How can i remove the data from the URL for new blog posts? For example if my URL Slug is ApplesandOranges, it currently shows as www.mywebsite.com/2020/01/apples and oranges. I don’t want it to show 2020/01

1- There is a request named genericons.css in the theme. I’m not %100 sure but looks like theme doesn’t use it. It might be deprecated sir.
2- You’ve added a nice feature named “Conditional loading”. It is really brilliant and other theme developers cannot add that feature. We can’t thank you enough.
I know modernizr.js isrequired for the theme core. However, modernizr is called in the header. So it may be important and we shouldn’t defer or move it to the footer right? Just need your confimation before things go wrong.
3- And the last thing, I want to move some external CSS files to footer. I know how to do that through a PHP snippet. But which external CSSs should I move? I’m thinking of moving font-awesome.css, pluginstyle.css and bootstrap.css to the footer. Or which CSSs are critical for the first paint?
My website will be about WordPress guides, tips and tricks. It’s almost ready, sir. I’m just stuck in above steps. I’ll also add a credit in the footer such as “This theme (Writing) is developed by A-Works.”

1) We have already removed it in the update, please stay tuned for it
2) The Modernizr script can be deferred or moved to footer if the other theme scripts come after it
3) I would recommend using Critical CSS Generator service that will extract the required css for above the fold area, then inline the critical css in header and move all of the css files to footer

It was amazing when I used critical CSS as you said. It takes only 300 ms for first paint. Google really loved it, but if I use critical CSS and move all of the external css files to footer, then inlined CSSs which are automatically created by Writing core in the header will be overidden because of the CSS priority. So, some of customizations such as centered logo, or button colors won’t appear. It is actually difficult to use critical CSS for me.
So here is my style/script order:

- bootstrap.css
- /writing/style.css
- inlined styles which are created by Writing core
</head>
<body>
- CONTENT IS HERE
- other combined css files here (Gutenberg style, font-awesome, plugin-style, child theme’s style)
- combined JS (jquery.js, modernizr.js) (NOT DEFERRED)
- Inlined scripts which depen on Jquery and created by Writing core
- Conditional JS by Writing (NOT DEFERRED)

Please just ignore my message above. I decided to use default order which comes with Writing. As you know that we should always respect query strings. JS/CSS combine has no affect on page load after HTTP/2. Writing’s default structure is already blazing fast if you enable conditional load. Once again thank you, bro.

For ex if there exist any tutorial or pictures where I find the correct place to begin to work on my site and use the template. Hi, I’m from Japan. Writing is an extremely nice theme, so I’ve purchased it. And now I have two questions.
First, the menu button on the top, especially on smartphones, can’t be erased? I wouldn’t like to use the menu at all, and I love the more simple design.
Second, I also don’t need the Sliding Sidebar at the moment. I chose Hide option on Layout > General Setting > Sliding Sidebar, but it doesn’t disappear.
If I need to modify css, please tell me so.

I added the code you provided, but the menu bar didn’t disappear. So, I changed the code like this:

As for the Sliding Sidebar, I checked that there are no widgets in the sliding sidebar widget. I don’t know why not working correctly, but should I hide the button of the sliding sidebar by adding another CSS code?
For reference, Default Blog Style is Masonry with Featured Post (with Right Sidebar).

I installed the theme but I am having an issue. The CSS was not matching the preview.
When I looked closer the css which is in parent theme’s style.css file is not getting applied fully since it is getting overridden by content in bootstrap.css.
Bootstrap.css file is enqueued after parents style.css . Please provide solution for this.

Hello, it’s been more than one year since I used this theme. I really liked the theme. It looks proffessional. However, Under my posts, there are suggestion posts with pictures for readers. This feature is provided by this theme. However, the same feature is also provided by wordpress itself and I can’t cancel it. There are options such as with pictures, dates etc. However there is no option to cancel it. That’s why Under my posts there are two suggestion lines and it looks terrible and destroy my design. How can I delete wordpress itself and only see theme feature for suggested posts. I look forward to your response. Thanks!
