HI – having some trouble updating the Redux Framework plugin to work with the TownPress child theme – when updating manually the version within the theme package I get this message: Allowed memory size of 67108864 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 340728 bytes) in /home/XXXXXXXX/public_html/wp-admin/includes/file.php on line 663 – any clues please? Any assistance much appreciated. Cheers
Thank you Lubos – my host created a php.ini file and I set a 512M limit, but had not changed the other wordpress php files required. That seems to have sorted the issue. I appreciate your prompt assistance.
So everything is fine then?
Hi there,
Can you tell me how I change the menu under the ‘Choose your interest’ option on the homepage and also how to change the text for this box?
Thanks Adam
Hi, I’d reply to an existing comment if I could, rather than start a new one. But I just wanted to request, as other people have, a VC element for Documents, Notices and Events, similar to Articles element you’ve already created. I think this would be extraordinarily helpful given the nature of the template… For example, I’d like to list all the Council Minutes on the Village Council page. Or I’d like to list Recreation Committee documents on the Recreation page. Or all permit applications on the Permits and By-Laws page. Stuff like that. Seems like a key missing feature!
Thanks, beautiful template, and can’t wait to launch my site.
Hi,
I agree and it is something I definitely plan to include. I will be releasing a new update this week which should include Documents element for the start. Will add others in the near future.
Lubos
On the “posts” page I have it set for an excerpt to appear…where can I add the “click for full article” link or do I need to modify that under the custom CSS? Thanks!
Hi,
please read this, but you will have to switch back to full content (not excerpt) for this to work.

Hello,
Great theme! but as soon as i got it installed i bumped against a few problems. Might be hosting company`s problems but i`m not sure.
Could you please have a look at www.neelbliefneel.nl
- I can`t seem to load the icons in any browser. - I can`t seem to get the red menu style as seen in your demo. Could it be there is some css or something missing? - I can`t seem to get the MAP function in the header to work. I have set it up with cords etc but it doesn`t seem to work.
I hope you can give me some support because i LOVE the theme you made.
Kind regards,
Alex
Hi,
ad icons: this is a very common problems on some hostings, here is the solution
ad menu: you have to create a Main Menu under Appearance / Menus
ad Map: there is a lot of errors on your site, lot of missing files. For example this one: http://neelbliefneel.nl/wp-content/themes/townpress/library/js/scripts.min.js It is not there even that it definitely should be, and there more like that. Did you by any chance edited the code? Just try to reinstall the theme.
Lubos
Hey Lubos, thanks for the quick reply! As far as i can see now you are right
I tried to upload it via FTP to the themes directory and it solved the theme and map options awsome! Thanks for the help and keep up the good work. The icons also work now i`m happy.

There seems to be a conflict with Yoast SEO?
If I enable Yoast SEO on a site running Townpress, I can no longer switch between the Text and Visual editors in the edit post screen – it appears there’s a conflict somewhere? I run Yoast on dozens of sites with other themes and have no issues, so I feel the problem is with Townpress?
Also, and less important, the Yoast SEO plugin does not seem to be able to change the meta titles of posts, categories, pages, etc because of a wp_title filter in the Townpress functions.php. Is this filter needed with Yoast SEO installed?
Thanks
Hi,
are you running latest version of the theme (1.1.9)? I’ve already fixed the issue with titles with Yoast SEO in one of the previous versions. Also I don’t have any issues switching between Text and Visual mode when I have Yoast SEO active.
Feel free to send me your wp admin credentials via PM so I can take a look, but make sure you have latest version of TownPress installed.
Lubos
Thanks – I’ve sent you a PM
It appears Townpress 1.19 was still including an old version of Redux extension metaboxes that included the following lines
// Fix for wp-seo embedding an old version (RC3) of qtip. Bah.
add_action( 'wp_print_scripts', array( $this, 'FIX_wp_seo' ), 100 );
add_action( 'admin_enqueue_scripts', array( $this, 'FIX_wp_seo' ), 100 );
I removed them and the issue was fixed.
Sorry – closed.
I am getting an error which my host is saying is a developer issue: PHP Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘includes/tgm-plugin-settings.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’)
Hi,
check out via FTP if this file is present on your server (full path: wp-content/themes/townpress/includes/tgm-plugin-settings.php). This is a very weird bug, but try to reinstall the theme.

