modals.
I just want to create a pop up form so that the user can contact me quickly on a button. can you advise a fast way to do this?
thanks for the great work!
bo
Hi,
This won’t be possible from within Variant, but you can copy the HTML for any contact form from a demo page and paste it into a modal container on your page.
If you need more help with this, please open ticket at mediumrare.ticksy.com
James
thanks very much for your help
No problem
How do you configure the single page format/links in variant?
Hi there,
You just need to give each section (in the sidebar) a name, once you’ve renamed the section, you’ll notice a small navigation icon appear beside the section – this means you can now link to it as a one page item.
Now when you right-click the links in your navigation you’ll see a dropdown option to select the navigation links on the page.
Hope this helps, if not – feel free to open a ticket at mediumrare.ticksy.com and we can assist in closer detail
Thanks, Craig
Hi again an awesome product from you. I love them. I really want to buy Pillar aswell, is there are chance to take the fullscreen navigation from fx. Foundry at set it up with Pillar after the export?
Hi, sorry but it is not possible to take elements from Foundry and put them in Pillar. Pillar was recently updated with some new nav styles, do any of those suit your needs?
James
Hi, great work! Is there a way to avoid the rounded form fields? To have them square?
Hi there,
Yes there is – you can add the class ‘form—square’ to any <form> element and all the inputs will be square as seen on this page: http://pillar.mediumra.re/shop-checkout.html
Cheers, Craig
Thanks – bought it!
No problems

Great theme! Really love both Pillar and Variant Builder, but I do have some questions. Will you make a text editor that allows me to make format the text – bold, italic, make links, headlines, etc.? And will you enable meta description editing?
Hi there, Thanks for purchasing!
We are working on richer text editing features and meta tag editing. You’ll see these features appear when they’re ready
Thanks, Craig
Any chance we can load our own icon packs into Variant?
Hi there,
At this stage this is not a feature we’re actively developing – but it is something we are planning to include in the future.
OK, but would be great to have it sooner than the future, like right now! We’ve purchased a few icon packages so it would be very useful if we could use some of them in Variant.
Sorry, but this feature is far beyond a simple, small feature update, and we have higher priorities. It would take considerable time and we could not guarantee that there would be no conflict with icon class names etc.
Fine, so next question/idea: what about bundling other icon packages such as Nucleoapp.com and bumping up your price from $19 to $24 to cover it
Hi again. Noted, but this is not something we can devote time to at this moment.
James
Love your work! One issue I’ve found however. Load times with the Iconsmind set. That comes in at ~1.1mb! Is there a way to reduce that file size and only keep the specific icons needed used?
Hi there,
Thanks for purchasing!
Yes there is – you just need to load the icon files into https://icomoon.io/ and select the icons you want – then export it as a font file. That way you’ll only end up with the exact icons you’re using being loaded.
We included the entire file (1.1mb) so you have the largest range of icons to choose from.
Cheers, Craig
I thought it was https://www.iconsmind.com/ you guys used?
Hi there,
Yes it is – Icomoon is just a tool to create icon packs
Love this and enjoying playing with it Is there a fast way to make the header come down on scroll after x amount of pixels? I am using one page and need it to come down after 50% VH
thanks
great work
bo
Hey there Bo,
Thanks for purchasing!
Yes there is – just add the data attribute data-fixed-at=”###” to the nav-bar element, where ### is your pixel amount you’d like the nav to pop in at
Cheers again, Craig
great stuff
No worries
Hi, Your web design is really creative. I like the agency demo, it looks nice, simple and user friendly. I need to show services in colourful boxes and they flip on mouse hover like the services boxes in the following web site.
https://www.webdirectors.co.ukWhat about the ‘Recent Work Showcase’ section in the agency demo, can it be resized and flip on mouse hover like the above website?
Thanks
Hi there, Thanks for the compliment!
