hi Ecko, i found 3 problem, 1. on the password protected page, dont show the comment , showing “This post is password protected. Enter the password to view comments.” 2, i didnt found code highlight for JAVA. 3. i using WP build-in format Quote create blog, it just show empty on home page. can you have look for it.

The homepage header supports both images and WebM/MP4 video formats. The post and custom page headers support just images at this time.

There currently isn’t a grid layout option with Cedar. If this is required we recommend checking out our Ivy masonry theme.

1. Is it possible to have the top navigation menu stick to the top while scrolling down?
2. Is it possible to create an archive page with a list of all posts? i.e. The post title + reading time? (no category button & no excerpt text at all).

4. Is there a way to add a large image banner for Next / Previous post at the end of each post?

1, 3. Open a ticket on our support centre and we can provide some custom CSS for these features.
2. This is not a theme feature and will require a third-party plugin.
4. The next and previous posts are shown in the pager footer after reaching the end of a post.

Is it possible to display the featured image in the index/archive pages, so images show up on the homepage for each post for example?

The engineering team for the company I work for uses this theme, but I have a question about it. Individual post pages are only showing one category even if a post is associated with multiple categories. Is there a simple fix for this? Thanks!

As part of the minimal design and to focus on the post contents without distractions, we decided to use a single column layout for Cedar. The drawer section is an alternative to a sidebar and supports widgets. This can be accessed via the navigation icon in the upper right of the view-port.
If you require an always visible sidebar we suggest checking our theme portfolio which features a number of multi-column layout themes.
HI: I’m curious what kind of Photo/Image Gallery is included with the Cedar theme? I really like this theme from a blogging perspective but my site also has a lot of images in galleries that I feature and I’d want a gallery that is nice looking and capable of having category filters for the visitor/user to look at specific images related to different topics.

Cedar supports the standard WordPress gallery via the ‘Add Media’ button. If you require more advance gallery features than what WordPress provides I would recommend using a third-party plugin.

1. Within the theme post options you can enable the featured image to be shown above the post title.
2.The subscription widget will only request the email, however on the follow-up page a name will be requested if you have this option enabled in your MailChimp settings.
i’m pretty interested in purchasing… but I would need the featured images to neatly fit underneath the title of the blog posts. Can support help me with this?
Cedar currently supports post featured images in the post-list, which are displayed above the post title.

I want to leave a review for this wonderful theme so on lookers can see how superb this theme is, maybe it can be spotlighted somehow. I have a background in design and quality assurance testing for development. So I picked this theme through with a fine tooth comb before I decided to purchase it.
I was looking for a theme without all the “kitchen sink” features that are not native to wordpress which when a theme is switched can leave a mess behind of shortcodes and other issues (visual composer and the ilk): check!
• Next criteria to be met was that it had to look cool with user interface design and menu system: check!
• Next criteria to be met is that it needed to have a video cover: check! note: It would be awesome to set a video cover for individual posts or pages.
• Next criteria was speed. This theme rates a 78/100 with speed on mobile with 99/100 user experience on mobile and a speed rating of 92/100 on desktop. Very important for SEO according to Google.. Very awesome scores and believe me I tested a lot (over 50) of cool looking themes and 99% failed miserably. There were 3 other themes (one was Ivy that they also make) that stood out but this theme won them over.
• Next criteria was that shortcodes were not necessary to use theme: check!
• Next criteria was customization, what sold me was that this theme uses native Wordpress customizer to edit the website. That made me give this theme a standing ovation. You can change both posts and pages on the fly. When creating/editing posts and pages you have further features available to customize like cover images, post type and more. Changes when set are implemented immediately and you can see the changes: check!
• Next criteria was the menu system: I wanted a menu that could slide in and out and be easily customizable, since this uses widgets and recommended plugins (some of which they make) it is an awesome experience to customize the menu! I was considerign third party menu plugins just in case I could not customize the menu I wanted but to my joy the menu system does everything I want (nested menu, categories with nesting and post count): check!
• Next criteria was mobile, it had to look great on mobile: check!
In conclusion, this is one of the best themes I have ever seen in terms of speed, functionality, coolness, design and customization.

The drawer is a WordPress standard sidebar and will support third-party widgets. Please note we cannot guarantee compatibility or provide technical support for third-party plugins.
We use the WordPress ‘Categories’ widget in our theme demo, and the theme fully supports all default widgets, and includes multiple extra widgets (See theme description for widget list).
Post pages do support multiple pages with a numbered pagination.
The video cover loops automatically after the video source has ended.

The sidebar/widget areas are located in a slide-out drawer, which is revealed by clicking the menu icon within the menu area (top-right). These can be configured via the ‘Appearance ->Widgets’ section of your WordPress dashboard.
Yeah, I saw this sidebar but this is not really what I call a sidebar as visitors actually need to click on the icon in order to open the drawer and see it. What I was talking about is a sidebar that would be next to the posts, on a white background (like most of the sidebars you can see on blogging themes). This would allow me to add a newsletter widget (that will always be visible) and some more widgets (popular posts…). Any plan to add it in the future?
Would it be difficult to implement if I hire a freelancer to do it?
Cedar is a single column layout, and doesn’t include a sidebar next to the content. It’s not something we are planning to add support for in the future, as its a feature of the theme to be minimal and show only the post/main content, yet have the option of widgets via the reveal-able drawer. As we have support for all widgets for within the drawer already, it wouldn’t be difficult for a developer to add this feature.