Hello,
I have a problem with your template: Municipality WordPress Theme
I have a problem with translations. I compiled po file to mo file, I placed it on the site, but the template does not use it. Constant WPLANG is determined to correct language ‘pl_PL’. How do I solve this problem?
Hi,
did you placed your .mo file inside languages folder? You have problems with all strings or only with some?
Please don’t share your purchased core here, this is a public forum.
Lubos
Yes. pl_PL file is in languages folder.
Function: load_theme_textdomain( ‘lsvrtheme’, get_template_directory() . ’/languages’ ) returns true.
All string are not translated.
Now I know that this is a public forum, but when I wrote the question I did not know.
If you are using child theme, try to switch to parent theme if it makes any change. Also feel free to share your URL, maybe I will see something there.
I don’t use child theme.
Currently the site is in a private network. i’ll send access to the version available in the public network. Is it possible to send private messages?
Sure, here. But really make sure you made everything right when it comes to translation as it 100% works, I’ve just tested it to be sure. Remember, you have to switch your language under Settings / General, doing it via editing wpconfig.php no longer works in latest versions of WP.
When I try to create a blog post, I’m unable to upload images through the add media button, and I am also unable to switch to text view. I am also unable to insert a hyperlink.
I think the “popup” is appearing behind the content or something, but it’s making it pretty well impossible to work.
Hi, When creating the Lost Password page through Visual Composer. Page shows nothing. It remain blank. Please advise Thanks Kasana
Hi,
it works only with bbPress plugin.
Lubos
bbpress plugin is already installed and active. I have created the login page.
That templates basically contains just the following shortcode:
[bbp-lost-pass]
So just add that shortcode into content to see if it will work.
I could not understand. Please elaborate.
Add the following code as a regular text into a page:
[bbp-lost-pass]
Hi, is it possible to add a pagination to the single gallery view (like Number of Galleries Per Page)?
Hi,
sorry but that’s not possible. You will have to hire a freelancer for that.
Lubos
Hello , how to set up newest post on home page ?
Hi,
please use an account with which you have purchased the theme for support question.
Lubos
Something is wrong, posts duplicates on home page
Again, please use an account with which you have purchased the theme if you want any help from me.
Hey, I need to put alt-textes on all img-elements. How do I do that on clicked images (large ones) in the gallery? The html-code looks like this at the moment:
<img class="class-name" src="src" style="max-height: 955px;" />
But I need it like this:
<img class="class-name" src="src" alt="alt-text" style="max-height: 955px;" />
Is it possible to get the alt-text which have been inserted at the media library in Wordpress?
Thanks for your help.
Hi,
you mean image in lightbox? Lightbox is handled by 3rd party plugin so I am not sure if it will be possible, but I will definitely look into it this week.
Lubos
Yes exactly, I mean the image in the lightbox. Okay, thanks for your reply.
I will be releasing a new update this week, so if this feat is possible, it will be included.
I am currently working on the new update and was taking a look at this alt thing, but unfortunately it is not possible to put it into lightbox image. But I am curious, why would you even need it? It makes total sense for images in grid, but not really for image in lightbox.
I needed it to be in accordance with WCAG.
Yeah I know that IMG tag should have ALT attribute, but lightbox image is generated dynamically via JS so it doesn’t really matter in this case. It matters for images in the list and they do have alt attribute.
Hey, great theme. My News page shows all posts, but is it possible when i click on a post to have as URL: mywebsite/news/post-1 ? Actually I have mywebsite.com/post-1 Thanks for your help
Hi,
that’s more like general WordPress question, theme has nothing with it. Check out this article

Hello,
Yesterday I was browsing my organizations website (running the Townpress theme) and all of a sudden I kept hitting 500 errors. I first thought this issue was with my DNS since I got a ton of errors that it couldn’t resolve, but it doesn’t appear to be. The issue appears to be with your plugin: lsvr-toolkit-townpress When I go onto my web server, stop IIS and rename that plugin folder to anything else to manually “disable” it, all my errors go away and the problem is solved, other than the fact that my website design is broken and just displays shortcodes everywhere.
I have already tried replacing the plugin folder with a new copy from a fresh download of Townpress in case the one I had was corrupt. This just sent me back to a 500 error.