You could achieve this by replacing the cards in the recent work showcase carousel with the hover tiles elements from this page: http://pillar.mediumra.re/elements-hover-tiles.html
Cheers, Craig
Great template, I liked it, very clean design.
Thanks
I was just trying to figure how can I add fullscreen navigation in variant. I can’t find it although its there in the page templates. Is it still not available with Variant?
Hi there,
Not yet – this is because we’re still working on bringing full-fledged modal management into Variant. For now this nav type is only available to add into your output page after you export to HTML from Variant
No function to paste the copied text, but only a very poor clone. The text you have to write by hand !! http://prntscr.com/be9656
Hi there, you should be able to paste in text using CTRL+V as with any normal text area. Which behaviour are you seeing when you do this?
You can also open a ticket at mediumrare.ticksy.com so we can discuss in greater detail
Thanks
Craig
Awesome Design!
Cheers
Update 1.1.0 is now live with new navigation styles, a new home layout, and shop checkout / cart pages. We’ve also added some new blocks to Variant and fixed all currently reported bugs.
Thanks to all buyers so far for their feedback

hey mate. i own foundry and launchkit and this will be next. can you please let me know what font was used for the large word Pillar. many thanks.
Hey there, glad to hear it
That font is called Montserrat – and is also used throughout the theme as the heading font
Craig
no way! jeeze, my fave font
how did i not pick that :/ thanks!
haha, most of the time it’s used all in uppercase, we also used different font weights that aren’t available on Google Fonts (you can grab the full set of weights from here: https://www.fontsquirrel.com/fonts/montserrat?q%5Bterm%5D=montserrat&q%5Bsearch_check%5D=Y
Cheers! Craig
thank you so much. much appreciated! (y)
You’re welcome
Hi guys, great product.
I just purchased Pillar. From where exactly do you launch the Variant builder? Is it from the Pillar website or from within the dowloaded items somewhere??
I tried launching it from the Pillar website but it keeps telling me it’s a DEMO version even though I have purchased the product.
Hi there,
Thanks for purchasing!
You can open variant by launching builder.html found inside the variant folder of the download package
Craig
I’m loving this template and it’s taken my project to the next level! Is there a way to still access the underlying Bootstrap text formatting classes, for example “label” and “badge”—these get superseded by the Pillar template’s styling.
Hi there,
Thanks for purchasing! Glad you’re enjoying Pillar
Most of the Bootstrap CSS has been eschewed to avoid bloated CSS files – instead we’ve chosen to just stick with the core Bootstrap grid.
Hi, Really nice template, and Variant makes it really easy to build custom pages. Though I’m trying to implement a “Gallery Hovers Media” and can’t find out how to change size of an element in Variant. I’d like to have some of the project to be bigger than others. Like in your thumbnails. Can I do this in Variant or do I have to modify html ? If so, how ? Thx !
Hi there,
Thanks for purchasing! Glad you’re enjoying PIllar
You can do this – you just need to right click on the element and click ‘expand column’ or ‘shrink column’ to change the size. Though you will need to add an element to have the grid refresh correctly.
Cheers, Craig
Hi, I purchased Foundry and looking to purchase this as well. Is there any way I can add a left or right sidebar to any of these blocks? I would really like to have that for the blog section.
Hey there,
Thanks for purchasing Foundry and for considering Pillar. Could I just clarify what you’re asking – do you mean you’d like to add a sidebar to any block, or that you’d like to have the blog listing with sidebar sections available as a block in the builder?
Thanks again. Craig
The latter (have the blog listing with sidebar sections available as a block in the builder), but being able to add a side bar to any block would suffice.
Thanks for the clarification, we’ll have the blog with sidebar added as a block in the next update (due this week)
That’s awesome… Looking forward to it.
The modals doesnt scroll
Hi there,
Thanks for purchasing Pillar1
Thanks for reporting this – it will be fixed in the upcoming update (due this week)
Cheers, Craig
