Any chance to get a HTML version this? I use ExpressionEngine CMS.

Hi marchimedia,

Unfortunately, there are no plans at the moment to create an HTML version of this theme.

I can’t seem to move the latest news segment of the homepage to the LEFT side. It seems stuck in the middle. This is true even when the theme options setting of “Left/Right” is changed to the left.

Hi professional_persuasion,

If you are using one of the pre-set skins, it will be set to whatever the pre-set skin is set to. In order to customize the theme, you will need to make sure the skin is set to “Custom”.

If I set it to custom, are there instructions on how to set up the custom theme to incorporate elements of the the pre-set skin?

Hi professional_persuasion,

The documentation explains the various options you have (fonts, Featured Posts, colors, Latest News position) that you can set from within the Theme Options. If you have any questions after reading the documentation, feel free to submit a ticket at the Support Center and I’ll be happy to help.

Hello,

Pre-sale questions:

— Can i use different skin for only a specific category page: like sport category with sport skin…

— Can i show comment form under the post and not in new window popup?

— Can i switch off full post under single?

Hi choukran,

1) Unfortunately, the skin you select will be used for all of your pages, so that is something you would need to modify on your own.

2) Currently, the popup comments will need to be used for all posts if you use the Auto Load Posts feature. But I do plan on making the standard comments available with this feature in a future update.

3) Yes, the Auto Load Posts feature is completely optional.

Have it dummy File? and Slyder dummy file?

Hi Sancho89,

Yes, this theme comes with a dummy XML file with posts, menus, categories, tags, and dummy images.

The “fly-out” mobile menu, and main menu, are not functioning as you described. Specifically, both are showing the same menu options (even when the menu’s associated with main and mobile are unique).

Hi professional_persuasion,

1) I think the “space” you were seeing was the border on the navigation menu. I made a change in the demo and it will be reflected in the next update. But let me know if you are still seeing the issue in the demo.

2) Are you only seeing this on smaller resolution desktops? And just to be clear, are you saying that basically the image is too tall for the screen?

Please submit a ticket at the Support Center and I’ll look into the Visual Composer issue for you.

Precisely. Depending on the size of the image I upload, sometimes if I use a smaller image the issue is fixed, but there should be a default setting so that large images don’t fill the screen to the peril of displaying the title.

Hi professional_persuasion,

The Featured Image on that post template has a max height of 650px. You can change the max height by adding this to the Custom CSS section of your Flex Mag Options:

.post-wide-img1 { max-height: 650px; }

Then, you can edit the max height to whatever you’d like.

Greetings! I have pre-purchase questions. I viewed the demo via an iPhone5 device and it’s not allowing me to see/change the appearance of featured posts. In addition, I have to scroll horizontally to see content. My questions are: 1. Is there only one option to view featured posts via a mobile device? 2. Is the theme not fully responsive? 3. Is this theme compatible with the Thela Post Slider plugin you use with the DeVoe theme? I prefer it over the plugin used with Flex Mag.

Beautiful theme.

Thank you!

Thank you for your response. Viewing the theme from clicking on the link you’ve provided did the trick!

With regard to your answer for my third question, if I disable auto-load posts, will the plugin work then?

Thanks again!

Hi mariamaria6868,

Great to hear! Yes, the Theia Post Slider plugin will definitely work with this theme if you disable the Auto Load Posts feature from within the Theme Options.

Ok, thank you again. Excellent service and amazing themes. I know for certain I’ll be purchasing Flex Mag or DeVoe… This is a tough decision.

Hey!

First, great theme, looks super cool. I only have a few question. If I select “tech” (here: http://puu.sh/khSaC/a58ac6575f.png), then I don’t see any changes? How is this possible? How can I make my theme look exactly like your Tech-skin?

Thanks!

Greetings,

Hi MaxWolfje,

Thanks for the purchase!

Please submit a ticket at the Support Center and I’ll look into this for you.

Awesome theme.

