is there a way to have a grid based on content like in the Kite Theme?
Does Cedar support cover image for Pages? Also, are the cover images in single post adjustable… I would like them about half the size or so? Thanks.
Hey pgsimas,
Thanks for your interest in Cedar.
Both posts and custom pages can include a cover headers, and the height of these are adjustable on a per-post basis via the included post options.

Hi, my content is in Chinese. The reading time estimates are way off. Is there a way to fix that?

or a slider cover/header?
Hey axxum,
Please see our response above.
Hi there, This is a beautiful theme. Is it possible to have a homepage with video cover?
Hey axxum,
Thanks for your comments and interest in Cedar.
The frontpage cover supports video backgrounds in MP4 and WebM formats. The latest blog post can be used in place of the cover title, however no slider functionality is provided in the cover section.
Is the ticket system down?
Hey futuretro,
Apologies for this. The support service we use had some unexpected downtime, it should be available again now. If you ever have any issues accessing the support site you can contact us via email (support@ecko.me).
Should i upgrade to Wordpress 4.4 now, or wait until i get the green light for Cedar theme?
Hey futuetro,
We added WordPress 4.4 compatibility in the latest update (Cedar v2.2.0), so you can update your installation.
thanks for confirming.
Hi, I have a few questions about the theme.
1. Is it possible to create an archive with on post titles? 2. Is it possible to remove the post date?
Hope to get back from you guys soon. Thanks!
Hey DeanYeong,
Thanks for your interest in Cedar.
Cedar doesn’t include an archive page template, however this is very simple to add manually. If you decide to purchase submit a ticket on our support site and we will be happy to assist with this. Post dates can be hidden via the included theme options.
I purchased and installed this team (excellent theme, by the way). However, the shortcodes aren’t showing up in the text editor. How do I use the shortcodes without the menu?
Hey cruzoutloud,
Thanks for your purchase of Cedar.

Hi, is Cedar compatible with Typekit? Can i install the Typekit plugin and use their fonts?
Hey futuretro,
Thanks for your interest in Cedar.
We can confirm the theme is compatible with the ‘Typekit Fonts for WordPress’ plugin. You will need to add custom CSS rules to the plugin settings which we can provide. If you decide to purchase open a new support ticket and we will be happy to assist.
Thanks for your reply.
I’m using a MailChimp plugin for my newsletter subscriptions. I’m also using Contact Form 7 for contact page.
Will the fields for both forms look the same? E.g. placeholder font type, size
We provide default styles for the input/form fields. If the third-party embed codes don’t provide their own styling then the themes form styling will be used.
Cedar also includes a custom widget which allows a MailChimp subscription form to be added within the slide-out drawer.
Hi, to update have I to manually upload files to theme folder? Sorry for stupid question
Hey Alerma,
Yep, simply overwrite the existing theme files with the updated theme files.

Hi there, I love the theme! Just wondering, is there an option to remove the homepage banner image? (so visitors will see posts right away)
Hey jvcaiisme,
Thanks for your comments.
Yep, a theme option is included to remove the homepage header.
Just a quick followup – if I have the homepage header removed, will the top global nav still be visible? (will the removal of homepage header affect the global nav at all?)
The navigation bar will still be visible, and will appear similar to the post page when no header is shown (example).
For the post page that has a header image, is there a way to set the banner image not take up 100% of the vertical space? Something similar to the category’s page (example). Reason being is that we’ve done some A/B testing before, our target audience (45 yo +) didn’t know they could scroll if the banner image is too tall. Thanks!
A post option is provided to set the height of the post header, and this is set on a per-post basis. If you wish to set this globally, submit a ticket to our support site and we can provide the required custom CSS.
Ah I see, so I am able to alter the height of the post header by choosing a post option on a per-post basis. Is that correct?
Yep thats correct, or we can provide some CSS code (which you copy and paste into your dashboard), and this will set the height automatically for all post headers.
Purchased, great theme!
Two questions:
1) How do I set a banner image for author’s page? 2) Is it possible to banner image for each post on blog homepage?
Also, I can’t seem to get the comments section to show, can you provide me with a hint?
Thanks for your purchase and comments.
1. This can be set within the customizer under ‘Blog Cover’ -> ‘Blog Cover Background’.
2. This can be enabled via the post options, via the ‘Show Postlist Image’ option.
3. Please submit a ticket to our support site with a link to your blog/site so we can investigate this issue.
Perfect, thanks!
Is there a way to make the site logo (top left) to link to our site’s homepage, instead of the blog homepage?
This is not possible as this element is used to navigate back to the homepage from sub-pages (such as the post page). If you require a link to another site/page we recommend adding a navigation menu item.
If you have any further questions please open a new ticket on our support site.
hey. tried support but couldnt find related article. Where do I deactivate the gallery function or what file governs the effect?
Hey fancony,
Thanks for your purchase of Cedar.

Looks good! But as long as it does not support a regular sidebar it’s not usable for my projects.
I’ve bought Koala, it should be good!
How can I translate it? directly on files or there are mo and po files where I can edit and translate the site? Thanks.
Hey Alerma,
Thanks for your purchase of Cedar.
Cedar includes .mo/.po files for translations, these can be found within the ’/languages’ directory.
Yeah, thanks. Awesome theme! 5 star rating!
Thanks for your comments, Alerma. It’s much appreciated.
Hi is it possible to show images in the post excerpt on the home page?
Hey slimzainy,
Thanks for your purchase of Cedar.
Within the post options you can enable this via the ‘Show Postlist Image’ option.
Awesome theme! Any plans for the Ghost version ? Thanks.
Hey krypted,
Thanks for your comments. Unfortunately we don’t have any plans to bring Cedar to the Ghost platform at the current time.