Any help you can provide would be very much appreciated!
Hi,
you are the first buyer reporting something like this. Can you please share your URL (with LSVR Toolkit enabled so I can see those errors)?
Lubos
Sure, here it is: https://irha.iastate.edu/ – It just gives a standard 500 error
FYI: Just found out that before this happened, one of my users was trying to upload a document using your custom post type for documents. When they tried to upload a document by clicking the button, nothing happened, so they clicked it many times in a row. They gave up and tried to go back to the Wordpress dashboard and that’s when they first encountered the 500 error.
Yes, URL won’t really help me. So if it’s document related, I assume that your server may have some issues with some document-specific PHP functions. Try to disable the LSVR Toolkit (e.g. by renaming folder) and remove all LSVR Document widgets from all sidebars and then activate it again. Also check out standard document list page (yourdomain.com/documents) how does it look (even with LSVR Toolkit deactivated), if there are file size listed and so on. Maybe even try to enable WP debug mode to get some helpful error messages.
Ok, I can’t remove any widgets with the plugin deactivated since it automatically removes them. When I enable debug mode, I get the following errors:
Notice: wpdb::escape is deprecated since version 3.6! Use wpdb::prepare() or esc_sql() instead. in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wordpress\wp-includes\functions.php on line 3411
Fatal error: Call to undefined function vc_set_default_editor_post_types() in C:\inetpub\wwwroot\wordpress\wp-content\plugins\lsvr-toolkit-townpress\lsvr-page-builder.php on line 30
The first one is just notice it wouldn’t cause that big error, but the second one looks like it. Open the wp-content/plugins/lsvr-toolkit-townpress/lsvr-page-builder.php file and change line 30 to this:
//vc_set_default_editor_post_types( array( 'page', 'lsvrservice' ) );
So just add ”//” at start of the line.
Yep, I did that a while ago. Once I identified the error I just commented out the line. The only broken thing now is still the document upload. When you go to documents and add a new document and click the button to upload a file, nothing happens. I was able to add files by URL though, so I am happy enough with that workaround. It worked fine in the past until yesterday.
Thanks for your help btw. I do appreciate it! It was a little frustrating because this caused a ton of DNS errors on my server and was hard to track down. I am just glad to be back in business though and have the website available once again.
Try to upload document via default WP media library, not via that button when you editing a document post, if it make any change (if the upload will work, then you can just select already uploaded document when you click on upload button in document post).
So to clear things: commenting that line in fixed error 500?
Yeah, commenting that line fixed the 500 error. As far as uploading, when you do it through documents and click the button nothing happens. Like it doesn’t even display the WP media library, so I can’t select previously uploaded content.
Ad error 500: I will fix that code error in the next update.
Ad documents: can you share your wp admin credentials via PM? I will probably have to see this one live.
I was just recording my screen to share the problem with you since I can’t share credentials, but now it appears to be working again (I have no problem uploading documents). I haven’t changed anything on my server. I wish I could provide you with more details on this issue. If it happens again I will let you know. Thanks!
Hi, I am having problems with post. Don’t work well.
I tryed put links and other in a post and the system don’t work correctly. Don’t permit to put anything.
Can yu help me please.
Hi,
you have to be more descriptive. Provide URL, screenshot and detailed description of the issue please.
Lubos
When I press something, add URL “edit#”, then blocks page article.
I do not know what’s happening!!!
Help me Lubos!
And when you switch to a default theme (e.g. TwentyFifteen), does everything work? I’ve requested access for your link.
Hi! I’ve been getting some spam registrations through the bbpress login/register page, so I’ve been trying to add various reCAPTCHA plugins designed for bbpress. None of them show up in the register form, however. Do you know why this would be?
Hi,
does it work when you switch to a default theme (e.g. TwentyFifteen)? If yes, then send me the direct URL (with TownPress active) where the captcha should appear and I will take a look at it.
Lubos
Hi, I am thinking about getting your TownPress theme for a customer but I first have a question. Is it possible to have the main menu as a top menu instead of having it to the left side?
Best regards Anna
Ah, thank you!
We could use some assistance with our website. On some of our pages we lose our breadcrumbs and page title, and also the right side widgets. Help please.
