Singer/ Songwriter Nathalie King

Born to a French/Vietnamese mother and a German father, singer-songwriter Nathalie King is known for her sultry smooth low voice reminiscent of the true artists of the vintage jazz era. Her lower range is hypnotic and sultry; her upper range soft and melodic. King’s music has been noted for its cinematic pop and trip hop style; her sound expresses tragic themes like lost love, mental health as well as socio-critical topics. King has been writing songs as a therapeutic means to overcome childhood trauma and depression throughout her life. An award-winning singer, who has experience in radio guest host appearances, she released her first studio album, Odyssey, in 2013 and has since released a few singles, notably “Break Away” which landed a placement in the latest S’well water bottle commercial, and ‘Ghost Rider’ getting a licensing deal on the ABC Freeform TV show “The Fosters”. King has appeared regularly as a jazz singer on the Toronto music scene, and with more than 200 shows under her belt, has since been focusing on performing her original music. Graduating with a B.A. (Hons) degree in film and animation, the artist produced and hand animated her 2019 music video ‘Suckr for Love’, which has been officially selected at international film festivals including the Berlin Music Video Awards and the St. John’s International Women’s Film Festival. As well as doing voice work for commercial and TV such as NBC, writing and vocal work for Universal UK Publishing, King is currently working on a new EP, and is looking at a notable year of upcoming synch placements.
