll but the first jump is pretty frustrating.
You can see this on the default page at http://thememotive.com/multipurpose/ in all the windows browsers/ios devices I tested.
Load the page, shrink the browser window down to phone size, grab the right scrollbar and drag it down. Screen will jump back up.
Hey,
Thank you for your comment and great feedback
According to the issue you found we will work on fix for that, however please do note that on real mobile devices it should work fine.
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.

Thanks for looking into it. I actually noticed it first on an iphone and it happens as well on an ipad (chrome for sure…didn’t test safari)
Thanks for the feedback. We will investigate it.

Hey,
We just want to inform the on the latest version (and online preview) sticky header was improved and works fine.
For fast update please change/replace in scripts.js:
From
// sticky headers
$(window).scroll(function() {
var header = $(".root>header.sticky-enabled");
var headerHeight = header.height();
var scrollTop = $(window).scrollTop();
if (scrollTop > headerHeight) {
if (!header.hasClass('sticky')) {
if($('body').width() < 800) header.height(headerHeight);
header.addClass('sticky');
header.animate({top: 0}, 600);
$('.root').css("padding-top", headerHeight);
}
} else {
if (header.hasClass('sticky')) {
header.removeClass('sticky');
header.removeAttr('style');
if($('body').width() < 800) header.height('auto');
$('.root').removeAttr('style');
}
}
});
to:
// sticky headers
$(window).scroll(function() {
if($("body").width() > 800) {
var header = $(".root>header.sticky-enabled");
var headerHeight = header.height();
var scrollTop = $(window).scrollTop();
if (scrollTop > headerHeight) {
if (!header.hasClass('sticky')) {
header.addClass('sticky');
header.animate({top: 0}, 600);
$('.root').css("padding-top", headerHeight);
}
} else {
if (header.hasClass('sticky')) {
header.removeClass('sticky');
header.removeAttr('style');
$('.root').removeAttr('style');
}
}
}
});

Great! Thanks.
You are welcome
Thank you for the help so far.
How would I remove the borders around the image. I am using the columns to crate a rotation on the page putting 1 image and then text, then the next section has text then an image. When I add an image, it adds a border around the image which I do not want. Any way to exclude that for these images?
Hey,
Would you like to remove all border or only on some specific?
If you don’t want border at all you can remove this part of code in scipts.js
//fancy borders on images
$(".content img, footer .widget_photos img").not(".content .testimonial img, .hp-services img, .logo, h3 img, button img, .product-meta img, .img-border img").each(function(){
var i = $(this);
i.wrap('<span class="img-border" />');
if(i.hasClass("alignleft")) {
i.removeClass("alignleft");
i.parent().addClass("alignleft");
}
});
if you just don’t want them to appear in same places then you can add them here
example:
not(".content .testimonial img, .hp-services img, .logo, h3 img, button img, .product-meta img, .img-border img")
in scripts.js like the examples already set.
Hope it helps!

Thanks again. Works perfectly.
One last thing and we’re done:
Can you tell me how to center a button on the page so that I have a Large Blue button say, Buy Now ?
You are welcome
Please look at his example:
in html
<p style="center">
<a href="#" class="btn large green">Buy Now</a>
</p>
in style.css
.center {
text-align:center;
}
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
PS. We would be glad if you could rate us 5 star
Thanks and kind regards
That didn’t seem to work. I added the css portion to the bottom of style.css, is that correct?
Please use this html instead of the previous one (replaced style into class):
<p class="center">
<a href="#" class="btn large green">Buy Now</a>
</p>
Hope it helps!
Please let us know if we can be of further assistance.