3 questions -

1) Does the column order (widgets) can be changed for homepage? ie, currently it is 300px – 775px – 300px. Whether I can change it as 775px – 300px – 3oopx?

2) On post section, whether the 300×600 ad can be made non sticky? I want it, but whether it can be made non sticky?

3) I already own 2 of your themes. In devoe theme you have not implemented google plus button. I have asked you about this before and you said less g+ user base. But I have lot of g+ users. If I buy this theme will you help me implementing g+ share button? or a possible future update?

Thanks!

Hey there, Vijayabalaji!

1) Yes, you can easily change the column setup from within the Theme Options. You can see an example of the column layout you’re looking for in the Fashion demo: http://www.mvpthemes.com/flexmag/fashion-skin/

2) Yes, all of the sticky sidebars are optional, so you can make that ad column stationary if you want.

3) The reason why this theme and DeVoe (along with any major news sites) do not have a Google+ button is because Google looks to be phasing out the social network, as explained here: https://www.yahoo.com/tech/google-is-slowly-phasing-out-google-112517429669.html

this is SUPER cool.

WallMag was the on-top of my list theme for restyling Time Lapse Network, but this definitely takes over :) Bravo!

One question – as you see, my site uses BuySellAds.com ads.. I need to know that your theme integrates smoothly with BSA before purchasing.

You did an AWESOME job and deserve 1000s sales

Marco

Hi marcofama,

You can use javascript and html code to display ads with this theme. Sso as long as BSA gives you javascript code to display ads, you should have no problem displaying ads with this theme.

Can you show me the Blog format, please?

Can you show me the Blog format, please?

Hi Tsetan,

The blog format is essentially the same as the “Latest News” template: http://www.mvpthemes.com/flexmag/latest-news/

You could also set up your homepage to display similarly to the Fashion skin homepage with the larger images, as shown here: http://www.mvpthemes.com/flexmag/fashion-skin/

I’m sure you’ve already fixed this – but just wanted to second that the auto-loading of previous articles is a bit wonky (in firefox at least) and it loads a ton of URLs as soon as the post is loaded but doesn’t change the URL as you scroll. Just a heads up – saw someone else mentioned this too so I know you’re on it.

Huge MVP Themes fan!

Hi jdunns4,

I have a fix for that and it will be included in the next update. In the meantime, you can add this to the Custom CSS section of your Flex Mag Options:

post-left-col hr {

float: left; }

Also, if you have a second, I would greatly appreciate it if you could rate the theme (preferably with 5 stars ;) ) via the Downloads section of your Themeforest.net profile page. Thanks! http://themeforest.net/downloads

Scratch that last part :) I just noticed you already rated it. Thank a ton!

In the documentation, the only mention of post templates is: Post Template – Select between 8 different Post Templates. To utlize this feature, go to Posts > Add New (or edit an existing post) and select a layout from the dropdown box in the Post Template section on the right sidebar.

How do I set it up so that all of my posts are, by default, set to Template 6. e.g. http://www.mvpthemes.com/flexmag/flex-mag-powerfully-simple-wordpress-theme/

Hi professional_persuasion,

Yes, I just made the change in the documentation to clear up the confusion. My apologies for that.

Thanks MVP, great theme. I’m very happy with the work & support. Good luck with sales!

Great to hear, professional_persuasion! If you have a second, I would greatly appreciate it if you could rate the theme (preferably with 5 stars ;) ) via the Downloads section of your Themeforest.net profile page. Thanks! http://themeforest.net/downloads

Theme visible on thehype.cz!

13: Footer missing social icon Instagram!

Hi helicz,

Thanks for the suggestions! I have added some to the list of potential updates, but I cannot guarantee that they will all be included.

I have also resolved the issue of the Instagram button in the footer and the fix will be included in the next update.

Great theme.

Some questions.

I noticed that the H1 tag is around the logo on article pages. That’s not something you’ve done in your previous themes, and I know there’s some debate about whether it constitutes good SEO practice. Was there a specific reason you started using it/how easy would it be to remove it from article pages?

