Would you please consider adding a left version of the “image with CTA” block in a future update? This way it would be possible to build a page with a zigzag layout.
Is it possible to “reset” or clean the cache of the builder so that I don’t have all the thumbnails of the images from my tryouts in the image upload folder?

Yes you can clear the cache of the builder by clicking the cog in the sidebar, then clicking ‘delete all’ this WILL delete all saved pages however, so you might want to export them before you use this.

as already mentioned before by two persons the scrolling is broken in Chrome on Mac (sometimes). You promised an update 1 month ago which I cannot find. Is there any bugfix? Its kind of urgent since this is a big issue, having a nice page which the visitors cannot really use properly.

Hi, I was wondering when I uploaded a logo to the logo settings it shows up fine at the navigation bar as its suppose to but, it also shows the same logo at the bottom left corner but smaller how can I remove it so the logo doesn’t appear at the bottom left footer section

In Variant you can right click the logo and click ‘remove’ or in the html, just remove the ‘img’ element in the footer

The mobile menu doesn’t seem to want to get out of the way once the selection has been made (ie. it stays active and in the way of the content after you’ve selected the link in any mobile device). Is there an alternate menu style that might be part of an upgrade.

Hi, While this is not possible in Variant by default, if you go into builder.html (back up your original) and play around with the layout of certain blocks, you can make your own section containing that button which would then be available to use in Variant when you reload. If you are not confident playing with HTML the I’m sorry but this won’t work for you, but we are planning to implement custom blocks in future versions of Variant.

I removed the whole class=”validate-required validate-email signup-email-field” from the input at placeholder Email (I need phone only) and now it shows Internal Server Error

How to fix?
The mail.php has a condition at the start of the script that looks for the presence of the email field, so make sure you still have one input with name=”email” or you would need to change the condition in mail.php. If you need some more help please open a ticket at mediumrare.ticksy.com.

Problem: Internal server error as seen on screenshot above. Input with name=”email” exists. Only the class=”validated…” was removed.
I have a a suggestion. Replace string 413 in scripts.js with only numbers validation. I think it’s very easy.

Did you remove the smooth-scroll js file? That would be the likely cause of that error. If so you’ll need to remove the smoothscroll initialision in scripts.js too
No, smoothscroll is there. It works when the anchor is on the same page (e.g. index.html#thisworks). The problem is when the anchor is located on another page (anotherpage.html#thisdoesnt). It seems like the builder applies the class inner-link class to any href containing a # sign. If the inner-link class is removed, the link works fine (like a traditional anchor, without smooth scroll).

That could be causing it. Are you sure the javascript is not being stopped by a bug in another script?

Hi, I’m having problems with the inner-link class being applied to menu items. It seems any link which contains a # get the inner-link class. For example, I have multiple pages, on the services page I want to link to the index page, but specifically to the pricing section of the index page.
I have tried the following links and nothing happens (or smooth scroll moves me to the top of the page) when I click on them until I remove the inner-link class.

It’s very frustrating to have to update every link on every page each time I export the HTML from Variant.
Yes this is how Variant treats in-page links. A link with a # in it will be given the inner-link class. The problem appears to be how inner-links are detected and used upon page load. I’ll look into this.

Definitely the nicest looking landing pages at this time although, as usual, not really aware of what a landing page actually is.
People we use Landing Pages every day need far more flexibility with forms for example (redirection should be easily built in) and two stage sign ups (buttons that open a popup with a form in it). Designers focus on all the wrong things (no Lead Gen people could care less about ‘parallax’ backgrounds).
That said this certainly has great promise and hopefully the designers will actually listen to customers.
My primary fear with this product is that none of the demos show any images in full screen width.

I agree that form redirection could be improved, and two stage signups are great – we just need time to implement it. ackground images are all restricted to Bootstrap’s 12 columns in Launchkit – this was our design decision, so there is no option in Variant to alter that. Hi, this would involve editing builder.html to add a block – which we do not typically support, but if you have some HTML skills, you may be able to pull it off. Adding or editing a block is not a feature that is supported by Variant at this stage. You will be restricted to using only the blocks visible in the demo.
Bought the theme, love it.
I’m using the background video module. There are no controls…no mute, pause, etc. Video loops endlessly. Doesn’t stop when page is scrolled down.
A user left the page up, forgot about it, went to work for the day. As a consequence, the constantly looping exceeded the server bandwidth & froze all sites on that account.
How might I be able to prevent this? Is there a way to prevent infinite loop playback?
Bonus if we can find a way to mute the audio.

Hey there,
Once the video has been downloaded, that is, played through once, it wont constantly download from the server as it loops – it will use the same downloaded file and simply play it again, so you shouldn’t need to worry about this.
You can easily stop it from infinitely looping however by removing the attribute ‘autoplay’ from the HTML.

Thanks Craig! I appreciate that and can modify the attribute. But now I’m perplexed at what’s causing the bandwidth drain. I initially assumed the video cached, but can’t explain the large bandwidth usage other than the video. It was in excess of three gigs. Is there any possible scenario you can envision in which the video doesn’t cache? Maybe in the builder, perhaps?
I should mention we have almost no traffic to this site. Only a couple people doing QA tests.
That’s really odd – you shouldn’t see redownloading of the video once its cached – you don’t have caching disabled for testing purposes?
As for the builder – it should be the same case, once the video caches it shouldn’t redownload, we’ve not had this issue before.

This would require you to add some custom javascript which checks that the form has been successfully sent, then triggers the page to open a new window with the download link.