I’ve noticed that you’ve provided some bug fixes in the above comments. You’ve also referenced fixing certain errors on your end. Is there a full list of these changes anywhere? I’d love to purchase and start using this right away, and it does not appear an updated version is yet available.

Hi cantortainment,

With regard to the H1 tag on articles, you could remove it by adding a conditional tag in the header.php file so that the H1 tag around the logo only appears on the homepage, but it doesn’t look like it creates any errors in the W3C Validator and it seems to be common practice in a few major sites I’ve seen lately.

I will submit the update for the next version by tomorrow, though. I can give you the fixes for the few bugs that I’m aware of if you wanted to purchase the theme earlier.

Thanks for the reply!

That’s reassuring regarding H1. I’ve read some articles about why it shouldn’t go around the logo (and another popular theme designer here mocks it), but you’re right – it’s on a lot of the big sites.

I would, however, like to echo professional_persuasion’s request below. I admittedly assumed that being able to choose the default post template was a given feature, and I kind of need it to be. The theme I’m currently using uses full-width images (akin to Post Templates 6 & 7), and I couldn’t possibly go back and edit all those posts upon switching to Flex Mag.

Hi cantortainment,

I have added that to the list of potential updates, so I will try to make that available soon.

I currently use Osage theme but my images are usually only 620px in width and i dont use the “add featured image to post” feature, but i insert them manually into posts instead.

Would switching to Flexmag be a problem for my case since this theme depends much on featured images?

Hi filipmedia,

It is recommended that you set a Featured Image for both themes, but if you don’t plan on using the Featured Post area or any of the widgets with larger images, you can certainly use Flex Mag if you don’t want any thumbnails to be displayed anywhere around the site.

nice theme is it compatible RTL ?

Hi emikim,

That is currently not a feature of the theme, but it is something that I have added to the list of potential future updates.

thank you hope it will be added so soon i will buy it

Does this theme suffer from any lock-in “features” via plugins, shortcodes, post types, function conventions, any other implementations, etc.? I need themes to work with the all the popular CMS-type plugins like acf, types, pods, etc. Theme is absolutely gorgeous btw.

Hi adamacosta16,

Due to the custom nature of the scoreboard, you may not be able to utilize the same function with another theme, even though the scoreboard is technically a separate plugin. The Featured Video function is also unique to the theme as it uses input from a custom meta box.

Is there a way to make the leaderboard ad at the very top of the page? Google Adsense is very strict about not having menus drop down in front of them.

Also, is there any option for sharing to reddit?

Hi FsFans,

If you want to avoid dropdowns, the theme does offer a fly-out menu where you can include the different levels of menus and just leave the top navigation for quick-reference links. But moving the leaderboard area is something you would need to modify on your own.

I will add a Reddit sharing button to the list of potential updates, but I can’t guarantee that it will be included.

Hey, in order to show the score widget as seen in the sports theme, would i need to manually enter the scores or is it automated using a feed?

Thanks,

Hi elistone23,

The scoreboard is manually operated, so you would need to manually enter the scores, but it takes a matter of seconds to enter scores.

thanks.. also how do i get a page to only show a certain category of post. for instance, in the demo when you click the sports tab, your taken to a page with only sports category post. how do i do the same?

Thanks

Elijah

Hi Elijah,

You’re looking for the category pages. Category pages are automatically created once you add posts to a category. You can then add the category to your main navigation menu, and when users click on the category menu item, they will be taken to the category page, like in the demo. For more information on how to add items to your menus, please refer to the “Custom Menus” section of the documentation. If you have any questions after taking a look at the documentation, feel free to submit a ticket at the Support Center and I’ll be happy to help.

Also, if you have a second, I would greatly appreciate it if you could rate the theme (preferably with 5 stars ;) ) via the Downloads section of your Themeforest.net profile page. Thanks! http://themeforest.net/downloads
